room ok,could do with more towels, only 2,breakfast got boring by end of stay as same everyday, only fresh fruit was old apples, sausages grisly so gave them a miss, had got free breakfast, most certainly would not have paid for it.
Staff excellent, room large and well appointed, hotel facilities as advertised. Close to town centre so excellent access on foot to all local amenities. Main bugbear busy dual carriageway to rear which was never quiet, hotel could do with upgrading the double glazing.
Great location great staff but room shabby. Toilet hard to flush, shower flow very slow. Black out curtains too narrow. Chair needed recovering. Overall not worth the £85 for one night. Plus 5 guys smoking right outside of main entrance so most unpleasant when waiting in lobby for a taxi.
Filthy Remote Control, Mould in Bathroom, Door wouldn't lock correctly, window locks faulty. Poor check in experience. No staff around. Gives bad first impression. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Do not stay here.
Stayed for five nights, room was very comfortable but could do with more clothes hangers and a heated town rail, breakfast is a repetitive menu and a change of choice would be welcomed by people staying longer than a couple of nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful so I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. Although not this Hotels fault the Council could do with installing a crossing and lights nearby as the road can be quite dangerous to cross into the town centre,
Stay was as good as expected. But I was let down again by the Accor booking system. Which seems incapable of making multiple bookings without making an error. In this case charging me twice (again) for the same booking
Always a good stay, staff very helpful, rooms lovely, close to town and convenient to all other roads if travelling elsewhere. Didn't eat there this time but have eaten in the past and it was reasonable - good value for the price paid. If you are wanting a decent hotel for a reasonable price this is the one.
The hotel was in general good condition. located nicely near the city centre. The facilities wee good. Room I had was of a good size. Bed was comfortable but pillows a litte hard. Breakfast was good. Disappointed in evening meal choice. Generally great value hotel
Stayed with my partner. We have stayed here b4 and all ok. But this time it was double the price, room wasn't ready. And it was full of cobwebs. The protector on the mattress covered LOTS of stains and marks. Reception was unmanned both getting there and on leaving. Also not a smile was seen during our stay.. last time for me. For £100 For a bed for the night I would expect better!!
Room was clean and bed was excellent. Hotel situated right next to busy roads and roundabout can be quite noisy. Breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. To walk in to town means crossing busy roads (no over or under pass or traffic lights).
Shower only had hot or hotter ... Bed a bit hard ... Lamps had random combinations when switched on ... More milk and sugar would be nice for drinks after a long journey. For the money it was a bargain ... Just could be better
Hotel is in a good location with the centre of Chesterfield a 5 minute walk. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfy. The down side is there is no air conditioning which means you have to open the windows as the rooms are very hot even without heating on. Because this hotel is bordered by two arterial main roads it meant a lot of traffic noise all night. For a modern hotel it should have air conditioning. Would have gave hotel a very good rating if not for this.
Good hotel, centrally placed in Chesterfield, sizeable room with double bed, en suite facilities and TV. Self service breakfast available at a premium payment. Friendly staff. 24 hour reception and a lift available for the three floors.
This building is very hot and stuffy, especially the bedrooms. Also staff are more intent on chatting to each other rather that clearing tables of glasses etc. Pool table could do with an upgrade.Drinks extremely expensive in bar.
Booked in here for two nights on the strength of several stays at another Ibis. Wish I'd gone elsewhere! The staff (mostly British) didn't appear very bothered about customer satisfaction. Yes, they did exchange a towel which was found upon our arrival to be soiled, and they did repair a faulty reading light - when I reported it as faulty, the receptionist said "Will that be a problem?" I'm not sure why she thought I was reporting it if it wasn't going to be a problem. It failed again within 30 minutes of use, the following evening. Their attitude was quite surly and unfriendly. At breakfast, I requested poached eggs - something always readily available at other Ibis branches - only to be told the kitchen didn't have the facilities for poaching eggs. By the repulsive look of the scrambled eggs, nor did it have facilities to do scrambled! Ended up having beans on toast - a first for me at breakfast. At check-out, I reported the second failure of the lamp and all I got was a mumbled "Sorry about that" delivered in a manner which suggested he really couldn't give a toss. Suggest you avoid this establishment if at all possible.
Got 3 nights for price of 2. Clean and good value .will use hotel again. Breakfast not included in price but wetherspoons 200yds away if you want cheap good value food. Will keep checking for deals for hotel
We have stayed at several Ibis hotels around the country and the Chesterfield one was up to their usual high standard. The location was excellent, near to the edge of town and the main roads. The hotel made a good base to visit the crooked spire and town, also it was near to Chatsworth House and the peak district.
Good for car drivers - except that I was a pedestrian. While the hotel itself is not far from the town, and 10 minutes walk to the railway station, access for walkers is poor, as the building is surrounded by busy main roads with no pedestrian crossings. You do rather take your life in your hands just trying to reach it. Equally, there is no direct walking route to the front door, you either walk half way round the building to the vehicle entrance, or scramble down a well-used slope through the boundary hedge. The direct route to or from the station is not signed, and goes through car parks and minor roads, not easy to find when you are new to the town. Having said all this, once in the hotel, it is fine, with helpful staff and decent rooms. If you want a quiet location, ask for a triple-glazed room at the front, even though the view is over busy roads. You can't (easily) open the window, but then you likely won't want to, even if there is no air-con.
Was not expecting luxury or even business class, but was expecting a room that I could sleep in and not have a disturbed night because of the heat. Opening the window was not an option due to the hotel being right on a major round about, and you can imagine how the heat amplified the aforementioned Feet stench.
