The room was the smallest ever we have visited in the Ibis group. We had 2 single beds, the space between beds & from the bottom of the beds to the wall was extremely tight. I found the room claustrophobic.
Another fab night at this hotel, the staff are so helpful and nothing is to much trouble. Rooms top class for cleanliness and the dog was just as important as us he loved it, breakfast delicious and plenty of choice. Will staying there again next year.
After staying in two other Ibis hotels earlier in the month this was not up to previous standards. There were two reasons for this. Firstly the bathroom was so small it was difficult to be able to use any of the facilities with comfort. Secondly, the restaurant was lacking in décor and ambience, with uncomfortable cheap plastic chairs. However, on the upside the food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Clermont Ferrand Hotel was easy to find and we received a positive welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. The room was very clean and comfortable and the only downside was the "pod" bathroom, they encourage you to think about going on a diet. The weather was a bit grim outside so we decided to use the restaurant, it provided a welcome meal and was a very good price, sometimes I get it right. I enjoy this route when I'm either visiting Provence or Toulouse so i guess I will be back again
This hotel is very comfortable and clean. The location is a bit isolated as it is on a major road junction. However there was no noise in the room. The restaurant in the hotel is very good, and relatively cheap for France. The staff were also very helpful. The only negative is that the hotel is old and is in need of modernization.
This is a typical boring ibis in an industrial zone.Difficult to find. The parking in front of the hotel was good though. I can't imagine why one should choose this hotel other than an overnight stay on the way somewhere else.
a nice welcome when we arrived. The hotel was fine but slightly small room. It was by far situated in a noisy place; at the junction of two main roads. slightly tricky to find as well, despite satnav. it had sufficient and safe grounds for us to run the dog which was very helpful. a good stop over for us but not any longer. The weather stopped us from climbing the Puy de Dome but we will try and go back. but probably not at this Ibis hotel; purely due to the noise, not the staff or the comfort.
Outward journey. Booking in with a lovely lady receptionist (didn't get her name). We eat in the restaurant, the meal was ok fortunately breakfast was better. Coffee to go brilliant. Return journey. Booking in with the same lady. This time we did not eat in the restaurant but went to the local Buffalo Grill, cheaper and more variety.
We stayed overnight for the second time on our trip down to the south of France. As well as last year, we confirm it as a clean hotel, VERY friendly receptionists, well located, large parking. Good value for money.
Good stay very helpful staff. Close to shops and restaurants. Excellent area to explore in the future. Will be returning and probably using this Hotel again due to its convenient location, near to the Auvergne volcanic area.
the hotel is located in the suburbs of clermont ferrand. you are not at walking distance from the town centre but you are close to a main boulevard. the structure is very recent, very well maintained and clean. unfortunately there is no possibility unless with a car to find a restaurant in the surroundings. the hotel has a restaurant inhouse. the personnel is very kind and helpful.
I have stayed at many Ibis hotes over the last 20 years and would rate this hotel as the worst. A meal ordered in the restaurant by myself and 3 members of my family was poorly presented and virtually inedible. The bathroom was so small we had to open the door to enable to dry youself!
A very comfortable hotel. travelled by rail to Clermont and did not have the use of a car so there was a long walk into the city itself. As part of a group of travellers this did not present a problem. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful ,breakfast buffet was very good, rooms clean and tidy, bathroom was bijou but was functional.
We arrived on a rainy night having had great difficulty finding the hotel. The instructions on the web-site do not give the vital directions for the last 200m. You can see the hotel easily, but not how to reach it! Check-in was easy, room was small but fine for an overnight. The window had been kept shut so the room was very warm. The duvet was a thick one, so we were rather warm overnight for comfortable sleeping. Breakfast room was bright and cheerful, with good choice of food.
Stayed one night. Bed extremely comfortable and spacious, but somewhat too large for the room - only 20 cm of space on one side of it. Quality of linen, cleanliness & service impeccable throughout. Bathroom has modern 'pudding basin'-style handbasin, with central pull-up plug leaving no room in the basin: hopelessly impractical in use! Squeeze-type liquid soap dispenser also inconvenient. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated. Entrance to the hotel parking area from the main road is somewhat awkward to get right first time.
Nice hotel.Good parking. Can be difficult get to dependant on your approach.Nice evening meal. Rooms fairly small even for an Ibis.Handy if you are travelling north or south on the A75. Town centre some distance away.
Ibis hotels are by no means a luxury brand, but as a last minute stay it certainly fulfilled our urgent needs at the time. A (comparatively) large bed, a small bathroom, limited menu in the restaurant, small number of staff etc reflect it's more utility role, yet all entirely acceptable for what we expected and what we paid for. The location is some way from other services such as other restaurants, entertainment, centre of town etc.
We had traveled far and were really ready for our evening meal ~ it was horrid.. How anyone can cook prawns 'till they could be used as concrete bullets is, quite frankly, beyond me. If an hotel offers restaurant facilities then, engage someone who can at least cook..
