We generally love Accor properties, however the management of this place is let down in two areas. The hotel generally is fine, in a good location and the rooms were fine. However we were extremely disappointed that despite being given the expected free drinks voucher for being a Le Club member we were unable to use it having returned just after 11pm we were told the bar closes at 11pm. That would have been fine it we had been advised of this at the time we checked in, but we were not. Then breakfast was a disaster. Mainly one person was running around trying to keep everything replenished, but this meant cups kept running out (in the end just paper cups were provided) Hot items were missing, despite it being topped up twice orange juice (which was ambient not chilled) kept running out as it was in a relatively small jug. Pasty items were also very sparce.

The staff were very welcoming when we arrived. Check in was simple and fast. The hotel is in the middle of a make over so we did have to step over workman laying the floor but they soon disappeared and it wasn't an issue. The shower was excellent but there could have been more tea and milk on the hospitality tray, twice i went to reception to ask for more. The bed was comfortable but as I was in a single it could have been wider. The only downside was breakfast. I was in Coventry for the CAMRA AGM and so were many other guests. Therefore we came down to breakfast at almost the same time. There was not enough seating, items ran out on the breakfast bar and were not replaced eg bacon! The one member of staff struggled to do everything at the same time! At times it became shambolic. This was due to the sheer weight of numbers, on the Monday when most people left the breakfast was a dream. The hotel is situated close to the ring road, therefore walking is required to get anywhere.

It's basic accommodation only, but it was very clean and happily lacking in that rather stuffy smell that many hotel rooms have. Bed comfy, sheets very clean. Pillows were very hard, though. Noise didn't appear to travel between rooms (or I had very quiet neighbours!) but it did impinge significantly from a rather echoey corridor with some loud voiced men returning from the bar late at night. Breakfast was adequate. I paid a cheap price - which was fine. I wouldn't have been happy if I'd paid much more, though. A map of how to get around the centre of town - with the hotel marked on it - would have been useful. There was one on a wall, but it didn't show where the hotel was.

Great hotel very close to the railway station and town centre. We asked for quiet rooms and we were given rooms on the back of the hotel which was perfect. There was a refurbishment of the second (top) floor taking place and we were on the first floor but id not hear any work being done and would not have known about it except for the signs in reception apologizing for any inconvenience due to the work being done and the top floor access being blocked off. Breakfast was great plenty of choice and constantly topped up with fresh items. Yes the rooms are basic but have everything you need including TV, hairdryer, toilet shampoo and great powerful shower.

My first visit to the Ibis Coventry City Centre was good. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The only down side was that my rather was rather chilly - which when it was very cold outside wasn't ideal - and the room thermostat didn't appear to be working.

Check in was a bit strange when lady said "your room not ready yet that is if you actually have one" After we established i was booked in i was happy to leave my bag as i was a bit early anyway. i was informed the car park charge was £5 but was no mention of charge when booking direct with Ibis, never been charged in previous stays. The room was clean but no sink plug in bathroom seemed a waste of water, the blower heater was noisy and dried up the air in the room. The biggest disappointment was the bar meal, ready made soup was ok but the alleged cheese and ham toastie was embarrassing. I did question if it was toasted and they said it was. the filling was miserable and tastless and the service wasn't good. decided to give breakfast a miss, swift check out was swift and unlikley to return. Used Ibis for years and been satisfied.

This is the second time we have stayed at Ibis Coventry Central. It is very conveniently located, both for the City Centre and the railway station. Reception was efficient and problem free The breakfast was good, with ample quantities and choice. We had an evening meal in the hotel and that was also good. The room was comfortable. We note the lack of a room safe.

This Ibis is a very nice hotel. The room was comfortable & there was a shower, hard to find in the UK hotels. Staff were friendly, a minor problem was quickly solved. Dave on the front desk was Super+

Stayed at Ibis, pretty standard Ibis fayre. Good staff, decent breakfast & wifi. We use Ibis a cost effective improvement on other budget brands. They always seem to be better than Travelodge etc and you don't pay extra for decent wifi.

It is conveniently located and the room rate is reasonable. Spacious room and I like the option of paying a minimal fee for late check out until 5 pm. This is especially helpful if you have a night flight.

Catered well for my gluten free needs although not much choice of main meal out of hours. Luckily I love Chilli con carne. I had special toast served for breakfast. Would have liked a bath during our stay as well as a shower. Our room was quiet even with the window open and the beds were comfortable.

Fine for a short stay. Room clean and comfortable. Guests ignored by staff at the breakfast buffet which is distinctly average. Good location and value. Extra charge for parking (£5 daily for residents.

Don't need much for an overnight business stay but this hotel offered all that is needed. Parking charge is a bit steep. Staff very friendly and efficient. USB charging points in bedrooms a nice extra. Good choice fro breakfast.

I booked for a 3 night business trip, I was assignedd a room at Front of Building, this turned out to be noisy from Trafic and a bus stop outside. One of the curtains was missing a number of hooks and one of the windows coluld not be closed. I asked to change rooms in the morning. This was happily done resulting in 2 nights of better sleep. Rooms look a little tired.

I was at a refurbished new-look ibis the week before so this visit to an "old" ibis was a bit of a let down. Its clean, functional and basic but a bit austere. However I had a good night's sleep - which is what it is all about and the location was very convenient. Staff all very friendly. Breakfast was a bit sad - fatty bacon in red Tupperware style dishes - which is a shame when it costs almost as much as a Premier Inn breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station, city centre and the university. Just be aware that the ibis location near the ring road means all those walks all involve pedestrian subways. They are all well lit with cameras and I've never had a problem on all my visits to the city but it might be an issue for some.

Hotel is very well located, close to the railway station and adjacent to the city center. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Basic Room but comfortable bed and excellent shower. Breakfast was good and very reasonably priced.

We are doing three trade shows a year at the NEC, every time we stay here, because everything is just perfect for us, the location, only 10-15minutes driven distance to the NEC, the very short distance to the supermarkets and the restaurants that is very convenient for us . The only one thing I have to complain was: when we checked in this time , a staff gave us two rooms for the disabled people-we were not happy about that, anyway we have changed straight way.

i found my room to be clean and tidy. The hotel had excellent friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. I would be more than happy to stay there again. Excellent value for money.

Checked into the 1st bedroom, which had stains on duvet sheet. 2nd room we were given was big, but extremely cold, after putting heating on we thought it was not efficient as we would have taken some hours for the room to heat up, unfortunately another large stains on sheets. This time customer service came up to check the room next door, 3rd room sheets were okay, but the curtain came off is hooks as my husband pulled it close, with a closer look at the window, you could see daylight though it were it was not sealed properly. 4th room was checked before we moved, it had just been cleaned! It was warm, the sheets clean and windows sealed. Laundry service needs to be checked and the maintenance department need to be doing the job they are laud to do as a number of little things that I noticed would be standard procedure. Customer service person was extremely good at her job and did her best to resolve our problems. Would we stay there again, yes, but once it was refurbished as it is in desperate need.

My first experience of an Ibis Hotel was at Heathrow in 1994. It was a total nightmare, eventually resulting in a full refund. In the intervening years I've tended to avoid the brand, but on a brief visit to Coventry last week I had little room for manoeuvre in my choice of hotel. On this occasion I was pleasantly surprised (starting with very low expectations). The room was clean, quiet, and fairly spacious. Everything worked, apart from one electric socket, and the fixed desk was a little awkwardly shaped for my needs and physique. The receptionist Erika was particularly helpful. She gave me detailed instructions, including a city centre map, on how to walk to the bar where I was meeting my colleagues. She immediately offered me a discount on the buffet breakfast compared to the advertised price, which was competitive with nearby bars and cafés. She also called me a taxi for my departure. (All this was in stark contrast to 1994!) The breakfast itself was of the all-you-can-eat variety, with plenty of choice including the Full English.
