So you're a foot passenger on the Brittany Ferries Portsmouth run to Ouistreham. There's no onward public transport in the evening after the ferry docks. What do you do? One option is to enjoy settling into your Ibis room 20 minutes after docking (20 mins being the latest record). That's walking by the way. Well, walking quite quickly. Being a Brit, I have the means to make a cup of tea on me at all times. But Ibis won't deny you. There's free tea, herbal teas, coffee and hot chocolate downstairs and no disapproving glances if you disappear in the direction of the lifts clutching a cup of something. It's all fine. Ibis aims to please, and please they do. The free breks in the morning is welcome - not my usual fare but sustaining nonetheless, and better than anything you'd pay 8+ euros for in a cafe, particularly since you can eat as much (or as little) as you like. So I love Ibis Styles. And I use it for the morning run into Portsmouth too. Up and out, zip across the road and onto the ferry. Ibis also works if you fancy a break at Ouistreham. It really is just round the corner from the beach. Lots of history: Ouistreham beach was Sword Beach on D-Day and it doesn't have the same tragic poignancy as Omaha Beach so it's easier to have a general day out there. Ibis isn't a boutique hotel, but you get a standard of service that is pretty close and their spoken English is fine too. Reassuring.

Nice hotel. The rooms are small but the beds are great. Noisy neighbours but not the hotels fault. Very poor shower, bit of a shame as the rest was good. Easy check in and secure parking available at an extra cost. With the pet cost extra it all starts to add up.

Warm welcome and addressed by my name on arrival which made one feel welcome. There was a problem with the heating in my room which was very quickly and efficiently sorted. Full marks to teh hotel staff

Stayed here again on the way home as our ferry got in at 21.30. The location is excellent as it's within about 50Mtrs of the port and parking is available either in front and to the side of the hotel or if that's full the hotel has secured parking which you pay a mere €5 per night for. The rooms are large enough, the bed is really large and the bathroom is big enough. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and that makes a difference here. The buffet breakfast has a good variety of things to eat and the coffee, made in a machine is freshly made from beans. All in all a great place to stay if you're taking or coming from a ferry.

I had to think outside the box when I realised I would not be able to book a ticket on an earlier Eurostar train to Paris. Time was not an issue so I decided to take the ferry from Portsmouth to Ouisterham a day earlier and spend the night at the Ibis hotel right next to the ferry terminal and I am so glad I did. As with all Ibis hotels the hotel was clean, comfortable, warm and friendly. I took the bus to Caen and train to Paris and TGV from Paris to Bordeaux....... I arrived totally un-stressed. Would I recommend Ibis Ouisterham - YES. and would I use the hotel again - YES, I am planning a long weekend stay for the spring 2018

On arrival was informed that restaurant was not open that night which was disappointing as we had chosen this hotel for its dining facilities! Never stayed in such a small room either. Excellent location for the ferry.

W e always book into this Hotel as it is walking distance from the Port .I have gone as a foot passenger last week and will be traveling back to the Uk by car next week .they serve a great fish and chips at the port .and then walk a few yards back to the Hotel .my only complaint is when you book on the net I always have problems booking a room for2 people as it seems to come up as Iperson so have to pay the difference on arrival. it could be me as I am not great on the internet.

We have been staying at this hotel for several years when using the ferry to Portsmouth. It is convenient to the port and has the added benefit of secure car parking. The staff are always welcoming and the facilities adequate to our needs

4

Very handy fit ferry crossing, you can just about see the ferry when it arrives, we use this hotel on a regular basis. Unfortunately this time our ferry was cancelled after the hotel booking had been made. Fortunately they were able to change our booking to the Monday night, so after a very rushed trip through France we arrived and after a nights sleep we were on our way home.

Very good for an early ferry as it is just a couple of minutes drive. Staff are charming, but rooms need a make over also rather small and cramped but fine for one night stay. Plenty of nice places to eat locally

Room small but comfortable and quiet for a good night's sleep. Very convenient for early ferry allowing breakfast before checking in. Parking outside very useful although secure parking is also available. Several restaurants nearby if hotel food is not to ones taste

As with so many previous occasions, a very pleasant stay with an excellent evening meal with superb service. Our only criticism is that the cornflakes available at breakfast are too sugary. So we do without.

We were catching a ferry at 8.30 and the Ibis Styles is about 3 minutes from the terminal. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good however the restaurant is not open at the weekend but there are many places to eat nearby

3

Lovely hotel, great room, great bed, great staff, but right opposite the ferry port. As a consequent it was very noisy until the early hours of the morning. In winter that would not have been a problem but because it was hot we needed to open the window to cool the room as there is no air conditioning. Open window = noisy room. Closed window = very hot room. Consequently, badly disturbed sleep.

Great warm welcome late in the evening on arrival. Clean room and very comfortable bed. Good breakfast in the morning before setting off again. Have stayed here many times and the service has always been first rate

4

Pleasant hotel. Rooms and bathrooms recently upgraded. Disappointing that the resaurant doesn't open at weekends except for breakfast and annoying that the switch from Mercure status to Ibis Styles means they 'include' breakfast in the charge for rooms. I guess many guests are there to catch the 8.30 ferry and enjoy breakfast on board.

Free Parking FULL - we had to pay - Room really tight and could hardly move around - Breakfast expensive - we are a member and got the discount - but the price on Trip advisor was the same - what's the point in being a member?

Pre booked in April and check in was so easy which was made better by the pleasant attitude and manner of the receptionist, the friendliest welcome we have ever had in France. Room was fine and breakfast was fresh with a good selection. No doubt will be staying there again next year.

Aquarium, seabed, lazing about the beach...port and starboard, the works of Gilgogué on the horizon. Don't hesitate, jump in! And we scour the ship's passageways: lighting effects, vivid colours...calm seas ahead! At the restaurant, the seafood takes centre stage. Then, head for port. A bridge, a gangway, a footbridge...you arrive at your cabin Seashell footstools, teardrop wall sconces and first class bunks-it's all there! You glance through the porthole, and you see sea life thanks to the watercolours of Alexandra Palavasson... Like a fish takes to water, you snuggle up in bed and let the waves rock you to sleep!

Ship ahoy! Facing the ferry terminal where boats set sail for England, and just 500 metres from sandy beaches, the port and the outdoor market...Welcome to Ibis Styles Ouistreham! On board his ship, the "commander" and his team invite you to take a cruise to rest and relaxation...toooooot, tooooooot! Hoist anchor!

All aboard! Thanks to the captain and his crew, you'll have a great time on this journey. A warm welcome, comfort, cosiness...goodbye to everyday uproar, here it's smooth sailing from start to finish!
