As always this Hotel does what it says on the can! No fuss and no stress stopover on the way to South Wales. Excellent comfortable bed and a great breakfast with a fast check-in and out. Rooms are clean with coffee/tea facility and fresh towels. Location close to the M6 and M56 make it effortless to get back on your journey to wherever.
A basic but clean & comfortable room. Staff were friendly and it was nice that the bar was still open when I returned quite late so that I could buy some water. Breakfast was surprisingly nice - a much better choice than I had expected for the price. I didn't try the cooked options but what I glimpsed on other guests' plates looked OK. Restaurant menu looked reasonable, although I wasn't in to eat - I would certainly consider looking for another Ibis with similar facilities if I need an overnight stopover again.
I stayed here 19th to 21st January (2018). The location was fine depending on whether you want to be in the centre of Preston or near motorway connections - in this case it's best for the latter. I've never stayed in an ibis hotel before but I would say they are comparable with Premier Inn. The room was large, comfortable, and with the usual facilities - the shower was particularly good. The carpeting in the room was tired and in need of updating and probably because of that did not look very clean. The bedding was also a bit tired looking - if you can say that about bedding. There was a lounge/bar, breakfast was available, and the staff were friendly and pleasant. The cost was extremely reasonable and overall the accommodation represented very good value for money.
Hotel needs updating including soundproofing, clean carpets. Dogs howling in another room kept other family members awake. Staff are nice and helpful. Good location for us. Breakfast was dried out and poor, limited choices. Not anything like other Ibis I've stayed at. I expected similar standards as with Premier Inn.
I was really impressed by the warm and friendly welcome that I received at Ibis Preston North. I was visiting my brother and family over Christmas, and stayed at the Ibis Preston overnight. A Christmas card, a comfortable chair in my room, and a free drink as a Gold card member. I enjoyed my drink in the bar, and had a very pleasant breakfast the next morning. So good to have such a pleasant stay over Christmas!
Another few nights stay at this hotel staff are really helpful and nothing was any trouble for them lovely clean room plenty of towels changed every day definetely stay there on next trip too preston again
2 stars for the location and excellent staff, who dealt with difficult customers in a friendly and professional way. But this hotel attracts a certain clientele - avoid any room above the entrance as we had constant drunken parties noisily exiting taxis and yelling, whooping and howling under outside under our window all night. Changed rooms for our second night only to find the party room next door with people hammering on doors, yelling and running in the corridors and piling into the room with loud music. Oh, and smoking. One smoker set the fire alarm off 6am Sunday morning. So sadly this was a weekend trip with no sleep. Have stayed at Ibis hotels before and used to noise of people coming and going but this was exceptionally disruptive over 2 sleepless nights.
Have stayed on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The hotel is always clean, and as a disabled guest, has ideal room for access, comfortable bed, pleasant staff and good breakfast, will stay again when in the area.
Great bed, great shower. Breakfast available until noon is fantastic. Not having a reception desk isn't working for them. You need somewhere to hide wires and put useful things like stapler and calculator.
The key cards did not work - we have 4 different ones and it was hit and miss if you could get into the room. Our friends in another room had similar problems. But at least it was not as bad as last time we stayed when someone walked into the room in the middle of the night as they had been given the wrong key card. The restaurant is not great but a steak house type one next door so not a problem.
As usual, a hassle free arrival and departure. Good welcome and spacious room. Excellent bed. Breakfast is convenient and satisfactory. Staff friendly and always ready to assist. One downer is the electronic key for room doors are somewhat unpredictable.
Hotel was better than expected, when it said budget, I must say I was thinking along the lines of Travelodge but this places was miles better. Clean room, comfortable beds, fantastic Wi-Fi connection and a decent breakfast. It was close to the motorway but I didn't experience any noise. The only issues I had was that the toilet didn't flush properly and there was a over zealous security guard on the door after 11. He had a run in with my partner who was returning in from having a cigarette out the front. Because my partner left the key card with us (so the lights wouldn't go out), he seemed to get the impression that he wasn't a guest despite my partner giving him out details. We stay in a lot of hotels from budget to expensive and have never come across this before. We had a quick chat with the lass on reception the next morning who explained problems they have had in the past and this rectified it for us. Despite this, I would recommend the hotel to others.
Stop off on way to Cumbria. Budget IBIS that ticks all the boxes. Service / staff very attentive and helpful. Location good just off M6. Comfortable beds as I've always experienced with IBIS. Great breakfast with good choice. Suggestion to just improve the customer experience one more step is to offer complimentary biscuits in room which I have had at other IBIS hotels as I like a dunk with my cup of tea in the morning !! Overall great though and thanks again IBIS
Why has the old check-in counter been replaced by what looks to be a temporary replacement by the door with an assistant, 'sporting' a cheap red t-shirt, perched on a precarious high stool? Tasteless, cheap looking but no doubt considered by the marketing department as 'contemporary'. Ridiculous!!
We were made very welcome at The Ibis Preston North, nothing was too much trouble and we were given a ground floor room as my wife is partially sighted & disabled. We will stay there again on our next trip to Northern England.
Easy access to M6 and Ibis provide good quality accommodation at a competitive cost. The staff are always very polite and the room is serviced daily. Plenty of spaces in the car park. Pedestrian access to Garstang Road for shops, restaurants , etc.
Stayed here as attending a local wedding. Room clean, tidy and remarkably quiet in view of closeness of motorway & main road; Great breakfast. Great shower, only downside was that the extractor fan was not working, which left floor slippy. Will definitely use Ibis again.
I booked in online as they said it was quicker and chose to book in before twelve which was a mistake it actually took longer to book in and no room available, when we did get a room the flush for the toilet was not working so reported that and right away the handyman turned up and I must stress he was very helpful unfortunately it took over two hours to fix so did not have a relaxing time that we thought we would have, breakfast bar for hot food was very cramped and I like back bacon and fried eggs for breakfast but not on offer slightly disappointing stay
Comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. Breakfast was enjoyable but the evening meal left a lot to be desired. One expects a freshly cooked meal and not one reconstituted in a microwave with some of the ingredients omitted.
Convenient location just off the M6. Clean comfortable room with nearby restaurant. Friendly welcome from reception. Only minor quibbles was the water pressure was low so shower wasn't that powerful and double glazing could be updated to block out the road noise.Would stay again
