We were delayed and did not arrive at the Ibis until near midnight. The man on reception was very pleasant and helpful which was appreciated given the late hour. Our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.
Everything was excellent no problems at all .The service was good the room was very clean and smelt very nice .The location is the right place for us. There was nothing bad about the hotel. The staff was helpful polite and friendly.
Don't often leave reviews but felt I wanted to this time as a prompt for the company. I felt lucky to get a room at this price (£45) at only a few days notice. I arrived fairly late (9PM) in the day and the reception was in the throes of altering to a less formal atmosphere (new design) but this was not a problem, all very friendly. I was given my room card which turned out to be a disabled room, again that's not a problem as I guess it was because I arrived late, however on entering the room I felt distinctly ashamed if this room was different from the other rooms given to more abled people. It stank of smoke, was cold with dampness to it somehow and the carpet felt whisper thin, everything was very utility. Wash facilities were acceptable but certainly nothing to be proud of, basically it was a room for the night which is what I needed and as I said I have no experience of other rooms in the hotel but if this was the general standard then I probably would stay somewhere else next time which is a shame as usually Ibis is a favourite for me because its value with a French twist.
We just stay one night at this hotel. The check in staff was friendly , the room was basic but spacious and the bed.was quite comfortable The only downside was the smell in the bathroom due to the drain.
This Ibis hotel COULD be a great hotel and place to stay for business and or travel if management take notice of reviews and the following observations made over my six week stay: Repetitive breakfast menu and unable to get an alternative. Rooms not always tidied or condiment not replenished over the duration of a stay. Fires in some rooms do not work correctly and give out little heat. Rooms can become extremely cold in bad weather due to ill-fitting windows. Some of the front desk staff rude, unhelpful, and unkempt and are not brand or customer focused. Noisy rooms would suggest higher management stay over incognito to experience.
We booked this hotel because it was handy for us to attend a 60th birthday close by without having to drive home after having a drink, my wife was over the moon with the shower because she has difficulty with showers over baths due to her mobility after knee surgery....
This is the second time we have stayed at Ibis Rotherham East. We were attending antique fairs and this hotel is very handy to the motorway. This is a good budget hotel with clean rooms, nice breakfast and very helpful staff.
Helpfull friendly staff. Nice Room & Breakfast. Great value for money. Good location near the M18 & M1 TV a little dated. We have stayed at this IBIS over 10 times in the past18 months. I think that speaks for its self.
Clean and comfortable, possibly could have been a little cleaner in certain areas but overall you got what you pay for. Would use again no issues, staff very friendly and polite. The breakfast was not worth what you were charged £4-99 would have been about right.
Love staying here, staff are attentive. beds are comfy and outside hotel is a supermarket, pub and gym/pool... breakfast is varied on a self service. It’s set just off the m18 close to M1 where you can access Sheffield and Doncaster...
We don't visit many hotels, but this one was very good for our 1 night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very attentive. The food in the restaurant was not brilliant but not bad for hungry travellers. The noise of the boiler/heating droning away all night above our heads was more noisy than the traffic from outside. Although the MacDonalds take drive through orders was pretty noisy.
The hotel is situated by exit 1 on the M18 and is handy for Wickersley and Rotherham. The rooms are of a comfortable size and the en suite facilities are very good and spacious. I didn't use the bar and restaurant so can't comment. The staff are attentive and friendly.
We have used this IBIS several times in the past as it is very convenient for both travel and relatives living nearby but sadly this time we were slightly disappointed to find the room looking a bit tired and shabby. We stayed two nights and when returning to our room after the first night found that the beds had not been re made. The cups had been washed and replaced, thankfully but bed making and a little dusting or vacuuming wouldn't have gone amiss. This said the staff were friendly and the breakfast selection very good & so with a very reasonable price I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised. Next time I will take surface wipes and a duster - but I won't cart the vacuum with me!
Nice, clean comfortable rooms. Good value for money although I thought the breakfast was expensive. However there was a good selection of food. Could have had a better night's sleep as we were kept awake by the noise in the next room at 4am. But we have stayed here before and would not hesitate to return.
Polite helpful staff who made the effort to ensure my room was next to my friends. Eager to solve the problem I had with the heating (it needed turning on!) Great breakfast, really tasty sausages! Good choice of foods Clean room, appreciate the tea and coffee tray.
Lovely stay as usual. Clean and comfortable. All staff very helpful, especially Adam. Definitely recommend. Handy location, if it's your thing, macdonalds is opposite, and there is a nice carvery opposite too, which also serves other food.
Oh how standards have dropped in 2 years. Room smelled musty. The room was filthy, dust and dirt every where, carpet hadn't been hoovered for a very long time. Stay here again ..no. Stay at the Premier Inn up the road, better quality.
Very well run hotel by the General Manager. From arrival to departure excellent service from friendly efficient staff. I have stayed here regularly and always had a pleasant stay. Supermarket and garage close by which I found convenient.
I frequently use this hotel, once a month in fact. on my last trip I was greeted by a very rude old female staff member. She was doing her paperwork on the front desk, I went and stood next to her and she kept ignoring me. As soon as I said I 'hi I would like to check in' she looked at me and called her Male colleague over and said help these people out. poor guy was serving someone else, he asked her if she could ..and then she replied to me oh you can't check in before 2pm. when I told her I had booked an early check in, then she said we have no rooms available (without checking the system). she just wasn't bothered. we had nowhere to go so we sat down and the male assistant, after he finished helping another customer sorted us a room out within 15 min. this attitude is pathetic and I suggest IBIS remove her from the front desk!
Have stayed beforecand would definitely stay again. Needed somewhere we coul have our cat with us and this fitted the bill. Owing to his presence we declined the breakfast option but had used that before and it is very good value.
