Everything was good, except the parking kassenautomat, which is located on the most unbeliveable spot at whole complex. 4 of 4 days it was rainy... almost thunderstorm, and drivers are forced to get wet, as the parking machine is located outside, near the ramp, so the only way for one to pay for the parking is to get out of the car and do the job. Not to mention multiple turning on/off the cold car, if nobody else is in it... it's not safe to leave the car unattended and running. Other than that, you should do something about the daily price. If the price is 4 €/day, why can't I pay it in advance and get the card which identifies my with multiple entry with my car. Now, if I leave the parking 3 times, I always have to pay 4€, if I use it for few hours. It's pretty misleading if your staff says that price for 24h is just 4€, as it's simply not. Do something about its. It's wrong.
Spotlessly clean, as usual with Ibis. This was my 1st stay here and I know now why I use Ibis on my trips to Hamburg. You know what you are going to get, which for me is very important. Friendly staff, clean room and very quiet, considering my room was facing the main road.
stayed at this hotel with my sister for a long weekend in Hamburg. Easy access (10min walk) from one of the metro stations. The Check-in system didn't really work for me as checked-in online prior to departure but then received an email on the day of check-in with room number and code but couldn't access my emails so still had to check-in at hotel to get this info... Bought breakfast off-site as thought it was rather dear for what it was
It's a very good hotel, easy check in-check out, no noise, very clean rooms, great room service... had 2 issues: 1- Not near any transportation, need to walk at least 15 minutes for the U ban, or bus. 2- I hit my head with the upper bed, and after 3 days still pain :( still good choice for sleep and leave early.
Ibis budget Hamburg Altona is like all Ibis budget hotels. Nothing less, nothing more. What surprised me, is the necessity to pay in order to park my car. Is it normal in Germany to have hotels without a private parking? Shade!
far from the city , Near to busstop and 8 min walk to the S-barn station, and 13 min to U-barn station.S-barn is near. Bit hard to find as there is not board on the Road. Ok for the money. Room is clean and neat. Bathrooms are bit small and room is also small.Trains run round the clock and that is the biggest advantage in Hamburg. If you want to reach via bus from Altona station then bus 188 i guess can take you to hotel in 20 min but ask for the nearest train station to reach to hotel.
The service at the Hotel (Reception; Room Service, Breakfast was perfect. The room very small. Bath etc. were very clean. Even though, that there were many guests at breakfast, staff was efficient. Price was substantial lower than other hotels same category.
We have spent 4 night at Ibis Budget Hamburg Altona. We would like to have such a room, where we can spend our nights comfortable. The room was clean, satisfied all the necessities of backpack travelers. There's a bus station very close, but achieve S-Bahn or U-Bahn took 5-10 minutes walk. The LED shower head was very funny.
Ibis Hamburg Altona is a good choice for budget travellers. It is easy to book and the price is competitive. It's simple to check-in. The room is clean and the internet service is very good. Nice hotel !
It was the cheapest hotel in Hamburg and it is situated exactly in my area of interest. It's the kind of one night stand hotel, max two nights. Clean, very simple and fair. Didn't had breakfast. Based on previous reviews I prefered to eat somewhere else.
Nice clean hotel, free wifi (but not the quickest) and the area is OK - the local S-Bahn station is a 9 minute walk away and takes you straight into town. Probably suitable for a very close couple or a single travellers as the rooms and en suite facilities are very cosy.
This hotel is very well run. We liked the services. The location is good and it offers parking service. If you com by night and you don't have a car, it is better to take a taxi because the train station is not so near. In general we appreciate this hotel.
Nice and clean hotel, suitable for sleeping over the night & hitting the road again! Proposal: add an extra pillow and liquid soap in bathroom! It is good that it is close to the highway but it brings the downside that there is quit a bit of noise when one opens a window ! Stuff is friendly as usual ! Keep going with the same quality !!
as my flight is 9pm i request late check out and i will pay if there any charges but the reception say no problem as you checked in 10 pm u can ???? but the next stuff the kick me out at 12pm and i try to pay they say the hotel is full i have to go out now this happen after i stay 3 days with them the English is hard with German :/
Rooms are typical of IBIS Budget - spartan, but clean and with what one expects in a lower cost Accor hotel. Wi-Fi could have been faster but was adequate and free. Parking is inexpensive (4 euros/day) and convenient. Location is a bit isolated without a car. Breakfast was adequate but minimal, at 9.50 Euros extra. Staff was efficient and helpful.
When we travel from the mediterenian sea we stop in Geneva region and are going to a ship from Kiel to Oslo that leaves 1400, and chek in time is 1200 at the latest. Then Hamburg is the closest Ibis to Kiel and not too faar to drive from Geneva!
No fuss, easy access, secure and inexpensive parking (important for overseas guests with car). 10 minutes walk to nearest station. Decent shops and eating close by. Good value all round, no problems..
first impress was a schock: bed looked liked someone just got up! but we stayed for 3days and we got more familiar. good breakfasf, friendly staff, nice fellow travellers, good value for money and windows that keep the noise out. good wlan........ just a strange way to do the beds
Comfortable bed, clean hotel, helpful staff, seven minute walk to the train station ten minute trip to central station. Wifi was excellent and breakfast was simple but perfectly OK especially for the very low price.
For a solo traveller, using public transport, needing a base in Hamburg for excursions to Lubeck, Helgoland, Kiel and Luneburg, this hotel was more than adequate. Th hotel is about 10 minutes walk from either Emilienstrasse or Osterstrasse on U2 (UBahn). I'd recommend using Osterstrasse, which has a lot more shops and restaurants in its relatively lively vicinity. Apart from a 'bistro/bar' immediately adjacent to the hotel, there was little else nearby (but there was Diebels Altbier available from the vending machine in the entrance foyer!) My room was clean ,as usual in any Ibis Budget, with a TV, a shower that got nice and hot, and a relatively comfortable bed. The view from my window was of a large adjacent office block - but I had not been expecting anything scenic! The breakfast choice was good, and the breakfast staff were polite and pleasant, so my days got off to a decent start. Hamburg public transport is brilliant, so the fact that this hotel is about 4 km out of town did not present any problem.
