Very welcoming hotel and very helpful staff. A good budget hotel 15 minute walk to center. The hotel also had ample safe free parking, but if you prefer your car to be more secure, they have a coded parking area too. We would use this hotel again.

Stopped one night here and paid extra to put motorbike in the 'secure parking' and left a damp t shirt on the bike to dry..went into the town for a meal and upon returning the t shirt had been stolen...the secure parking is a waste of money as in the morning yhe security gate was wide open..don't waste the extra money.

Good value for no-frills hotel, conveniently located from the train station and the historic downtown. Electronics in the room are a little bummer: TV controller was not functional, and there was only one electronic plug for the entire room.

Two night stay for a rugby weekend. Lack of power points in the room made it difficult to take advantage of free Wi-Fi. One socket that you cant plug adaptor into. The hotel has recently been refurbed which did mean that there was a lingering smell of paint.

If all the rooms were of the same standard as the one we had then this hotel is in a class of it's own, it's a shame it is not the same class as all the other Ibis & Ibis Budget hotels we have stayed in. The shower flooded the toilet pod, the toilet was a one piece unit and had no seat or lid (felt like something from a geriatric ward), and in this day of laptops and other electronic equipment one solitary power outlet is not sufficient and did not cater for UK travellers because it was so close a corner of the wall that a UK plug and adaptor would not fit in. There is no lift and having to cart cases etc up 3 floors was not funny.

Our stay was satisfactory and would use this hotel again. Although further out of La Rochelle than expected, the town centre was within reasonable walking distance. Our only problem was that when several people appeared at breakfast at the same time, there was not enough room to seat everyone insdie, so fortunately the weather was OK to sit outside.

Pleasant stay very close to the city. Can walk into the city very easily from the hotel. Very helpful staff and very friendly. Bathroom very small and not a good shower system, other than that quiet and had a good night's sleep.

poor excuse for a Ibis Budget , in reality a Ex Etap hotel re branded , was more hostel than hotel , room was just about acceptable for one night , back end of a run down industrial area , some distance to centre if walking , pretty expensive and not worth the money , really pleased I was only there one night , as my car has more comfort and facilities than this very disappointing hotel

the hotel is located about 10 min from the station of la rochelle. the hotel surroundings are not very nice, but the structure is in good conditions. the personnel was kind and helpful. the experience was reasonable if compared to the budget

About a 15 minute walk into the centre. The concierge was friendly and the room had recently been renovated. As always with city hotels, the free parking was a bonus. There was a bit of traffic/train noise but not as bad as some hotels I've stayed in.

The clue is in the name. Clean basic rooms. Small but adequate shower room. Easy walk to town centre. Good restaurant 2 minutes away(Les Pieds Sous La Table). Receptionist excellent. Extremely helpful and pleasant .

The room accommodation was very comfortable, although cosy. There is no lift in the building which is a hassle when moving your bags to/from the room especially if you're on the top floor. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a good selection on the menu and the meals were excellent.

A lovely hotel and in easy walking distance of the town centre and sea front although a little noisy due to its proximity to a level crossing! What we were able to see of the own, it's worth a visit but our plans were cut short by pouring rain the following morning, so we headed off to the next destination but with plans to visit again!

This hotel is very close to the centre of La Rochelle. Basic rooms but satisfactory. Good parking and breakfast was well worth the money. Hotel was busy with lots of French people staying. Always a good sign.

Hotel is within 15 to 20 minutes walk of the old harbour very good price for its location. The room was not to small with a shower and toilet cubicle with the sink on the other side of the room. I found the bed very hard however, the room was very clean.

This hotel is in a perfect location for me as it is a short walk to the town and quiet enough to get some sleep. The staff have always been helpful and friendly in the three years we have been holidaying in La Rochelle and it doesn't cost a fortune.

Budget hotel so no frills (soap but no shampoo for example), the rooms were air conditioned and it worked well. Check in and check out smooth and simple. Breakfast was nice (continental but unlimited coffee / orange juice / croissants). It is a basic hotel but worked well for all that. It was not somewhere you could stay to enjoy; no lounge area or bar; you stay to sleep but the bed was comfortable and both rooms clean. Each room slept three, one single bed sideways in the room, above the double. It was fine.

After staying in Ibis Budget Hotel in Anglet / Biarritz we were disappointed to find that this hotel was going back to the Etap Hotel standard. Cramped room - toilet with no seat - tight shower. Stephanie the receptionist was very polite and welcoming, most helpful when we asked for a grounf floor room instead of the second floor room we were originally allocated. So no complaints there... The walk to the 'Port' section of the wonderful city of La Rochelle was a lot longer than the name 'Centre' implies. So if your'e going to the centre on foot - be fit - Don't know the cost of the Ibis Hotel in the centre - but check it out 'cos if it's at all reasonable, you would be better there. I'm sure if Ibis do the place to the standard of Anglet. It would have more return business. You would use this place once - just now, then look for somewhere better.

Receptionist was nice speak ok English. Do not stay in room 207, it is right next to a busy train track!! Bathroom is very plastic and plain. Breakfast is plain but alright. Other wise its clean and ok for the money!
