It was always a nice experience to stay with IBIS as we will expect the same design and service from Accor Group. Breakfast was excellent with a wide spread of variety. the only downside will be the lack of parking space and the charges that the guest have to pay.
Location was good, although a little difficult to get into the first time. However, room, service and food are excellent. Pleasant staff always willing to to help and service staff friendly and diligent. Great Stay.
As a regular guest I rate this Hotel as a good centrally located place to stay.It is handy to the City by motorway & a 24hr supermarket.Breakfast was well presented and the selection was perfect. The room was clean & well presented.
Friendly Staff That Treat You Like Family! Great Dining! Comfortable Clean Rooms! Great Place To Stay Especially after Driving for 5 hours to get to Auckland and then Driving around Auckland for another 5 to 6 hours to do Business! Lovely not having to worry about finding a place to unwind, have a Great Dinner and Good Nights Rest! All Good! Thanks Ibis Ellerslie and Wonderful Staff!!! :)
Although we only stayed one night, it was well worth it. we had friends coming to pick us up. They travelled from the North Shore. Ibis Ellerslie was the perfect choice. Close to auckland, for us travelling there by train from Britomart Very close to the motorway, for our friends who came to collect us for a trip south.
I'm fussy with my accomodation and this Is one of the best. Would always stay here. The staff and service is amazing ( ran out of milk and they arrived quickly with real milk not the tiny container) . the location is fantastic .. the rooms are tidy and well presented . Nothing is too much trouble it seems .. my only drawback is I do find the mattress very hard , it that just me as I do like a softer mattress. You can't go past this hotel for service and value
The wait time to check in was quite a while but it was a Saturday afternoon so I guessing that's why. Room was fine. Bar area drinks and dinner were fine to. Mine only complaint would be breakfast, it was terrible. Fruit ran out and they seemed to take forever to refill. No brown bread it was all white of various sorts. Homemade baked beans as the sign said were disgusting, they should stick to traditional baked beans!! Bacon was cold, hash browns were cold unless you could get one from directly under the heat lamp and even the eggs I ordered over the counter were cold by the time I got them.
Spent a night here on our 25th Anniversary. During online check-in I requested some flowers and a card in the room and was happy to pay extra. On arrival there was a very nice bouquet of a dozen red roses along with a scattering of chocolate kisses and a handwritten card. My wife was very happily impressed and it made our stay. On checkout I found that there was no extra charge for this and commend the hotel for a wonderful service. The room was clean and tidy, sheets crisp, and restaurant and bar very good. Overall an excellent visit for us and we'd definitely recommend it and stay again ourselves.
We were busy both days so we really only needed a Clean Comfortable room for the nights. The Ibis provided us with everything we needed. It was quiet and we slept very well both nights We had breakfast both mornings
our rooms weren't ready booking in notable was at 1pm we came back 2pm we had booked 2 rooms only 1 available and that had to get room checked by house keeping make sure OK before we could move in the desk chair broke when my son sat on it, chair was taken away but not replaced so had to sit on bed to use desk not ideal
Nice and clean, also the food was great, the personnel was a little lack-luster, run off their feet look with forced smiles. All in all, good stay. We stayed in Rotorua Ibis a couple weeks ago, not nice place, but the personnel was great, now this Ibis is very nice, and the personnel not great. Price a little high for what you do get. Thanks
The room was adequate, the bathroom was dated and in need of an update and not the cleanest. Bed was clean but room lacked information on Ibis, bars, facilities. It said to look on the tv using your remote. You cold get to the information page but then nothing worked to scroll or access information. It simply made the process that much harder and having to phone reception to ask them about things. The jug in the room looked like something you might use for camping needs to be thrown out and replaced.
I travel to Auckland on trips requiring an overnight stay reasonably frequently. I've always found this hotel reasonably priced with all that you need for a very comfortable, enjoyable stay in Auckland. Thee bed is extremely comfortable and access to the Acacia restaurant is very handy.
I recently stayed here & the Hotel met my Ibis expectations.Carparking can be tight at times however I did not experience any problems.the Hotel is handy(by vehicle) to a supermarket & the city centre.
Our family went up to Auckland for one night and stayed at the Ibis Ellerslie. Great staff, really friendly and accommodating. The bar and breakfast staff were second to none. Would definitely recommend this hotel to out of towners. Thank you Ibis Ellerslie.
We have stayed at the IBIS Ellerslie a few times now. Each time we have been warmly welcomed and the reception staff are super friendly. Last time my Husband needed his bike housed as he was riding the next day. They were so helpful. The rooms are always clean and for a large hotel we have never found it to be noisy. The bar area is a very relaxed environment and you feel welcome. Would stay again.
Nice room for the night - need to sleep well and we did. Has everything you need on hand. Comfy bed! Parking is an issue with the car parks being too close together so that it makes it hard to get out of your car if you have a car on either side.
Rooms are very small creating difficulty accessing luggage, this is definitely a place I would only use in future for a 1 night stay. Parking is inadequate, and even as an Accor member we were not told there was a $15.00 fee per night until we arrived. The hotel is good otherwise, with close proximity to the railway station
Our stay was excellent from the moment we arrived up to the day we left. The reception staff was very helpful and efficient. We had dinner at the Acacia Restaurant and the food was fresh and yummy. The oysters were my favourite, they were so fresh. The waitress, Clarissa was friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. Our room was clean and the sheets were so comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay here; the room was not spacious, but it was adequate. The bar & dining were fabulous, far better than expected, and we had excellent service from all the staff we met. An excellent place to stay if at a conference or attending the Ellerslie races. The only reason for downgrading the overall review is the paid parking - barrier arms in & out, & narrow spaces, also a long narrow parking lot meant quite a walk in the rain, and even further if you used the adjacent public parking. Also the signage directing you to the hotel was not prominent, a few more discreet but noticealbe signs would be good.
