I reached the Hotel during the service times - door closed, no receptionist. So I checked in with those check-in-computers known from every low-priced hotel.
I reached my room, Etap/Ibis budget standard. A small television, a double bed, a bunk bed over the double one, a shower in the middle of the room, a sink and a closable toilet chamber.
On the first look the room looked clean, I got towels and soap.
On the second look the shower cabin didn't appear that clean, the ground had dark deposits, pity...
The overall hotel seemed to be pretty old: Old lamps, old furniture, old carpet, everything looked very used and much-thumbed - except the breakfast area, which propably got modernised every now and then.
The location of the hotel is beyond the inner city of Cologne. You need to go by tram or get yourself a carsharing car (several were standing directly in front of the hotel). You need about 15 minutes to get into the city - it's okay. The hotel is in the middle of an enterprize zone, so don't expect much to go out or even to get something better to eat.
I wasn't pleased about the service in the hotel. The reception times didn't complied with the times written on the door. At checkout the receptionists did have problems to hand over a bill without typos... This paired with the unkempt look of the hotel result in my rating...
