As there was no booking registered when I turned up and the hotel was fully booked at the time, it is a bit difficult to rate this hotel. As I keep getting emails about my booking I assume it was in fact booked but turning up at midnight and finding nowhere to go is a bit annyoing!

Modern Ibis Budget just off the main road in Caen and only 20 mins from the ferryport. Bed was comfortable and the shower and toilet clean. We were on the ground floor which meant we were concerned about having our window open, which was a shame as it was warm.

I have used this hotel before despite that, if you arrived after the staff had gone and you were dependent on a computer to let you into the hotel and give you a pass word to your room. This time there was a charming young lady, at 11pm, to sort out the problem that I no longer had the credit card with which I had booked

This is a convenient and low cost stop over for traveling to or from the Caen ferry port. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Location is a little tricky when driving, especially during rush hour. There are shops and places to eat within walking distance. Staff were polite and helpful.

2 stays within 2 weeks of each other. Both times met by friendly, helpful staff who readily responded to our queries in broken French. Request for particular room granted and for extra pillows Room spotless and comfortable.

Liked the area, and the shops and restaurants were handy. Very quiet and so convenient for our journey from the port onwards. We felt we got what we paid for, and we cannot fault the cleanliness and friendly welcome.

Great for an overnight stop off the Portsmouth ferry. Very easy to locate. The hotel has recently been upgraded and was very clean and tidy. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The car park is not secured on a night, but appeared to be quite a safe area at the back of a small commercial centre. it was easy to get back onto the room south in the morning.

Tried to cancel 1 week ahead, you dont allow that, pretty under impressed with your inflexibility, yet you still want my opinion, well here goes. You will not now ever be my first choice of accommodation only in an emergency purely because I could not cancel and get at least a partial refund, I would have thought a week was enough notice but rules are rules and god forbid that you would ever show a bit of compassion. Yours Unimpressed

Comfortable beds, clean room, easy to find from the peripherique. The downsides were a lack of seating and even cutlery at breakfast. Guests shouldn't have to provide their own knives and spoons, which is what we did.

Great hotel - But noisy guests coming and going in the middle of the night (3:00am) slamming doors & talking loudly - very inconsiderate. So poor score for sleep quality. Room was very clean - spacious too.

Have stayed here many times before, It is the ideal location for my needs. After driving I can check in and walk across to the Buffalo Grill for my steak and drink. Also it's just a short drive to the large shopping mall. And a new group of shops has opened to the rear of the hotel. The rooms are fine and the bathroom is suitable with towels. There is a breakfast area which you can get a good continental that will set you up for the day. A good place for an overnight stop.

Stayed for one night before a morning ferry. Reception very helpful. Choice of eateries nearby, some with discounts for hotel guests. Had a peaceful night's sleep despite proximity to main road. The room was as expected, nice and clean. We would have liked more pillows, but the French tend to give only one.

Stayed one night prior to getting ferry home from Caen (Brittany Ferries). Comfortable beds , room clean. Location great next to retail park with shops and restaurants. Easy distance from ferry port. Highly recommended.

You get what you pay for with this budget hotel. The rooms are sparse with some very thin towels! But the beds are comfy and satisfactory bedding. What does excel is the quality of the breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was adequate for our needs - which was bed for the night after a ferry crossing before starting our trip south. It was a bit difficult to find but I knew this from reading other reviews before we set up so we were prepared. The Neon sign can be seen from the road and it is in a sort of 'out of town' shopping place. We had two young children and best to arrive late and go straight to bed.

The hotel was very clean and first impressions were good. It was excellent value for money - the breakfast particularly. Everything was set out ready. It was extremely enjoyable. Unfortunately there were loud guests in the hotel and we were awakened by young females shouting at about 3 in the morning. A good nights sleep is important to us as we have a long drive ahead from Caen down to South West France.

The hotel has been refurbished over the last couple of years we stayed here. Currently (Oct 2013) there are major building works adjacent to the hotel. These were not the problem but the builders were staying in the hotel. The noise did not abate until 2.15am and we had to be up at 6am to get the Ferry.

The address given for this hotel cannot be inserted in the satnav so locating it and then accessing it (building works!) was hit and miss. The room was poor: small, no bedside shelves, only two small towels, no foot mat/towel. Breakfast was adequate but no marmalade! The hotel manager was very helpful. Overall, a good location for pre ferry crossing and shopping but not the most comfortable of stays.

This hotel was cheap, but boy could you tell it was cheap. Room had bathroom walls that were falling apart. The window was connected to the room next door, so they could make your room too hot or too cold if they didn't have their part of the window the same as yours. The breakfast was very basic. No hot food at all. Just cereal boxes, fruit and croissants. And bad coffee. I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel. Pay slightly more for the non-budget brand of Ibis.

Requested 2 cots for the 2 children in our party but informed hotel only has one, although we both independently rang to book one each. Rooms were not clean. Hotel overlooks building site and dual carriageway. Party in room below meant we got no sleep, there was no one on reception to complain to during the night and in the morning the staff were not helpful at all.

your revue site has been a source of extreme irritation to me. your hotel was extremely difficult to find from the main road. the key pad entry system did not work. the pull handle on the door seemed to be on the push side and there did not appear to be a pull handle on the pull side
