Standard Ibis, a group that I use often including overseas. Hiccup this time in the dining room administration. Hotel info sheet said evening meal until 9-30pm. I went down at 7-45 and was told that no further orders were being taken. If they wish to empty the dining room by 9-30, it would help if the information card stated the time for last orders, and a notice was at the dining room entrance offering suggestions for nearby restaurants.
Minimalist accommodation with all essentials provided: Coffee/tea/ kettle, iron/ironing board/ TV (with movie selections: standard and adult categories)/ great WiFi speed/ alarm clock / easy to reach light switches from beds/air-con/ shower facilities. My bathroom experience had been spoiled to some extent, because a previous guest must have been smoking there - I reported this to management which emphasized their non-smoking policy. (Hence my "Cleanliness" rating as Very Good, instead of Excellent). Breakfast and lunch was available - a bit too expensive for my liking, but this is a very subjective comment. Overall this property is value for money, very recommendable and I have stayed here before, as well as in the Ibis in Brisbane.
Is located in the central CBD and walking distance to highlights such as Cuba street, Te Papa and the waterfront. Easy walk to great restaurants. We had great service and clean rooms. Would stay here again. Thank you.
convenient location, quiet rooms & good size. Didn't dine on location this time but i did enjoyed the complementary drink that was offered. The staff were friendly & helpful. Plenty of information available for sight seeing or shopping.
Ideal hotel in central city close to public transport.- easy walk to train station nearby and bus stops to airport.. Areas of interest and many eateries to choose from also in the vicinity. Clean and comfortable, and professional service.
My wife and I stayed at IBIS Wellington 23rd - 27th October. As usual, it was a great stay. I will be back there again later in November. IBIS is so central to everything in Wellington, so recommend this hotel. Dennis and Wendy L.
Always a great place to stay in Wellington (20+ stays now). Nice and central to sporting arenas, Theatre and concert venues, restaurants and bars plus plenty of shopping on offer all within a 15 to 20 minute walk. We'll be back in the not too distant future.
Did not start well. My flight arrived in morning - I went to hotel and asked for early room occupancy. I was told 2 pm was check in time - OK. I asked if they could call me and let me know when a room was available. They took my number but I never received a call - very poor. I checked in at 4 pm after walking around town doing nothing for 5 hours. Room was great - large clean and no odours. Breakfast was included but if it must be a buffet can things please be hot and not look like they have been sitting in the dish for 2 hours. Also food should be topped up before it runs out. I missed on scrambled eggs and tomatoes were hard as. Overall good but need better communication in reception / house keeping and in dining room to kitchen.
I always like staying at the Wellington Ibis. It all works smoothly - online chack-in helps reception staff. It is so convenient in central CBD and good value. Breakfast does not have a vast choice but perfectly adequate - beautiful croissants. Evening meal absolutely fine. Bed very comfortable indeed.
Was the smallest hotel room I have had Not value for the cost. Will not go back. We had a late check out til 5.00pm but left early. Room was dated could do with an update. Breakfast was not worth $35.00
From my arrival to the time I checked out the staff looked after me and provided all the benefits that Accor promise, and what's more I did not have to ask, remind or inquire about these, they were simply part of my stay. The restaurant staff too were excellent and food was lovely. We came back from a late function and thought a desert for ourselves a some friends that were with us would be a nice finish to the evening. The Staff were more than happy to serve us even though it was only desert we were wanting. The location in the CBD is excellent and with underground parking makes Ibis the perfect location for us with easy access to Taxi's. Looking forward to our next stay Ibis, top marks
Can’t fault. Was great value for money and is all you need for travelling. Spacious room, clean room and bathroom, services were all great, and the dessert at the vivant restaurant was delicious (we only ordered dessert). Central location, simply can’t fault.
My booking was for 2 adults in a "comfortable guest room with 1 Queen bed. Instead we landed up in a disability room which had one small Double bed. There was no bath in the bathroom only a small wheelchair access shower which flooded the whole bathroom when you had a shower. The basin was also stained.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ibis. I had a brief trip to Wellington and it was great to be so central to the main shopping centre, the waterfront and other venues. My room was very clean and comfortable. Team on the front desk and cafe were very helpful and addressed any requests promptly, and with a smile.
Heart of the CBD, good location with restaurant & 24-hour service available. TV difficult to operate which caused additional cost for movie hire; otherwise recommend the stay for those looking for a central Wellington experience
This middle of the road hotel was beautifully clean and well presented, The food in the dining room was delicious and the staff were at all times attentive. The room was basic but clean and we enjoyed our stay.
An excellent budget hotel. Extremely central, within walking distance of all the main attractions and numerous restaurants, and the hotel itself has an extremely good restaurant, An added bonus is the taxi rank just outside the hotel.
While not exceptional we were very happy with our stay, staff were very hospitable and professional, the room was clean and well appointed, bed was comfortable. Location was perfect. Vivant restaurant provided a good selection for breakfast and dinner.
Stayed in the ibusiness suite, and was very impressed and pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. I always stay here when I am in Wellington as it is a very central location and handy to everything.
When booking the room, we were upgraded to the top floor with a view. Arrived at the room to find it situated next to the guest laundry, and a view into the back of the adjoining building. All good the first night, night two, laundry was busy from 4.30 through to 10.00, struggled to hear the TV. Not sure why we ended up in that room, didn't appear to be that busy. Mentioned it to receptionist but received unsympathetic response.
