Large room, convenient. Very liked central location, close to bus station, Some problem for us was lack of kettle and mini bar. Internet wasn't our problem, but access is limited in this hotel. We were a bit surprised that we had to pay 1 Euro for each piece of luggage to be put into luggage storage room.
Everything you could want from a hotel. Clean, good location - everywhere walkable, train and trams nearby. Breakfast good. I will use the hotel again, when I next visit Dresden. Good WiFi connection, all over hotel.
We stayed 5 night ! We love the location and the price are value for money! It is near the train stations, so it is convenient for day trips to other towns and we can walk to all the attractions! Overall we stay again if we are back to this beautiful city!
A good hotel for access to the railway station, have used it several times. A little dated with a fairly small bathroom, Great breakfast range. No as well soundproofed as some more modern hotels. No free WIFI in room.
The hotel is well placed for Dresden centre, but parking is a nightmare if you arrive on a weekend or peak time. Wifi is very expensive, so I didn't bother. The bathroom is small - luckily I'm not large, but if you're overweight you'll struggle. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows had the thickness of a paper sheet. The front desk staff were a little brusque. However on a positive note, the room was very quiet and the breakfast good. The lack of room safe was notable. Would I stay again, possibly, but I would look elsewhere first.
Hotel in the city center, close to the main station and the old town. Check-in fast and professional, friendly staff. Room small, narrow single beds. Bathroom very small, poor cosmetics. Generally clean, but could use a cleaning, not only around the bed, but under them. Possibility to leave luggage. If you are not bound by loyalty program you should look for something else in a similar price.
First the good. The staff are very polite, helpful and professional. The location is excellent, just a few steps from the main train station and a short walk to Dresden city centre. In typical Ibis style the rooms are clean and comfortable if not a little small. However there is a lack of attention to detail in the rooms that I have enjoyed at other Ibis hotels. No refrigerator or ice, no safe, no tea / coffee making facility. There was a bottle of water but with a a big tag reading "€4.50" attached to it. Seriously!? There is bicycle hire which I decided to use one morning. I was told it would be €10 for the day and a €10 deposit. I presented my credit card only to be told "no cards". This is daft considering I paid for the hotel room using a credit card on-line and again to pay my tourist tax when checking in! I then walked to an ATM to get cash but by the time I got there I just thought "Forget it I'll walk" The breakfast is excellent but be aware there is an extra charge for it. There is wifi but be aware there is also an extra charge for this and it is quite expensive. I reserved in advance on the ibis website and chose a room rate that included breakfast and wifi which appears to be the most cost effective way getting these extras if they are important to you.
Room very small bathroom even smaller, lots of wasted space in door way to the room, no free wifi had to walk to next door to get my welcome drink! Lifts very small and slow always full of people coming from floors above
This hotel is not provided the free Wi-Fi access in the room. It is only able to access the free Wi-Fi at lobby but it is only 60 minutes that it is not make sence for guest. The guest will not be convenient to stay in the lobby for access free internet. I have not seen from now on there stiill be other hotels in worldwide that we have to buy the internet to access in the room. So I will not recommend to others to stay at this hotel in the future.
Very conveniently located hotel in the heart of the city. Less than 10 minutes walk from the main train station. Only negative points is the lack of power sockets in the room, and not conveniently located power sockets.
Near by train station, just 5 minute.. Shopping friendly area. TK MAXX is just by the hotel. Clean and calm. Shopping mall and center is a few step. Historical area / old town is just 10 minute walk away.
Ibis Dresden Bastei is situated in the central shopping area of Dresden, and only less than 10 minutes walk from the Dresden Main Train Station (HBF). The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I always stay in this hotel whenever I am in Dresden (at least 4 times a year)
Stayed for one night. Very helpful and pleasant staff throughout. Excellent room, very clean, quiet and tidy. Nice distance from the lovely town of Dresden in a pedestrian area. Let me park the motorbike next to the back door, nice and secure. A very good breakfast choice also. Would definitely visit again.
The receptionist looked expressionless and just provided standard replies. No free wifi in the hotel is certainly a minus. However, cleanliness and accessibility to the main station are the really good.
had a nice stay. room is clean and nice. Problem was with parking - on the website of ibis it is said that parking is free, but all the personnel was surprised upon hearing this. Website gives false information and it shouldn't be like that. Other than that everything else was good, and location is great.
Great location to town centre and train station. We used Dresden as a drop off place for the car on our way to Prague. Stayed in Dresden on our return night. Did not have time to look around the shopping area but did enjoy the dining out
I have stayed at this hotel many times, and the quality of service has consistently been excellent. This is real value for money. Courtesy of most of the staff at reception desk and in restaurant is outstanding. Quality of breakfast also very good. And the location in pedestrian zone in Dresden city also excellent. Walking distance to Central Station.
Pretty good location, friendly stuff, reasonable price. Hotel is located just in the shopping area. Near to old town. Very big parking place behind hotel - 6 euro per 24 h. As usually good breakfast, but with elements of traditional German kitchen - original sausages
Just what you would expect from a large professional organisation which in my many experiences is very well run, sociable, friendly and usually very good value for money - though sometimes the breakfasts are getting a bit pricey when a cup of coffee and a roll is all you want!
One of 3 Ibis hotels on the main shopping street of Dresden just a short walk from the railway station and about 10 minutes from the magnificent sights of Dresden old town. There is no restaurant at the Bastei for evening meals (nor was there a bar during our stay) but there is one at the middle one of the 3 Ibis tower blocks, about 20m. away. There are, however a number of other restaurants in the area. For loads of choice the old town is the place to be with restaurants of every variety lining the narrow streets. The Bastei was a comfortable hotel, typical of the Ibis chain. The rooms were clean and well presented as you would expect of the brand. There was limited storage space for clothes, again expected but as we stayed for 9 nights it was a case of living out of a suitcase. Our only slight moan was the speed of the lifts. There were 4 of them but they were slow and being on one of the higher floors meant a longish wait at busy periods. For anyone who wants to make the most out of visiting Dresden and the surrounding area of Saxon Switzerland a Dresden Card is available. This gives access to the buses, trams and local trains in the area as well as discounted entry to museums but as we were not visiting many museums we found the local transport company, The VVO, had a much cheaper weekly ticket which gave access to lines as far as the Czech border and Meissen and allowed free travel on many of their partner services. Saxon Switzerland is largely unknown outside Germany. It is a real gem and the Ibis Dresden Bastei is a comfortable base to explre the area.
