We had a wonderful stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and the best is the location....right next to a shopping Mall and Malioboro street where all the night action is. The bechas and teksis knows the location well, right in the centre of town
Overall location for the hotel was great - it was right smack in the middle of Jalan Malioboro -sorta like the main city of Yogyakarta. Getting an airport taxi (with a coupon) to the Ibis Malioboro was IDR80,000. Ubering would have cost me only IDR25,000 maximum. Uber is the way to go around Yogyakarta. Check-in was smooth and great. The hotel bed was comfortable. Toilet was a little tight. Weird design: the glass door to the shower was scraping the sprout of the rainforest shower - someone didnt get the measurements aligned. The rooms had two big feature artworks of yarns / wool which I really don't get (because the weather is warm!) and it really is a missed opportunity to not feature the thriving artworks of the Yogyakarta artists' base. Housekeeping's attention to details can be improved - the die-cut plastic feature hanging lamp is nice but was full of dust. Hand towels had weird brown stains on the inside of the towels - obviously i couldn't use them. The Hotel was linked to the Mal Malioboro - convenient to get access to supermarket, Macdonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC (Mal Malioboro's food court has a KFC counter). Local street foot can be found along the streets of Malioboro - if the surroundings don't deter you. I have tried a few of the stores (fried spring rolls (lumpiahs) and sate were really good). Moneychanging: The hotel doesnt provide moneychanging services. In fact, most of the hotels on the stretch of Malioboro dont provide moneychanging. The airport moneychanging counters close around 5ish - so be sure to have your foreign currency ready when you arrive at the airport. The main moneychanging office was at Inna Garuda hotel - it is a less than 10 mins walk from the IBIS Malioboro. It is a safe and credible office where you will fill up a little white form at the counter and provide your personal details and the currency to be exchanged. You will be issued with a receipt. The IBIS malioboro concierge and front-of-house were great. They speak fluent English and were attentive. I realise that the indonesians hotel staff are a little shy by nature and may not seem approachable but trust me, they were so helpful and giving. I would still come back to the Ibis Malioboro when I next visit.
Good services from the day I checked in until the day I checked out. nice and helpful staffs. located in good area with easy access to Malioboro. Many shops and places to eat nearby, you can walk to reach those places.
The hotel on the malioboro street, is a tourist destination in the Yogyakarta city. Direct access to the malioboro mall, a fairly large mall with famous shops and restaurants. Rooms and bathrooms clean, neatly arranged. The beds are nice and there is pillow bolsters, making the bed comfortable. Good breakfast. Good service
Only few steps from the famous Malioboro street. Room and bathroom are clean, seem that had been renovated. Staffs are very friendly. There is still a construction work on new building just besides this hotel, so be suggested to request the room not near the work.
It was a pleasant 4 nights stayed with Ibis Malioboro. Walking distance to almost tourist attractions places, mall, foods, local markets and lots more. Upgraded to Superior Rooms and a surprise birthday cake, was beyond my expectations. Keep it up Ibis Malioboro! Will come back to you someday
This is a small, quiet, incredibly friendly hotel with efficient rooms and adequate facilities. There is a nice pool to cool off in, but it can get quite hot around the pool due to the lack of shade. Breakfast is tasty with a mix of Javanese and Western foods, the bar is cozy and the beers cold. It is located along side a nice department store with restaurants, shops and a kids zone with video games. The hotel is quite central and jumping into a taxi or becak is easy, or just walking the streets to sample the many gastronomical treats along JL Malioboro. Ibis just seems to work in what ever country I visit. Nothing fancy, but still a pleasant stay.
I was happy for stay at hotel ibis malioboro. anywhere, easy.., near from supermarket, shopping for batik. its means location is good. hotel is clean. Process check in / check out --> quickly. benefits, check out late.
Returning to hotel for the sixth time I found the staff as friendly and helpful as usual.I had a superior room facing the street with distant views over the roof tops.....very little noise. The hotel is being upgraded and its central position will guarantee my return again and again. As well as an excellent breakfast I had several other meals there and was pleased with the value and quality.Thankyou for making my stay a pleasant one.
good location , low price , smart staff, clean room , near malioboro the center of yogyakarta. good taste of breakfast. Hotel beside of malioboro mall. Many variant breakfast. smart receptionist and helpfull.
This was not my first stay at Ibis Malioboro. Always been my first choice if i have a trip to Yogyakarta. This time i went with my family. The location is perfect as it is located at the 'heart' of the city. Convenient for walkable distance to souvenir shops, street foods, city town square. Busy streets until midnight for people with hobbies for night strolling. It is quite a old hotel but well maintained and had renovations in the room.
We love our stay at this hotel, got a warm welcome greeting plus chocolate and got upgrade to suite :)) which is awesome with separate living room, very handy for my two young boys. Definitely will stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Yogyakarta.
The Hotel is strategically located at the Malioboro street, center of live in Yogyakarta, with direct access to the Malioboro Mall. The room check in and out processes were quite efficient, and the hotel staffs are all friendly and helpful. The bed and bath rooms are quite clean. the breakfast buffet was quite nice, with wide range of varieties for this sort of Hotel.
It's located in central of Malioboro area and connected to the mall, really convenient to get my daily needs, eat and shop (there is construction site behind the hotel, beware if you sensitive to any noise). Staffs especially the receptionist, Ms Ariska is very friendly and helpful. Note on room service: We tried to call for several times at around 5:00AM but nobody pick up
We have been staying in a number of hotels in Indonesia and the Ibis Malioboro was one of them. I guess this hotel gets its high score because of the location, it's connected to the mall that ajoins it, smack on Jalan Malioboro. The staff is friendly and the service is up to scratch but the rooms we had were in dire need of restauration and the cleaning is minimal. The shower units on both occasions had red mold, leaking doors and were riddled with calcium traces. The beds though are comfortable and the AC is competent. The breakfast is geared towards Indonesians, don't expect much from the minimal bread counter. But I'm used to eating nasi goreng with breaded, fried fish in the early morning and I liked it. We paid approx. US$ 49 per night through a booking site and that is perhaps the reason for the type of room we got. Because the rooms on both occasions were in the same state, we didn't file a complaint as I suspect this would not have elevated the situation. The hallways are also somewhat tattered, with two layers of carpet.
The hotel location is so strategic, just in the midle of busy tourism Malioboro area, that we can enjoy and explore the area easily by foot. The hotel is very good, the food selections for breakfast are many.
Room very spacious, comfy bed. Value for money. Only wifi connectivity is worst. Unable to connect to devices. I think all ibis hotel in Asia have a same problem. Wifi connection very weak! We don't try food from hotel because hotel itself attached with the mall and they offer variety of local food. Check out level 5 food court
It's been wonderful. I left my wife for duty in purwokerto and they give a wonderful service. no need to move to another room even they told must to. Breakfast is ok, my wife love bubur sumsum very much. Even no beautiful view from room window but it's ok
Ibis Malioboro is a nice hotel with excellent location. It is located right in the centre of Malioboro street which is the main street in Yogyakarta and connected to Malioboro shopping mall. People said that you can not claim that you have been in Yogyakarta if you have not been in Malioboro street. Staff are very nice and helpful, room is surprisingly big for Ibis standard. As Platinum member of Accor, my room was upgraded from Standard to Superior and I am surprised with the size of the room which is very big for Ibis standard. Recommended for traveller who like to stay in the crowd area
Building was old. Room 236 floor was old. Air conditioning not well. Quite hot when sleep. Toilet should renovate. Quite dark the room. Should renovate. Staff was friendly. Breakfast should have more variety
