Had to check in at the Ibis Bastei as no reception available. The reception staff there were not particularly helpful in general and were quite standoffish. Have stayed here before and it seems that standards have fallen. The only plus is that it is near the central station.
When arriving at the hotel you try to get in to the reception but have no card and you have then to walk back to the Bastei hotel which you have walked past to get your room key. There is nothing to warn you about it until you reach the hotel. Also there is no reception and if you have a problem you will have to walk back to the Bastei. Also the staff both male were very unhelpful on the night shift to me when I said please can you help me with the computer in the hotel foyer as I needed to find out details of my flight home. They were I seemed to think very rude and not interested at all to help me although they had no customers at the desk and it involved only a short walk to the computer. I have stayed at a lot of Ibis hotels in the past and stayed at Frankfurt Centre a day afterwards and they were so kind and helpful on the computer as I am 65 years of age.
Hotel at New building and at an excellent localization, close to main interest city point and shop areas, great localization and safe. Very close to the Dresden train station and at public transportation. Free WiFi and Internet access.
Room 930 was too warm despite turning A/C as cool as it would go and later opening the window. Mattress was uncomfortable-firm but seemed to be lower quality. Otherwise room was nice. Breakfast was very good.
standard ibis hotel it does the job the only minor problem was the toilet it needs to be turned 90 degrees as it could be a bit tight for a large or tall person apart from that its an ibis and i love them
Every time I come back to Dresden, I will definitely stay in this same hotel because of its location, friendly staff, and very good room rate. They also provides very reliable WiFi services (foc if you are a ibis business card holder). If you compare with the hotel just across the street (Pullman), which has very good room, Ibis wins in terms of service attitude from the staff.
Hotel is close to train station in Dresden, managed to get room from 9th floor which was nice. room was large enough for 2 persons and staid only one night in hotel. Room was clean and tidy. Would stay in hotel again if needed
Located in the very center of Dresden beside a pedestrian street with shops and with large car park just behind. Close to the main sights and the train station. Surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Breakfast area might be crowded when a tour coach stays overnight.
fromout side looks not so well, but the standard room was nice. And bed was very well! Thank you for the very well sleep. Bathroom was clean. Staff at the reception could be more friedly. We prefare it
Needing TLC . No security lifts, Dirty Dangling curtains due to missing hooks. Clearly audible crane working near the station despite double glazing. Decoration for Christmas could have taken a leaf out of Praha Prague's book, which was exceptional . Reception are to be commended for their efforts
A lovely stay in this perfectly located hotel, warm and cosy despite freezing temperatures outside. Staff were very helpfull and everthing was a good as we expected. Dresden is a lovely place to visit for the Xmas markets or anyother time of the year,
One of the best "IBIS" which stayed. Quality of sleeping, service, breakfast, etc. all the best. Very helpful and friendly personnel. Parking - 6 Euro/day - 50 meters from the hotel. Shopping city center. Dresden monuments - short walk. I sincerely recommend, specially that is not so expensive.
Nice room, not too large, not too small. Bathroom was a little cramped but it was clean and that was more important. Good location, close to the central station the old town is just a walk away. walk past the old town for about 15-20 minutes and you reach the iconic "Frauenkirche". In all a good experience.
The hotel is the same standard as all hotels in the world, but we were didn't receive a good tratment from any of the four attendants on the reception, in different time and moments. They didn't care about our necessities even before we talk about them. In Germany we stayed in 5 different cities. Dresden was the only city where the treatment was not appropriated. The managers should be aware of it.
Very pleasant and comfortable stay. Most reliable hotel, year in, year out, having stayed here many times from well before Ibis days. First stay was 1972. Much more modern now of course and staff are always friendly (at least since 1996)!
The people on the desk were very helpful and friendly especially with where to park the car. We were expecting a normal room but we were given a suite instead. It was lovely and had plenty of room. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great. We could easily walk to what we wanted to see, especially the Zwinger.
The location and breakfast were excellent. Two things to note: * the staff was rude * that day was too hot and the air conditioner wasn't working, I told the reception and they sent the technician who told us that it is working but because it's too hotel outside the room is too hot. He didn't convince us by this answer.
Basic but convenient hotel if traveling to Dresden by train. Short walk to major sights. Staff were knowledgable and helpful which made up for the lack of comfort. Ibis has 3 hotels which are side by side-this was the middle one.
3 nights stay , Good accomodations Train Station closer Nice Breakfast No free WiFI access No welcome drinks offered to me (Silver status Accor Member) Reasonable WiFi access PArking area Easy access to main atractions in Dresden
Internt hard to access I did int have a iPad with me and found the computer impossible to use within the free half hour. My friend initially had trouble putting in the codes for her iPad. It was so easy at Prague Ibis Wenceslas square. Beds not as comfortable as Wenceslas square. Pleased to find a Bible in 3 languages in my room. otherwise a pleasant stay
