Having stayed at this hotel several times in the past, we decided to go there again for two nights in September and booked the room several weeks in advance. However, when we arrived, there was no room available for us although our booking was in the booking system. After a bit of waiting, we were given a drafty room, which obviously had been made ready in a hurry, as there were still a dirty cup and an empty bottle of the previous guest on the table and a bag in the cupboard. Then, on the second night when we returned later in the evening, we found the door to our room open! Probably a member of staff had entered the room and left the door ajar. How this can happen in a hotel is beyond our comprehension!! We complained about it straight away, and we were promised that the manager (whose shift started about half an hour later, at 10.30pm) would look into the matter, have a look at the CCTV footage and check what had gone wrong. When we checked out the next morning, we asked whether a message had been left for us, but there was none. We were told that the manager's shift had already ended and that there was no-one in charge who we could ask about the matter. We were told that the manager would get in touch with us, and we double-checked that the hotel had the correct e-mail address. More than four weeks have passed now and - nothing. We are still waiting for an explanation and a word of apology. So, there is not a single reason why we should recommend this hotel or come back and stay there again. All in all: highly unprofessional management, no customer service.
