We arrived after mid-night, the check-in took ~ 30 seconds. Everything was ready. Staff was OK. However the room is super small, and clearly needs renovation. The TV was modern, but everything else looked old. It doesn't smell or anything, but I felt it's more an Ibis budget hotel than an Ibis one.
Despite the indication that there is garage parking, there is no garage parking. Our room was in a poor state with a broken shelf and some other minor things. It would be easy to fix but it seems the management are not looking at maintaining a good standard. We had dinner in the restaurant which was quite good and a reasonable price. At 4.0am we were woken by a lot of shouting and bottles being clinked in the car park area. People were walking in and out of the hotel, presumably to smoke outside, making a lot of noise. Eventually after 30 minutes they got into a car and went away.. The receptionist must have been aware as people walked to and from the hotel entrance, but obviously did nothing to stop the shouting and noise. Our next stop was IBIS in Zurich which was outstanding compared to this IBIS in Strasbourg.
The friendly, helpful staff at Ibis Strasbourg Airport, especially Julia who always checked we had everything we needed, made this a very pleasant place to stay. Public transport connections into the city were excellent and free car parking meant we could avoid stressful, inner city driving. The restaurant was basic, but reliable and with good service.
The breakfast buffet is good except that this year the supply of cornflakes, a standard breakfast dish, has been replaced by some sort of wheatflakes which are tasteless and unpleasant in consistancy.. Otherwise the stay as up to Ibis standards.
A little bit away from the city centre but within easy reach by Tram B(day ticket € 4,30. Parking for free, very good value for breakfast @ €9,90. Opposite the road a lovely reastaurant called 'Diligence' and a Lidl behind the parking. Very friendly staff!!
The hotel is what you can expect from the group. No problems here. The manager however was not customer-focused at all. I had a problem with the booking and in stead of trying to listen, to understand my problem, finding a solution, ... the only thing he did was trying to prove that I was wrong. Very sad!
we spent one night at this ibis stop, where we had not problems either in check.-in or -out. comfortable ibis standards, which we are used to..a little far from city center which is not a problem for a city small like strasbourg..to be recommended anyway
