We have stayed many times in your hotels in Germany and France we are members of your Accor priority Club and have until now been satisfied with your different hotel chains. We had following experience with this last booking. We had planed to spend 1 night from den 2 to the 3 of December and had booked the room on the internet in October, all was well. As a surprise my wife decided later on to take Friday the 1 of December off, as the 2 was my birthday, then we could stay 2 nights in Ibis Budget Flensburg City. I then contacted the hotel directly by phone to get another night added to my reservation, witch was done and I got a confirmation directly from the hotel manager in Flensburg for the 2 nights stay, see attached. On the 28 of November I received a possibility to check in by mail from you, this was a Automatically generated mail, for the night from the 2 to the 3 that I had booked electronically, so I didn’t think anything wrong by that, and confirmed it, as the other reservation was confirmed by credit card over the phone directly with the hotel in Flensburg. As we arrived to check in the code on the paper we had received for the 2 night booking from the hotel directly by mail didn’t Work, so we contacted the reception and got in at 3,15 pm anyway to find out that we were no longer in the system for the first night stay and that the hotel was booked out, so the option was to wait until 6 pm to see if any no show rooms would become available )very risky as hotels were selling out) or to be moved to the Handewitt Ibis Budget outside the city. We opted for the 2nd choice as we had friends WHO had come from South of Hamburg to spend time with us at the weinacht markt in the city and they were waiting, we took our car to Handewitt and jumped in a taxi back to the city, the reason to book in the city hotel was that all was in walking distance and we could enjoy the Christmas spirits without to be thinking about driving. I understand from the manager that the system canceled the first night when I electronically checked in for the 2nd night, how was I to know that? So we ended up with an frustrating afternoon where we should have been enjoying ourselves, missing time with our friends and in addition 2 taxi bills we normally wouldn’t have had, for this we seek compensation.
