We have stayed many times at this hotel and have always been very pleased. The rooms are spacious and bright, some with balconies with glorious views. The beds are very comfortable with a pillow-top. The buffet breakfast, included, is excellent with great choice of breads, pastries, ham, cheese and freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is in a lovely park with ancient trees and handy for touring the area.
Nice big room, close to centre of town on large site. No bar or restaurant, but you can use the Mercure next door. Both lifts were being serviced one day, which was a drag as our room was on the 4th floor. Simple breakfast
We stayed only one might in this hotel, which is perfectly located within walking distance of the famous Citè of Carcassonne, and having a free private parking saves you the Citè parking fee. The family room which was given us was spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked very well, wgich is important in a hot end of August day. Staff was corteous and efficient, although we perceived a bit of understaffing, the only person at the reception being in charge of everything, inclluding the bar. Breakfast was good and plentiful, as usual in Ibis Styles hotels. The only reason I do not give a 5 stars mark is that the room had no fridge, and therefore, in a hot day, the only way to get a glass of cold water was to go to the internal bar.
I had to make a business trip to Aix-Les-Bains and was looking for a simple /non-posh place to stay. The hotel was quiet and clean, staff was very nice, the free wifi was fast and working flawlessly (did coding on remote machine wo pb). Connection with Aix-Les-Bains with the regional bus #1 is ~ 15 min, the hotel is very close to the station "La Guicharde". There were two minor things that might be inconvenient: * the reception closed at 21h, which seems relatively early to me. It might be there is a fall-back mechanism to check in with a credit card in case of late arrival. * the bus from Aix stops driving to Gresy relatively early (~21h or so), so in case one is out for a dinner in Aix, he/she will likely have to walk back. For me neither of these were a pb and the price was very good indeed. The hotel was Excellent for my use-case.
The Ibis rooms are basic accommodation and hence no air-conditioning, as it is on a busy main road we were unable to open the balcony doors due to noise on the warm night we were there. We had room 401 which was right next to the lifts, which we hadn't realised until we went to bed and heard the lift going up and down, so not a good night's sleep. Room was clean and beds comfortable, service was also good. The outdoor pool was a welcome relief on a warm day after walking around Aix-les-Bains. Hotel had ample free parking. No tea/coffee facilities in the room, but refreshments and croissant available in reception area, although we were put off the croissant after seeing an East European family fingering all to croissant to find the best, not very hygienic! The Spa next door was not worth bothering with, unless you wanted treatment for a specific ailment.
This was the final hotel during an 8 day stay in France. Having stayed at two Ibis Budget Hotels in both Thonon les Baines and Menton, I was very surprised to find that the supposedly up-market Styles Hotel offered no air conditioning in the bedrooms, whilst the downmarket Budget hotels did!? I don't expect to pay more, but then get less. The ambient outside temperature as we arrived was 25C and without any sign of air-con in any of the public areas of the hotel let alone the bedrooms, the air in the hotel was hot and fetid particularly in the hotel corridors. Whilst the room had a balcony, leaving the patio door open gave little respite from the heat. I did get a free bottle of water in the room (nice touch) and a packet of kids sweets (not sure why). It was a double room, so I was curious as to why only one bottle not two? There is no fridge in the room either to chill said water. The Lifts are in need of significant work, they reminded me of pre-war service lift in a factory I once worked in, as they clunked, banged and rattled their way up and down. The breakfast was the usual fare, but not a pleasant experience as the room was uncomfortably hot. Breakfast TV was on and so was piped music making a strange cacophony so early in the morning. On check out at 6.30am I was told by the the receptionist that I needed to pay mandatory 1 euro day tax in addition to paying my bill in advance as I checked in the previous night. Having stayed in eight different hotels in eight days, this was the only hotel who felt it necessary to implement this tax. Had I not been pushed for time, I may have argued the toss, but paid with reluctance. I would have thought it is not beyond the wit of Accord to ensure all taxes are included in the price of the room for the duration of the pre-booked stay. An alfresco evening meal in the Mercure Hotel located within the same grounds was however a pleasant experience.
We just stayed for a stopover in a family room. The hotel was easy to find with free and spacious parking. The hotel was nice and clean. The outside of the hotel needs some paint/makeover to give an even better impression when you arrive.
Different to the corporate Ibis, this is an older hotel. We had a lovely large room, 2 balconies, and great views. However, there was no air-conditioning, so in temperatures of 30C+, this was uncomfortable at night, and it was difficult to sleep. One of the 2 lifts was out of action for all of our 3 day stay, and the second broke down each day. The breakfast was good, and the staff helpful. The hotel just needs some TLC
I reserved this hotel because from what I red in its description I understood is next to thermal hot water and close to the lake. Lamentably at our arrival we were informed the near by thermal institute was only for medical porposes and not for general public. To go to this one you have to take 2 buses. The same with the lake and the center of town, you have to take a bus. At least you get from the hotel a card to ride the local buses for free. Breakfast was reasonably
This isn't an especially glamorous hotel, but it meets all the basic requirements, offers easy access on the outskirts of town with plenty of free parking, and charges a very competitive price. Breakfast is a little on the skimpy side (no eggs or cheese), but all in all it's a fine place to spend a night.
Great hotel for a night's stop over, however, the bar closed very early and no room service available also no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Very colourful 'funky retro' colour scheme and very clean, a touch too warm during the night but comfortable beds. Very friendly, helpful Staff. Within walking distance of town centre.
