I was visiting Muenster with my family so we needed two rooms, as we had a small dog, we had to stay on two different floors which was understandable after the receptionist explained the reason. However the rooms were of a poor standard and the stairwell smelled of disinfectant, maybe better than the need for it.
The rooms were extremely basic and much worse than the Ibis Styles which I usually book at considerably lower prices. I found the price of Euro 129, 00 in a city like Muenster to be fairly outrageous but due to the lack of alternatives I suppose Ibis can justify it. The breakfast buffet was very poor so we elected to pass on breakfast and eat elsewhere...good decision. However on the Sunday I needed to get my daughter to an appointment so had to get a coffee to go...as an Gold Card member, I would have expected to be allowed a cup of coffee, I did point out my status but this was of no interest and I paid 5,20 for two coffees, not the world, but the principle stank.
When I had dropped off my daughter, I asked whether I could top up my coffee. I was told that would be a further Euro 2,60 ! Of course, I could have just done it without asking and nobody would have known but still the receptionist wanted to charge me again.
Sorry people but that's rubbish customer service and I shan't be staying in an Ibis anytime soon.
