The hotel is well located and has clean rooms, as you've come to expect from Ibis. However, it was very difficult to work as the TV took up most of the desk. The a/c wouldn't come on meaning there was just a fan blowing air and the room was very warm. The bed was at a funny angle, making my feet higher than my head. The bathroom was functional but lacking in basic amenities - only multi-purpose liquid soap, cheap toilet paper and not even a shower curtain, although the towels were better quality than in many places. The reception staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. All in all, a good crash pad, but not much more.
Very good choice in an interesting neighborhood. Good breakfast. Room was clean, breakfast area well supervised, food good, Hotel staff was polite and efficient. Perfect stay. Room was a bit small. Breakfast area a bit crowded.
I returned back to this hotel almost after 5 years....This hotel has a great location and is close to a lot of places of interest...The eateries across the street were very good. To top it all, the hotel staff is very kind and cooperative. They made me feel very comfortable and at home...Great value for breakfast too
i always select this hotel as my stop in Paris, easy access to gare de lyon, metro line, easy to get food, nice and good staff to serve and guide you, good breakfast and newly renovated now give a relaxed view.
The hotel was in excellent condition and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is outstanding with a main station 5 minutes away and lots of places to drink and eat locally. As a family of 3 we were very happy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris.
I did not like the quality, cleanliness, services, and amenities. It just lacks all the above. The room was always hot. The a/c doesn't cool enough. The service is awful. No facial tissues. Only one wear out towel per person. No fridge. No ice.
We recently stayed at the Hotel Ibis Gare de Lyon Diderot during a long weekend in Paris. The location is great for Gare de Lyon (easy access to hall 2) but the hotel has numerous flaws: - Guests arrive with luggage (we also had a buggy). We had to systematically lift the buggy up 4 steps due to the lack of ramp. It was a pain. How do disable guests stay here? Is there not building regulations for this? - The room was small and hot all the time, the fan didn't do a thing - The curtains were very thin and let the light in first thing meaning sleep was interrupted early - The bed was uncomfortable (pillows etc) - It's UNACCEPTABLE to pay for the luggage room as a paying guest That being said, it's practically located for Gare de Lyon / RER / Metro etc.
Rooms booked and paid for three months in advance - on arrival were told none available- varied explanations but apparently some one else was still in the rooms - and we had to move to another hotel. After twenty minutes waiting for taxi and watching other people checking in we were told other Ibis hotel couldn't take us and we were eventually given rooms in hotel. Room 205 had unpleasant smell. Hotel is being refurbished, but breakfast arrangments poor - no cutlery/ coffee mugs/ food not replenished quickly, tables not cleared. Broken lift following morning not handled well - and out of order notices left in place after it was fixed. Have used this hotel several times - very convenient for railway station and metro - would not be my first choice next time! Very poor management. Not enough staff on duty.
As I said, it's a very confortable hotel and really close to the Gare de Lyon. Perfect breakfast and very taste. The room is enough but maybe a too much little bathroom. After some days of trip forth and back from London, the bed was really confortable as well.
very good location ( only 2 minutes walk to train, bus station ), hotel&room very clean ( beds very comfortable, toilet and shower very clean ), helpful staff and good breakfast ( nice choice of french food)
We stayed at the Ibis Gare de Lyon Diderot as a base for a long weekend trip to Paris. The rooms were adequate for our needs as we were mostly out visiting the tourist attractions. Easy access to the Metro and the station. The hotel staff are very helpfull and would assist you the best they could. From supplying a bucket of ice (it was in the mid 30's) to translating a website so that I could print off my boarding cards. Would not hesitate to stay there again. The only downside I could think of is that the hotel must be on some sort of emergency services route (near by station) as there seemed to be alot of sirens, but it is all part of the experience.
Second time I stay at this hotel, very convenient on short trips and if you don't want to miss your train because of the Parisian traffic jams. Rooms are kind of small and basic but comfortable enough. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Good value for money.
A short walk from the railway station and an easy twp stop trip on the metro from the Gare du Nord. Standard ibis rooms - ok for a couple of nights but small. Good area for restaurants - the elevated viaduct garden walk to the Bastille is just behind the hotel and well worth a stroll.
I go to this hotel quite often since it is near of the train station I normally use to reach Paris from Spain. I like travelling by train because I have the opportunity of reviewing papers for the meetings without any interruption. From Paris I use to travel to Brussels coming back to the hotel in Paris at the end of the afternoon. Then I enjoy Paris. My next travel will be in July.
good check in and check up the room was very clean the staff by night was very busy, but however keep very cool and friendly good location near railway station and underground station the price is not so high for a city as Paris
Stayed for one night during a business trip to Paris, was a good choice. Just 3 minutes walking distance from Gar DE Lyon train station. Just be catefull for the correct Ibis hotel, since there are three ibis hotels around the same station. Room was ok, Internet connection was pure.
The great advantage of this hotel is the proximity to the train station Gare de Lyon and the Gare de Lyon Metro station, especially when you want to visit the main monuments of the city. However, it is up to you to decide if it's worth paying a bit more compared to other hotels in the chain in the city.
Travelling by train from London to Barcelona we took the 65 bus from outside Gare du Nord and were brought direct to Gare de Lyon which was our starting point the next day. The hotel is only 10 minutes at most from the station so we were able to get up at a reasonable time and enjoy the breakfast buffet before leaving for our TGV train. The building is a triangle with rounded points and our room was in one of these corners with a view over Avenue Daumesnil and the Promenade Plantee. Slightly awkward getting around the structural columns to get to the right side of the double bed!
Hotel is close to Gare De Lyon, just 5-8 mins walk from the train station to the hotel, hotel is cleam but the room is small, breakfast cost at EU10.90 but not a lot of food choice so not recommend to pay extra cost for the breakfast unless it is included on the room rate. We need to pay EU2 (each cabin) for storage of the luggage as there is a locker on the downstair for self service. There is airport bus at the train station to CDG & is very convenient.
We spent two days at this hotel as a stopover between a two week holiday in Spain and return to the UK. Our train from Barcelona was 3 hours late so we arrived at 2am. Luckily the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hotel could/should provide better maps of Paris for travellers.
