We stayed here just one night in Paris because it was close to Gare de Lyon and we had an early train from there in the morning. The hotel is nice, well kept, clean, and has a friendly and helpful staff. Our room was just what we needed - not large, but just enough space for 2 people to sleep and get clean. We had the breakfast and I recommend it. Would stay here again!
The hotel is modern and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I liked the quiet garden area in back for eating a picnic meal. The 12th ar. is a little out of the way for normal touring but perfect for catching a morning train from Gare de Lyon.
Very good location. Quite and yet central. Clean and friendly. Good selection of restaurants in walking distance. Bus stop and metro all very close. Good sized bathroom and good sized bedroom for Paris standards
Very well situated + only 20/25 minutes from Gare du Nord by tube .very easy access to the rive Gauche by bus or ChampsÉlysée by tube from Bastille .nice walk towards the place des Vosges & Le Marais. lots of nice place to eat such as L Européenne opposite la Gare de Lyon ,Bofinger place de la Bastille.Attractive market on a Sunday morning near by. Room clean & good air conditioning bathroom always & the Opera Bastille 5 minutes from the hotel.Been back to the same hotel for years now. Staff very pleasant & helpful.breakfast very good and appreciate the facility of a quick one if you are in a hurry. Staff there extremely Nice area to sit outside to relax or have a drink. Always mention it to my friends in uk .
Hotel is within a few blocks of Gare de Lyon and the Bastille. Rooms are comfortable and quiet, breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Service was kind and professional. I would gladly stay here again on a trip to Paris!
Walking distance from Gare the Lyon, this simple, clean and modern hotel is a great place for Paris. Employees were very friendly and helpful. The room is small but clean and comfortable. The location is also convenient for its proximity to a variety of restaurants and Bastille area.
2 critical issues during my stay that are so fundamental to running a hotel that no hotel should get them wrong: 1) DO NOT DISTURB: I placed the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the outside door handle before I left in the morning because I didn't need any housekeeping and I didn't want anyone going into the room. However when I came back in the evening my room was cleaned and the DO NOT DISTURB sign placed back behind the door. How can hotel staff ignore the DO NOT DISTURB sign?! Every other hotel I've ever stayed at treats the DO NOT DISTURB sign as iron-clad and almost sacred but apparently not this hotel. 2) Wake-up call: Before going to bed I called the front desk and requested a wake-up call at 7am the next morning. I naturally woke up around 6:30am so didn't need it but I still expected the phone to ring at 7am. NO call came at 7am. I waited another 10 minutes but still NO call came by 7:10am. Finally around 9:15am when I was getting ready to check out the phone rings and it was the wake-up call, more than 2 hours late! This is ridiculous. I could've been in serious trouble if I didn't already wake up on my own!
Very welcoming on arrival, with comfortable well appointed clean rooms. Good reasonably priced breakfast and excellent wifi connection. Would highly recommend a stay if you are in the area and want good value for your Euro.
Room was nice, not small, comfortable, bathroom also big and nice. Location of hotel is great, near river, and between 2 metro stations - Bastille and Gare d Lion. Many places nearby to eat. I only didn't like the bed, it was to soft for me. Would come again.
We've stayed at Ibis Ledru-Rollin several times and find it excellent value. This particular trip things had changed a bit in that you now have to have breakfast vouchers. (Strongly suspect people not staying at the hotel might have availed themselves of the excellent spread!). Also, we came late to breakfast one morning (10 mins before closing) to find there was not a lot left. Apart from that, I'd still recommend the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the room was quiet and spotlessly clean. There are still people sleeping on the sidewalk outside the advice centre a few doors away, but the hotel can do nothing about this - it seems to be happening all over Paris. I'm surprised the authorities don't tackle the problem properly.
Ibis Gare de Lyon, Ledru Rollin, is well situated near to the Gare de Lyon but also in close proximity to the attractive "Couloir Vert",, planted as a walking route with trees, flowers and water features..It is also a ten minute walk to the Seine and close to the Port de Plaisance near the Bastille.Unfortunately, service is somewhat impersonal and lacks the warmth of other Ibis.
Nice hotel near Gare de Lyon and Bastille. The location is ideal for a short stay in Paris. Our room was small but we didn't spend much time in it. We complained 2 days in a row about the air conditionning in our first room to the staff at the reception but were only offered a new room when the manager was there and heard us. If not for this, everything would have been perfect. Breakfast is very good (try the madeleines). Would definitly book there again .
We've stayed at this particular Ibis hotel often. It's great value for money, spotlessly clean, has friendly and helpful English-speaking staff, and the 'eat all you like' breakfast is of very high quality. It is also very convenient for transport. As you gather, we LIKE the Ibis Ledru-Rollin! The only problem is the increasing amount of homeless people sleeping on mattresses a few doors away, outside an advice centre for the homeless. This was my second stay in a month, and the numbers sleeping rough had increased within two weeks. I feel desparately sorry for these people, but walking past their (undoubtedly not the most hygienic) community on the way back from the metro at night was uncomfortable. I was upset to see there was a child among their number. I know the hotel can in no way do anything about this problem (surely it's the job of the police?), but it does detract from the ambience of the hotel itself. If you're thick-skinned, fine. If not, be warned.
The front desk was good enough to allot a room prior to check in, and was very helpful in guiding us for moving around in paris. We were able to converse very comfortably in English as our knowledge level of french was very poor.
Frustrating. Disrespectful. The mattress of the room 108 completely misaligned. The two nights we could not sleep properly. I'm the club member and have stayed in other hotels in the network. Surely, the quality has never been so poor. Absurd.
Went on our Babymoon and chose an Ibis as we have stayed in them previously. Stayed in room 114 and walked in to a fresh paint smell but only on the first night. Window opened fully but wasn't really needed as it was below freezing anyway. However underneath the window there was a small draft coming in which kept the room chilled but the heating worked and you can turn it up to 30 degrees. Bed was comfortable and overall room furniture was very standard. Not that it bothered us but if you are looking for English channels on TV they only have BBC World News. Free WIFI is available throughout the hotel and you only need to register every 24 hours. Breakfast is amazing - Yoghurts, cheeses, ham, fresh croissant and Pain Au Chocolat. Pancakes and Tortillas - great way to start your day. Hotel is situated within 2 mins walk to Gare De Lyon and you can access Line 1 on the Paris Metro. Line 1 is the stops for Musee De Louvre, Champs Elysee and Charles De Gaulle Etoile (Arc De Triomphe). Or you can walk to Bastille stop which is no more than 5 mins walk.
My train was scheduled to arrive at Gare de Lyon at 2130, so I wanted a reliable hotel close to the station. I'd stayed at an Ibis property in Lisboa was impressed, so when I saw this show up on the map, I booked the room. All went well from smooth check-in to very clean modern room and bathroom with plenty of space, and a first-rate breakfast featuring a type of potato torte, mini-crepes, cheese, ham, choices of breads and croissants, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, milk, and other items. The wireless internet was plenty fast up in the room, too. I will continue looking for this chain in the future. There is a very nice pâtisserie one short block away on the way to Gare de Lyon that features macarons and other treats. Gare de Lyon RER and Metro is a short five-minute walk from the hotel.
All was fine. Good staff, excellent location, near three metro stations. All was fine. Good staff, excellent location, near three metro stations. All was fine. Good staff, excellent location, near three metro stations.
We have stayed at this hotel many times and on each occaision been given a lovely room looking over the street. This time with 4 nights stay we were given a very small room overlooking the garden. Very cosy with 2 large bags and cabin bags to fit in. The staff were very helpful and pleasant going the extra mile to dowload election papers for 4 people on the only day we could vote! We will continue to stay here when time allows.
This hotel is an oasis of calm and peace, 10 minutes walk from the Seine and close to the Bastille. Garden Rooms are particularly spacious and pleasant. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful.
