The room on the third floor was pretty spacious, despite the low roof. The bathroom was pretty clean and functional. Unfortunately the air conditioning on the third floor was being repaired during our stay, which made the room a little stuffy and uncomfortable. The room was quiet. The breakfast was basic, but everything was to a great standard. The staff were very helpful, and their recommendations on dinner were excellent. The Quai is excellent for dinner, a great spot.
The staff are very friendly and most helpful. The room was a good size. Outdoor garden was nice especially in the evening after a full day amongst the war trails. The hotel is a short walk to the cathedral and information centre. Restaurants are a plenty nearby and the Mercure hotel offers a discount for dining. Not many people speak English in Amiens and north.
The building, service and breakfast was good that is why we stay at the Ibis hotels. The staff were very helpful, however there was no car park and had to park in a public car park approx. 800m away which wasn't a problem as we managed to unload our luggage(in a no parking spot) and it wasn't raining.
My family and I recently spent one night at the Ibis Styles Amiens Cathedrale. The hotel is extremely well situated for easy access to all that Amiens has to offer and was very clean and tidy. Whilst the quality of the breakfast was slightly below that which we experienced in some of the other Ibis hotels, its saving grace was the quality of its staff, particularly those behind the front reception desk. One gentlemen in particular (unfortunately I can't remember his name) went out of his way to make our stay in Amiens a thoroughly memorable occasion. He spent a good 15 minutes helping us get our bearings, and was extremely knowledgeable about Amiens, local events, places to eat, things to see and how best to spend our time etc. He was a fantastic representative of Ibis and advocate of Amiens. On a side note, whilst the hotel does not have its own parking, there is a large underground car park a five minute walk away (7 Euros for 24 hours).
Hotel is OK, though price not worth it. Dropped unlucky as many hotels full, prices consistently high throughout town. A hotel that could have been full of character as in an old building, but seems to have been lost. Was quite a walk from the station, but handy for the town centre.
I have stayed at several Ibis Styles in the past but the breakfast (which is included in the price) at this one was not up to usual standards, with little choice and a disjointed layout to the buffet. The Hotel is very convenient for the city centre, with a convenient public car park close by. It was only on checking the website on my return home that I realised that I should have been offered a discounted rate in this car park. No one mentioned this when I arrived and asked for directions to the car park.
The young Lady on reception was amazing helpful welcoming and friendly. It was not her fault that the heating did not work in our room. Eventurely a convector heater was found to replace our mal-functioning one. It was not the Receptionists fault that she was the only one on duty and we had to wait a long time for our welcoming drink. She was not on duty the following morning when the quality and quantity of the breakfast was seriously lacking. Otherwise we enjoyed our night in Amiens
An abysmal dump, more akin to a student garret than a hotel. The website view showed the hotel looking out over a square, which would make one's arrival and overnight parking a simple matter. Unfortunately, the square was long ago transformed into a huge apartment block. As an Accor Platinum card holder, I complained but got nowhere. Conclusion: Pay the extra and book into the Mercure just up the road.
Good hotel, excellent service& staff, very clean, extra large bed very comfortable, bathroom first class. Close to cathedral & town centre, short walk to find some where to eat .good stop over place , handy for short run to tunnel
My family of four had a room up in the eaves of the hotel. My kids, aged 11 and 15 loved the beamed ceilings and the sheep wallpaper. The single beds were quite narrow and there are only tea and coffee making facilities in the lobby. Breakfast was adequate however the breakfast room was small and often very crowded, one morning they set up extra tables in a meeting room. The hotel was in a good location, close to the cathedral and about 10 minutes walk from the train station.
great location and super breakfast, paid in full on internet, but a discrepancy over checkout, due to hotel rate being higher and not adjusted, sorted in the end, but glad I had paperwork to prove. spoilt an almost perfect stay.
We enjoyed our stay. We had a triple room with ample space. Location good for proximity to main restaurant area of Amiens. Breakfast more than sufficient. Would stay again. Only complaint the lift is very small.
As Australians, we were "en route" travelling between Amsterdam to our home in Finistère/La Bretagne. We were especially drawn to spending one night at the IBIS STYLES AMIENS CATHEDRALE because of it's proximity to the Australian War Cemetery at Villers-Bretoneux. The IBIS STYLES AMIENS CATHEDRALE was a very clean, friendly, English-language Hotel. No complaints what-so-ever! Parking was a bit difficult, but safe once found. Amiens is a youthful University town, with a delightful ambience and historic appeal. Great choice of restaurants nearby. We would stop-over here again whenever travelling the 1100km by road to/from the Netherlands.
The hotel does not look very good from the outside, but once inside, it was comfortable and the breakfasts were plentiful. The situation close to the Cathedral and restaurants was very good. Having a building site outside was not a plus!
This is a former all seasons hotel, which we felt was a fantastic concept. We previously stayed in this type of hotel in Bourges. However, this particular hotel is looking tired, our bedroom was certainly in need of a refurbishment. The staff on the reception could have been more helpful about where to park our car, they were generally efficient and pleasant. Breakfast was up to Accor standards, which is good. The location of the hotel is excellent a easy walk to the cathedral and the main commercial area. I would stay again. It is however not the standard that I have become to in Accor hotels.
Chosen on the net, based on other places we had stayed at a similar price so had a reasonable assumption of what the accommodation would be like. Not a bad location despite all the construction going on around the hotel as it is within an easy walk to the Cathedral. Friendly and helpful check in staff left a good first impression, the cute courtyard left a good second impression . However the room decor and standard was a shock. Not at all worth the price paid. Further disappointment at breakfast where the lone staff member went missing and self serve from the kitchen became necessary. Learnt quickly not to base expectations on price.
I stayed here with my family for ANZAC Day last year and again recently before I embarked on a walk trhough the Somme. This hotel is good value for money, clean, wifi that works well and an excellent breakfast that is available from 6am. Certainly would stay here again.
IBIS Styles Amiens is within a very old building, but that is hard to detect from the inside, unless you use the staircases rather than the lift! Excellent breakfast buffet; Some free tea-making facilities close to the reception desk. Amiens is a lovely city, with large areas of the centre close to the cathedral having survived World War II destruction. Charming canal and riverside houses in Flemish or Flandres style brick. The cathedral is stunning, one of France's largest and tallest.
If just the two of us had stayed in this hotel we would have been satisfied. The room is nice, good bed, location great, staff is very friendly and helpfull. When we made the reservation, we asked for a room for 3 adults. There was 1 room with a very good extra bed for the third person. As we arrived we found out that in this room the toilet could not flush. Why did we have to find out? Why did not notice the cleaning lady this failure? The staff was very helpfull and we got another room. In this room the extra bed was a foldable. This might be good for a child but not for an adult, or a grown-up. We accepted the room and complainted the next morning. Maybe that was too late. If we had complaint right away they might have given us a second room. And, we would have rated this hotel higher.
