Comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast. Good location, with ease of access to public transport and the railway station and the city centre. Comfortable bed, clean room and pleasant outlook. Will return again.

Good hotel. In the center of Sheffield, 10 min walk from the train station. Room was modern and spotlessly clean. loved the little socket pod with usb ports in it. The only negative was the rubbish bin in the room was a little on the small side, But thats being very picky. breakfast was also good with a good choice.I would defiantly stay there again.

I spent two nights at the Ibis - I have been here several times before but not since the most recent refurbishment, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The room is well laid-out, bigger than I remembered, and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable mattress. The tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated (how about a couple of sachets of Earl Grey?) and the ease of use of the USB plugs also. Excellent free wifi. Pleasant and helpful staff, and the free mini-tablet to use as a city guide is a genius touch, even if I didn't use it.

Stayed for two nights with family, rooms were very good, and well insulated. Used the bar, but didn't eat at the hotel. Car park very close by, with a discount ticket from the hotel, only 8.50. Would use this hotel again.

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was lovely and breakfast was basic but plentiful and fresh. Only downside was having to park in the car park across the road which was expensive even with the discount provided by hotel

I've stayed in this hotel before but the last time had problems with the double glazing not being effective. This time absolutely no complaints. Looked as though the double glazing had been replaced. Very handily positioned for access to the railway station, tram and city centre

A little shabby. I have stayed at the IBIS Bristol Temple Meads which in comparison is by far better. Sheffield could do with a make-over to make it more welcoming and the rooms could do with some improvement.

Once we had found how to get to the entrance of the hotel all was well. Very clean modern and well equipped hotel that gave us excellent access to all the main facilities of Sheffield. The tram stops very near so access to other parts of Sheffield is easy. The hotel was exceptionally quite considering its proximity to the city. The breakfast was adequate. We would certainly come again.

Room stunk. Beds uncomfortable. Trams loud. No working wifi. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates sleep. We couldn't sleep due to noise, smell and the bed/pillows were like stone.

We often stay here when visiting Sheffield for concerts. It is handily located within easy walking distance of the station. The rooms and beds are comfortable and the breakfast is better than might be expected. The staff are friendly. It meets our needs at a fair price.

Stay here regularly. Staff welcoming and do their best to help the guests. Recently refurbished and better for it - you need to keep on top of these things. Good location - railway station five mins walk, secure multi-storey next door. Ten minutes to Leopold Square where lots of restaurants can be found.

The room was clean , the staff were very friendly , Nothing was a bother. They helpfully gave us a map and explained directions. Breakfast was good I would stay again , there was a metro into the city centre.

Room was clean and as expected but at 2.00am I was woken by the room next door by their TV on as load as possible and the occupants talking/ shouting this continued well past 2.30am so I rang reception, they asked the next room to be quite but 5 mins later they were at it again to on full and shouting, so I went to reception to report it again and the night manager said he cannot ask people not to talk, I responded at 3.00am you can tell them to be quite or ask them to leave. At 3.45 I went back to reception and I was offered to move rooms not move the ones making the noise! So I had to move to a twin room next to the road by this time it was 4.30am! At 7.30 I went to complain and was offered a 50% refund to which I demanded a 100% refund as I had only had 5-6 hours sleep in two different rooms. The point to our stay was the British national swimming competition something that we have been working for a year only to have a poor nights sleep. Beware future ponds forge swimmers look elsewhere!

Room and service were great. Good position, sufficiently close to the railway but some directions would have been helpful. Clinical atmosphere in reception and the restaurant was absolutely soulless which might be why I was the only diner.....

Very good value for money and a great location for the City centre. Staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive. Only slight downside was the refurbishment work being carried out at the reception area,.

Part of the hotel is still being re-decorated and developed, on my second night people who had booked 4 or 5 rooms went out and came back to the hotel at 4am, lots of people running around shouting, laughing and at one point tried my door mistaking my room for theirs, the staff came up 2 or 3 times to quite them down, finally went quite at about 5am and i was up at 6.30am to go to the event i came for. i was cream crackered..... The staff were great on arrival and i had no problem on the first night. i complained to the staff on duty about the second night, they apologised but in reality i was totally fobbed off. The reception area was also the breakfast / dining room and the bar which had one lager pump, yes one,

I stayed for one night on business, checked in on Thursday evening and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The room was lovely, clean and modern with everything you would need for a short stay, the hotel was very central; close to both the train station and city centre shops and restaurants. Beds and pillows were also super comfortable, not something you usually get with a budget hotel! Only negatives were that there was a lot of construction work going on in the lobby when I checked in at about 6pm, although they were gone when I left the hotel at 7pm. There was also a charge to leave my suitcase while I attended a conference the next day which something that I have never come across before.

Hotel was about 10 minute walk to the Crucible. Room was an OK size, would have preferred a bit bigger for a two week stay. No complaints with the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel. Had one meal which was very nice. Would stay again

On arrival 20/4/17 at 4pm the reception area was a complete dust cloud and a lot of noise and was advised by a member of staff that the works was to finish at 4pm. filled in the registration sheet on a clipboard outside on the pavement. Once I had the keys to the room just dropped off the bags and left the hotel at 4.20pm and the noise was still going on. I was advised by email prior to check in of works being carried out on ground between 10-4.but I was not prepared for what looked like entering a building site.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights whilst in Sheffield for the Snooker. On arriving we were very surprised by the state of the place - everything covered in dust sheets. We were informed that there is building work going on and the place is being refurbished. When I mentioned to the receptionist that it would have been nice to receive an e-mail warning us I was told they were only sending e-mails to those who would be affected by noise. The rooms are nicely decorated but a bit cosy. The bathroom was very clean. The towels are on the small side and we asked for extra. I requested decaf tea and coffee in the room and this was provided with no problems. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in walking distance of the town centre. Breakfast is currently being served in a small area by reception. It is good value. Overall it was good for a budget hotel.
