Old mattresses need changing. The mattress in my room was so old that one side completely collapsed. There was a hard ridge in the middle and then soft slide to the other side. Due to such uneven surface of the mattress, I hurt my back trying to find a comfortable position. I reported this to the hotel in their after-stay survey. Their response did not even acknowledge the horrendous condition of their beds.

We stayed for 4 nights from 24th July to 28th July. We found the hotel to be in a fantastic location; so close to the harbour, restaurants, bars and shops. It was exceptionally good value for money, the rooms are more than adequate - and they were thoroughly cleaned every day (fresh towels every day too). One special mention must go to the wonderful staff at this hotel - they are all so friendly, helpful and professional. I really cannot say enough about how great they were. Also, we had breakfast at the hotel - it was really good, everything you could possibly want at a very good price. We will definitely stay here again.

Positive: just one street off the main food square of Marseille and two block from port. One of the 'to be Michelin' rated restaurants just in front. Stylish, and very romantic, even after 23 years as a couple. Reception is very helpful and welcoming. Could be better: Remember this is a basic budget place but this does not excuse the restaurant toilets to be kept clean. Breakfast is poorly arranged and people wait to be re-supplied the basics...croissants, orange juice, ...coffee machine. Might be quicker to not pay for breakfast and go to a local boulanger (30 feet) and eat fresher croissants and stiff expresso. Would I go back? yes, it was just for an over-night stay so it served its purposes.

Ibis Budget, that's exactly what it is. Perfect for a a budget break in a great location. Hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the marina. We went to Marseille for the Toulon v Toulouse rugby and the Ibis budget was ideal. Good bed, good shower and good staff.

I went there for a business trip as well as summer vacation together with my wife and 3 years old daughter. It has a great location, super near to the old harbor and Lidl! The family room is spacious enough for us. But there was only one super small table in the large room so we had to put some of our stuff on the floor. And maybe the bed sheet was not clean enough.. since we have allergies, we got itchy after sleeping. The bed was comfy though! We could sleep well thanks to the nice air conditioner in the room. The staff were really friendly but unfortunately most of them have limited English. They provided locker room with 2 euros coin at one floor below the reception, which large enough to put our luggage after checking out since we have a night flight back from Marseille. Overall, it was a great budget hotel!

Great location, definitely budget - perfect location, couldn't get much better. Very nice and old looking hotel from the outside, but quite budget inside - not a problem, just something to be aware of!

I stayed only one night during the euro cup - and in that time obviously prices of hotels are quite a bit higher than usual that is the negative aspect, but the breakfast was just like in all the other Ibis Hotels (nothing to add here). The room was small but clean and the bath was great - with special regard to the shower. The room is very silent. The location is great. So all in all who likes Ibis (and I do) has here one more great hotel.

Very clean, it is in great location. Close to the water and plenty of resturaunts. Bathroom needs renovations. Things were broken and falling apart. The vanity cupboard was hanging down off the wall..

Very run down hotel in desperate need of refurbishing (especially the bathrooms) with ill-planned rooms (toilet door couldn't be opened because the toilet was in the way, the window couldn't be opened either cause because of the inner window frame, one had to crawl over the bed to reach the desk as the space between the bed and the wall was < 20 cm a.s.o.) that also were incredibly hot even though it wasn't hot outside (can't even imagine it in summer). Good location though.

Terrible room , no phone , nothing in the room but 4white walls! The bathroom floor was stained but clean ! I did not feel like staying in more then for a shower and sleep. I understand that it's budget but that's too much ! I will not go back !

This is just a very well located hotel. But do not trust the Accor Le Club Loyalty Program. As a member I decided to accept the website`s suggestions and selected several hotels in France just to gather points in the program. At the end of my long trip I asked for the points and was informed the hotels I selected in their own website do not give credits to their loyalty programe.Therefore do not trust them!

I spent 2 nights at Ibis Budget Marseille and it was good for the price payed. Excellent location near the harbour and all tourist attractions. We were also lucky since the room had a good view. We were satisfied altogether also because we liked the town very much.

Fine overnight stay. Centrally located, double windows for noise protection, adequate breakfast, clean surroundings. Walking to everything is the value here. Parking, well good luck - hope you find as did we, a space in front but I doubt that....

The hotel is well located near the most beutiful place of Marseille, ( the Harbour) close to the restaurants, bars, pedestrian areas and just 15 minutes away ( by walk) from the new Museums area ( sea front). The hotel looks simple, with basic, functional and clean rooms, a little bit Anonymous in terms of style. Considering the price I think this is the right choice for those who want a great location with minimum budget

The best price, hotel position and very good condition including a parking lot for a small car. Very recommended to whom is looking for just a place to rest in peace at night after a perfect tour in that great city.

We stayed there 3 nights. I was traveling with my little kid who's 1 year and a half, so we needed a crib for him to sleep. During our "European Tour" we had the same thing with all the hotels we stayed in and none of them ask us for anything (including many hotels where of the Ibis chain) as a deposit for providing the crib. Here it was different, they asked me for an ID and the only thing I have on me at that time was my passport. After my check out they forgot to give the passport back and i forgot to ask for it. Took a train that would take us out of Marseille to Paris to pick a plane out of France and half way during this trip I discovered that I didn't have my passport, so we had to get off the train and get back to Marseille with my family to get my passport back. This problem costed me 380 euros. I know that not asking for my passport was my own fault but the hotels should have given the passport back as soon as I returned the crib. So I urge the hotel to change that policy. If they need a deposit ask for something else other than an ID. For locals and french people might not be that big of a deal to forget an ID but for a foreigner it might be a dissaster. About the hotel per se it was OK, peoples there were very nice. The location is great.

the location is excellent, 50 yards from the Old Port, less than a mile from most of the sights, among them La Cannebiere and the Cathedral, hotel parking is very limited and hardly accesible, but there is a big garage just below the hotel. The rooms are designed as to give you a most comfortable sleep, a clean bathroom and shower without a lot of useless and unnecesary decoration. The breakfast is simple and slightly overprized so if you are not in a hurry you better order a ham and cheese sandwich and cafe creme in one of the nearby bakeries or cafes. Before you leave you may want to have a look at the inner courtyard and the outside of the building from below and you may still recognize in how much history you have slept. This hotel will always be our number one in Marseille because the only thing you would expect from a hotel in this livelely city is a good night's sleep after a long exciting day, - and you'll get it in spite of the noise in the busy streets.

Due to a problem in my credit card my reservation (made and confirmed online 2 months prior to the arrival) was canceled without notice. I only realised this situation when I arrived at the hotel at 10pm. The hotel was full and little effort was made by the staff to solve the situation. Only one of the staff members speaked english (poorly). The manager did not speak at all and was clearly more concerned about going home than to solve the situation. The only solution found was to spend the night at ibis budget in the airport (20 km away from the city center). I realised that when a reservation is made online in the accor website the credit card data is not tested at that moment. Despite this fact accor sends an email confirming the reservation!!!!! In my case the hotel only checked the credit card in the morning of my arrival. As consequence my reservation was canceled immediatly and sold to somebody else.

Very good location, relatively close to the Metro, and the harbour, which is very beautiful. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, quiet, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Also, close to a large square where people can enjoy meals, or a drink, and each others company. Surroundings are colourful and interesting.
