Although I prepaid for hotel at advance rate, which Ibis confirmed, either Ibis didn't take the advance payment or didn't advise the hotel. So I was surprised to be charged 'again' at current rate at check-out. Hotel staff was not very helpful in resolving, so this issue is still outstanding. Overall, service was good and bad. Location is OK, and city centre can be accessed on foot. Plenty of parking at the hotel or on the street. Rooms are good.
Hotel easy to find and with a good secure car park ideal for a stopover between northern France and the Algarve. Hotel overlooks the river with good views. Staff speak good English and were very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.
Ideally situated close to the motorway travelling between Bordeaux and Spain. Secure parking and on entry a modern open reception, bar and restaurant. The rooms have been up dated to the now recognised Ibis standard. Reception friendly although no express check out. A good French menu in the restaurant and the usual comprehensive French breakfast menu.
Well placed to explore the city and easy access to the motorway. Well worth spending a few hours exploring the lanes and shops in the city centre. The pizza place opposite the hotel does great pizzas if you don't fancy eating in the hotel. The parking (at extra cost) is worth using as there's nothing much close by.
as implied by the title, I was last here around 4.5/5 years back; seems nothing has changed and in this instance that is a +ve; Marie Charlie still runs the place in a perfect manner, can even remember guests from so long back and her team are typically friendly and hospitable to all; Everything was good, most especially the great view on the river; Everything else meets, or exceeds IBIS branding standards;
Good service at reception, useful to have secure parking (additional 9Euros) the room was spacious, modern and the bed very comfy. The breakfast was also very good with a good selection of sweet and savoury options.
The room was small and tight but the price was affordable. We had to pay to park in their lot. Friendly and helpful staff and they gave us time for helping. We could walk all over the center of Bayonne from the hotel.
Good location, just a short walk to town, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are rather small, quite basic and a little bit tired but clean and very good value for money. Doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. If you want little more than a clean, reasonably comfortable room, the IBIS fits the bill.
We stayed one night in this Hotel. Couldn't fault the standard of the rooms. It was clean, quiet and the staff were very helpful. Only negative would be to say that the name of the Hotel is misleading, they may say it is the Centre Hotel but you are someway from the centre, 10-12 minute walk. Whilst not particularly far we were unfortunate to be there when it was raining! There is secure parking at the Hotel, which is very helpful given the lack of street parking.
We are impressed with this hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. We have stayed here before and find it convenient as we travel between Spain and France. It is near the river, which is picturesque.
We stayed here in preference to the Novotel at Anglet where we normally take a night halt. The Ibis at Bayonne has the added advantage of being central and plenty of nice restaurants locally. The accommodation is good, we liked the new bedding and towels. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a good choice for most people.
The Ibis Bayonne Centre hotel gave us one of my most enjoyable stopovers, travelling between Spain and the U.K. Everything about the hotel was ideal for two of us travelling on a budget but wanting to sample the Atlantic coast in southern France. We slept very well, walked and drive all around the area including the unique centre of Bayonne, Bordeaux and the coastal beaches as well as idling away our time just walking by the river behind the hotel. To top it all, the staff were exceptionally welcoming.
Small but very clean clean room with good river view and short walk into the vibrant city of Bayonne, with many places to eat even on a Sunday evening. Parking (payable) at the hotel was a bonus, when all on-street spaces are full.
hotel was easy to find with ample parking round the back. The rooms are typical Ibis and great value for money. We did not use the bar or restaurant so no comments on these. Ibis have some of the most comfortable beds you can find.
The staff at the Ibis Bayonne was really exceptional, everyone was very professional and friendly, and I was so impressed! The hotel itself is very pleasant, clean, and quiet and I had a nice view of the river. I love the town, I will happily return one day. Overall, the Ibis chain is winning me over.
Comfortable hotel in good location, 10 min walking to historic centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good selection and good quality of food at breakfast buffet. Private parking. Can be highly recommended.
The Hotel was up to the usual high standard. The one thing in my experience that lets Ibis down is the restaurants. Dinner is generally very expensive for the quantity and quality. Breakfast is very expensive with little choice of poor fair.
We stayed here for 1 night on our trip back from Spain. When checking in we asked reception if we needed to book a table in the restaurant and was advised we didn't. After our long trip we didn't feel like venturing into the centre. We went down for dinner at about 8pm and a different member of staff informed us and other clients waiting that the restaurant was closed! We were quite disappointed as we then had to walk into Bayonne centre (approx 15 mins), however we found a lovely restaurant and had a wonderful meal. Prior to our arrival I emailed to request a room on an upper floor, overlooking the river and our request was granted. However, the room appeared tired and was quite small. The toilet seat was loose and chipped and the lid was chipped all the way around the edge. On the positive side the room was clean and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was also good. On our final bill we were charged a supplement of 8 euros for our dog but have always paid a 5 euro supplement in Ibis hotels in France as we did two weeks before in Bordeaux. Not sure why there is a difference, although in Spain the charge is 7 euros.
good location, quiet, comfortable bed and clean room, everything worked!! The hotel had a private parking which was a plus for a hotel in the town. Sraff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was good and not too expensive but nowhere near as good as ibis Bilbao which was also less expensive.
Stayed there mid September . Very well located: very quiet and nice to walk by the river in the evening. Ask for a room overlooking the river if you can. 10 min. from town centre and not far from the station if you need it. Very frIendly staff, extremely helpful and good atmosphere. Recommend stay. Parking 9 euros per day but worth it as very secure.
