As usual our stay in the Ibis Irun was great value for money. The rooms, the shower room and wc ditto. Breakfast was beyond expectations. Only dissapointment is that there is still only one coffee machine in the breakfast area, which causes a tailback.
Without any question this was really the very worst Accor hotel that I have ever stayed in. Chaotic and disorganised parking, I ended up being boxed in. Total absence of any healthy or nutritional food in what passed for a restaurant. Completely demoralised and traumatised staff who were almost zombiefied by their jobs. Awful bathrooms. Nothing good to say about this hotel and as an Accor member I have stayed in many Accor hotels without any complaints. This is a back-packer hostel and not an Accor hotel. Zero Stars.
All the staff were fantastic. We were made to feel special from the moment we arrived. Food was excellent and very good value for money. We chose the Ibis as they are all pet friendly, and the ladies at reception were all dog owners. We will stay there again.
While we struggled to find the hotel as Ibis do not offer the most comprehensive directions for strangers entering the city for the first time. Nevertheless we were well received by the staff, our room was comfortable, the bathroom clean. Breakfast was adequate only as the choice was fairly limited.
We stayed here in early April. It is a fairly basic hotel, though clean and comfortable. It appeared to be fairly chaotic with two people seemingly doing everything. Breakfast was ok but had very little variety to offer. We had to wait quite a long time for checkout as there didn't seem to be enough staff on duty
We love Ibis hotels and this was everything we have come to expect. As we wanted on-site private parking the location is on the outskirts of IRUN. Good selection of food for breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff, wifi available in our room was good enough for our needs.
We have been staying at this hotel for something like 10 years and cannot believe how they treated us this time. Indeed when we had our property company we used to advise all our clients that were driving down to stay here. This is what happened. When we arrived there was no internet available I kept asking Donial when it would be on but he did not know. I told him I needed it to work but he said it would not.I asked to speak to the boss and he said he was the director and yet when I asked again he said he was trying to phone the director but he wouldn't answer !! The last time I went to him he said "you have to pay for the dog now" so I did pay him 10 euros but he gave me no receipt and said there would be no internet. I had reserved a table for dinner and sat down to eat and my husband ordered a beer. I went back to the room and straight to bed as I was tired after the long drive from the Costa Blanca and I am 69 years old. I had been in bed for a little while when the telephone in the room rang and when I answered it a woman said "you have not paid for the dinner" I explained I was in bed she said, and I quote, "get out of the bed and come and pay" I told her again I was in bed and was by now upset when my husband came back and asked what was happening. When I told him he was furious and stormed off to reception with my card and paid the bill making sure that everyone in the reception area heard what was happening. He was even more furious because on all previous times that we stayed there we paid the bill on departure. . When I got up the following morning I noticed a plastic bag behind the toilet I picked it up and was atonished to find that it was for used sanitary towels and there was one in there ! We dressed and my husband loaded the car up and went back yet again to the reception cancelled the breakfast and asked for a receipt for the bill which the very nice girl (with a cast in her eyes I didn't ask her name) gave me and I notice the beer had been omitted When I told her she said "No problem you do not need to pay for that" . Ithen gave her the aforementioned bag with the sanitary towel in it and explained where I found it. She called over Montse who she said was the manager of the cleaners and showed her. She said that I was a liar ! wherever she thought I got one of these bags from and indeed a sanitary towel which I have not needed for 25 years I do not know. !!
Comfortable bed, clean room, excellent breakfast, polite staff, easy to find hotel. I like that breakfast starts early & finishes late & checkout is not until 12 noon although I usually leave early Near to lots of shops so could do some last minute Christmas shopping - very handy
Good for a 1 or 2 night stay but not many facilities in the immediate area of the hotel. the hotel is clean and comfortable and the restuarant is adequate. The staff are very helpful and all have pleasant attitudes
Used as a night stop over travelling from south Spain to the UK. Couldn't fault the hotel or staff, would definitely use again and recommend it. Decent selection for breakfast at a very reasonable cost.
Good location for an overnight stay on the way elsewhere, a short walk from the local Euskotren station. Friendly staff. Food options in the on site restaurant good, tasty and good value. Breakfast good.
We have stayed here several times en route to Spain and it is clean and very comfortable, the staff are delightful and the food is good. Breakfast is copious and very reasonably priced and we have also eaten dinner there and eaten well. Drinks are reasonable too.
The hotel was very easy to find and once there the check-in was fast. The room was basic but clean and tidy. I was only there for one night so ate in the hotel restaurant. The food was good with a good selection of dishes. The service from the staff was excellent.
This is my second stay at this hotel. Arrived very late in the evening and the hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful, and in a very positive attitude (considering how late it was). Requested a room for guests with motor disabilities which was duly satisfied. Very clean room, comfortable bed, calm and relaxing night sleep. Diverse continental breakfast with food from the region, very tasty. Welcomes pets, which is a big plus for me. The hotel is perfectly located within two supermarkets and a gas station. Not far away from the main highway, which is perfect to resume long road trips.
Very nice comfortable hotel that if it has a fault they are not used to somebody staying 5 nights like we did as room keys get reset everyday and so does WIFI code on a regular basis, but once you are used to this you work around it. The restaurant has improved since previous stays and had several really nice meals of an evening.
Ideal for stopover on long journey. Great location close to Spanish/French border. Efficient check-in, standard Ibis room, great value dinner (superb steak), friendly bar, good breakfast with cold cuts, cheese, pastries. Will certainly stay again.
Unfortunately of some 76 channels not one was an English speaking program not even BBC, Sky or CNN news. So for English speakers only there is no point in having a TV in the room. Also the Aircon/Heating control did not work making the room very hot and uncomfortable.
Perfect for a stay with a dog and a good price-quality balance. The service was a little in pannic as to many clients came to the breakfast. The distance tot the city was excellent as we loved to walk.
This was the fourth Ibis hotel I have stayed in during the last three weeks and it maintained the high standard of cleanliness, comfort and staff service. Although it is in an 'industrial' part of town there was a restaurant about 100 yards away if you didn't want to eat in the hotel itself.
Clean and smart We had the disabled room which was a great size. Evening meal was ok but much too much chicken leg salad and and tuna too. The staff were nice and friendly but when we asked where the tea and coffee making facilties were they said "These have never been available at this hotel" We know this to be untrue because over the course of 10 years we have stayed there many many times and have had them each time. Memo to self remember kettle !!
