Good position for seeing Bradford, Shipley, Haworth and surrounding areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room of a good size although a little on the cool side considering it to be cold January. Plenty of breakfast choice.
Drafty windows, but good overall service. The windows don't close fast, and as it was sub-zero outside with a cold wind, I had to go to reception for an extra portable heater. The breakfast was good. Shipley station was a couple of minutes walk, a bonus for me as I was using the trains.
Love this place. We have stopped here a few times. It’s at the side of the canal. The food menu is very basic but the pub next door does lovely meals. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Good location.
We stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year when visiting family and it is great value for money. Though not luxurious the rooms are clean, comfortable and quite spacious anc the staff are always helpful and friendly. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Saltaire village and Shipley railway station and food is served in the hotel and the pub next door.
arrived 1st january good location. staff very friendly. good nights sleep very quiet. best shower we have ever had. nothing to complain about at all. would definitely stay here again and recomend to friends and family
We stayed for 3 nights to see my parents for Xmas. They were only 5 miles down the road, so the location was ideal. Being by the canal was good for walking and maybe a reason to stay hear again, full marks.
Nice location Friendly Staff Nice breakfast with basic but good choices. Nice bathrooms and beautiful shower but small and thin towels. The rooms are comfortable for short stay but the carpets are too thin and horrible dark colour may need replacing.
We have stayed at the Shipley ibis on many an occasion over the last couple of years. We have found the standard to be consistent , whilst not the plushest of hotels it is good value for money with friendly staff, rooms a little basic but with a comfortable bed.
We had a great return trip to this hotel - very handy for visiting Saltaire (by foot) and Skipton (on the train). The rooms are large and the facilities all you need for a pleasant comfortable stay. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We ate at the Waterside restaurant just across the canal from the hotel - delicious food and friendly service.
I have been staying regularly at this hotel every couple of months for almost two years. I regard it as excellent value for money. The rooms are always clean and well kept and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are always friendly and always make a four night stay a pleasant one, they are great!
Saltaire is one of the North of England's great experiences. Now a World Heritage Site, I have enjoyed Saltaire for many years. It has a splendid site on the River Aire and Leeds and Liverpool canal. Salts Mill is beautifully conserved, offering one of the best breakfasts in Britain, great galleries, a stimulating bookshop, and certainly the best selection of housewares in Europe. Beyond the mill there is the leafy Roberts Park, the tramway, the beautiful Congregational Church, and the heritage rich settlement itself. Sadly the Ibis does not have such quality. Basically sound, it fails on key details. The staff cannot access the new advance check in system and tell you that you have no booking. The room was short of any soap and shampoo. The staff are friendly, but not well trained. The hotel or its staff offer little local information. The beautiful canal side walk to Salts Mill is signed, but the signs are totally hidden. Nothing is mentioned about the fast, low coast and regular electric train service to the centres of Leeds and Bradford. There is no environmental information at all. This hotel has potential, but could and should be much better
When you just need a clean room, plenty of safe parking, somewhere to use as a base and a very good breakfast, this is the place to be. Very convenient for local attractions in the area. Have stayed here on many occasions and will continue to stay here Great value for money
I had a bit of trouble booking the right deal through the website so I called the hotel. The lady I talked to was really helpful and she soon had me sorted. Parking next to the hotel and check in was easy enough and the room was a good size, clean and tidy. The breakfast was great, help youself to what you want (the sausages were gorgeous). All the staff we talked to were friendly and we both got the impression that they all enjoyed their jobs. We had a great stay and will return.
Very helpful and obliging staff. Comfortable room looking out onto the canal. I think that minor improvement could be made such as an additional waste bin in the bedroom and extra towels. other than this it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
The bathroom smelled of stale urine and drains..was reported but nothing done. Wasnt offered an alternative but told it would be sorted..it wasnt. We were back late and nothing had changed. Next morning I reported it again and offered complimentary breakfast but was being picked up in five mins. Was told to email in but lost the card.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room with all facilities (tea making, television, hair dryer ect) Great location with restaurant and bar. First class breakfast. Literature in room explaining services available. Removing telephones may be counter productive as not everyone has a mobile or wants to text requests. However, a stay in this hotel is always a pleasure and I hope it continues to offer this very good service.
I have stayed here numerous times over the last few years. The standard has sometimes dropped slightly, this time the whole experience was excellent. The guys who work there are charming and helpful, the room was spotless, the breakfast good. I have already booked my next stay. I do not think that, for the money you can go wrong staying here.
Excellent value for money. Clean and comfortable room and pleasant staff. Well situated with pleasant walks along the canal from the door step to Saltaire. Close to railway line for trips into Bradford or Leeds. We would stay here again.
Clean but bare rooms. Good staff. Breakfast good value, big choice.Convenient for Bradford centre. Good casual style breakfast. Excellent wifi connections. Could do with a bigger car park! A double bed for a single room, very unusual but appreciated.
Having stayed several times it is always a pleasure to stay in a perfect location very close to the canal leading to Saltaire. I highly recommend this hotel in every way. Staff are so friendly and so welcoming and have never forgotten us when ever we return.
