Hotel was clean and room spacious. However, the lady who checked me in was so rude. She questioned why I had booked such a large room and moaned that I parked in a disabled bay, even though I have a valid disability badge which has my picture on it and was on display. Such a rude woman!
The hotel complex is convenient if one is overnighting for a ferry, but it’s too far out of town for longer stays. The complex is pleasant, and the two hotels are up to the usual high standards of IBIS.
When passing through Cherbourg on our way home, we always try and stay in this hotel. We have only been disappointed twice, on these occasions is was completely booked out. So this statement speak for itself
Very comfortable hotel. When we changed our mind last minute about eating dinner in the restaurant they immediately took it off the bill (we changed our mind about dinner as they only had one kids choice on the set menu). After our return home I realised we had left a bag there. They responded very quickly to my emails and are sending it home for me.
We stop in the Ibis hotel one night before to take the ferry the next day as we did not want to hurry on the road (it is a long drive from Toulouse). It was a great idea and we had a relax evening and a good night sleep. We will definitively do that again...
Easy to find on N13. Excellent disabled parking facilities.Bigger room than last two Ibis hotel stays. Very comfortable and quiet disabled room. Dinner in restaurant was not good, steak burnt and chicken dry and overcooked. Should have gone to MacDonalds next door. It would have been a lot better and a lot cheaper.. Breakfast ok though.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and find it very much to our liking. Good room with very comfy bed, excellent breakfast, an evening meal with good choice and friendly staff. Car parking with lots of room. Will definitely return.
The hotel is well situated on the outskirts of Cherbourg, adjacent to the main roads to the south. The beds are devine after a long journey and the place does most things well. Rooms 305/6 have 5 beds but are on the top floor but there is a lift. Heating in our room refused to work well and we were provided for a most efficient electric radiator immediately when we commented. Restaurant provides tasty food at modest prices for a hotel. Breakfast is extensive and help yourself.
This Ibis is in a great position if you need to catch an early ferry, visit the Cherbourg Peninsula or for a day trip. The rooms are well planned and the beds very comfortable. The restaurant provides a very good breakfast with copious choice. An evening meal is also available with choice and reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.
It was only for 2 1 night stays so chose Styles ove Budget or even F1. Was impressed at reception by the leel of English spoken. Did not need my scrappy French. Room was fine but the air con was very poor. I actually reported it on leaving as not working. When I returned 7 days later there was no change in its level of coolness. Impressed with the overall style of the decor. Impressed by the fact the restaurant actually cooked food. My only othere experience of Ibis food was at Portsmouth and it was terrible. On second visit 7 days later had the same room and complained about the air con again and was moved from 214 to 213 where the air con was only marginally better. There must be some kind of fault with this system, and it was completelhy inadequate. Impressed with the beds and pillows.. I would rate overall 95%, knocking of f 5% for overflowing refuse bins and waste blowing around in the public outside area.
After a nine hour journey we were disappointed to be told that the restaurant was closed when we arrived as they had a large group of cyclists staying. Eventually we spoke to the duty manager who found us a table for two and we were able to eat, without the hassle of getting back in the car again.
Ibis La Glacerie is very handy for us to travel to the surrounding area which we like to visit whilst staying there. We find it a very comfortable hotel either for a few days or just the overnight stay.
Hotel was fine, room was nice and beds very comfortable. Restaurant ok. Hotel marked down overall for the miserable staff who couldn't raise a smile and service pretty slow in the restaurant. We spoke French to the staff and tried to be friendly, but it wasn't reciprocated, particularly the dark haired waitress with the stud in her bottom lip!
We come over with Brittany Ferries and find the Ibis is best place to stay as great value for money, staff are super and the beds are the best! Nothing else to say really except we will return as soon as possible
Only the second Ibis hotel we have stayed in and both times our room has been over the entrance. This has resulted in some late night noise, this year people smoking and talking loudly outside the entrance at midnight. The location is not attractive with a builders merchant and McDonalds opposite and bizarrely Ibis Budget built on the side of our hotel. However the location was easy to find and the car park flood lit at night. Our room was smaller than Ibis Granville, one plastic cup in the bathroom, 2poor quality paper cups for the kettle and disgusting coffee. The bed, as before was large and very comfortable. Overall the hotel, looked rather abandoned but the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
I was pleasantly surprised with this lovely hotel. It looked quite forbidding and industrial from the outside but was quiet, friendly and clean. Bathroom and bedroom facilities were perfect for our family stay. Lots of room for five too. At this price, it's unfaultable!
While we were not in the town, the location was very convenient to get to the town and other places. Staff was welcoming, facilities appropriate. Good value, would return if visiting again. Very nice Vieux Ville and Mt. Roule.
this ibis is now attached the to a ibis style and all the improvements under taken are of the first order representing good value for money............the only criticism would be that after driving several hundred kilometres ,to be told on arrival that they had a party 90 or soand the restaurant was not available that evening
The Ibis hotel is situated next to the main road from the south as it splits to give a way to the centre and also to the car ferries to the east and opposite to the Auchan Commercial Centre with cheap fuel and lots of shops. There is now a Budget adjacent but we went for the Ibis which was a good move. The bedrooms have been refurbished so neat wood pannelled floors but no carpets; the usual bathgroom pod and a good television. As ever everything worked and the staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and were pleasantly surprised that the food was tasty and filling although the penne with mushroon sauce with chicken was exactly the same as I had for dinner in the Ibis in Rotherham a week or two earlier! For the dinner I had the evening specials which was a very pleasent smoked salmon with cucumber relish followed by rump steak, green beans and chips with a shallot sauce which was well cooked and morish. My wife had a duck terrine, like pork pie but with duck and the pasta above. Together with a bottle of good wine and coffee the total came to less than €40 which seemed like a bargin. Recommended wills tay they again.
We left the ferry at Cherbourg and booked in at this hotel for an overnight stop. The weather was very cold so we were glad that there was a restaurant attaches to the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good shower. Reception and bar/ restaurant also very clean and staff very nice. Prices were a little expensive in the restaurant but not too bad. Our dog was made welcome in the hotel and restaurant. Breakfast was good though at 9€50 a head a little on the expensive side.
