Nice basic hotel at basic pricing. You get what you pay for. Parking lot is a bit full sometimes but the extra charge fora very basic breakfast is not of these times anymore. I skipped the breakfast for this reason.
On arriving at reception staff too busy on telephone and indifferent to their customers, all other hotels had been friendly and efficient and included a welcome drink voucher (silver membership) this hotel struggled to locate our booking. The restaurant in the evening was similarly off hand as if we were doing them a favour, staff almost rude and off hand, food as ok but their service was shocking deteriorated since our last visit.
Great place to stop off.Good food in the restaurant, easy to park and clean modern interiors.convenient location for the town and shopping plus easy to find off the motorway.would certainly stop here again en route.Wifi works well and staff are helpful and friendly.Food in the restaurant is well above average with a nice atmosphere
Ive used this hotel on many occasions, comfortable rooms, excellent menu, both indoor and outdoor restaurant seating, pleasant staff. Situated close to autoroute by retail site and other dining opportunities.
A lovely clean hotel and newly refurbished room.. On this stay, the room had a very strong smell of paint so I had to keep the window open. As my room overlooked the road, it was noisy and resulted in me having a poor night's sleep. A pity as I was driving to Italy the next day.
Easy to find among several other Accor hotels, it is not the one next to the Courtpaille, easy to park, welcoming staff and a comfortable bed at an OK price. Breakfast standard Ibis, and none the worse for that.
The staff were efficient and friendly - they willing provided ice for an injured knee. Breakfast was comprehensive with a good buffet election. The hotel is easy to find but not close to the town centre. Parking is free and secure. There is a nice pool and terrace - unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to use.
En route to Italy and in need of a good rest! Booked this hotel and found it to be excellent. Service was great and the rooms were extremely comfortable. It was very hot whilst we were there and so very grateful for efficient air conditioning in the rooms.
We've stayed here twice in a month. Typical clean Ibis room, though first one smelt of drains. It has a pool that might appeal to some. Manager and most staff were charming but there is a receptionist called Mélanie who seems to see it as her mission in life to be obstructive. The idea of solving problems for the customer would seem totally alien to her.
We found the Chalon sur Saone Ibis better than we expected! Directions and SignPosting were very good. The reception was very warm and friendly and Ludovic was particularly helpful. We enjoyed the walking tour of the historic part of town and the shopping experience in the commercial centre but best of all was the use of the swimming pool and terrace bar followed by a great meal and wine choice and a better bedroom (and bed) than we had experienced at Beaune Centre 2 weeks earlier! The Chalon sur Saone staff were the most helpful and welcoming we have experienced this year. Thank you.
This hotel is great for a stop over if on the way down to the south of France or further away,it's just off the autoroute and the staff are very friendly, just a suggestion though maybe the TV could cater for English speaking people as only channel you can get is BBC world news which isn't much good for kids etc
This hotel is located nearby to a shopping centre and access roads, but still provides for quiet rooms with the usual high Ibis quality. Restaurant is fine indeed, no need to enter the city to go elsewhere for dinner. City centre is not far off though by car, but parking requires carefull looking for a suitable parking
Great value for money, just a one night stopover, very convenient for the autoroute. Had a superb dinner in the restaurant. Would recommend this hotel, the only downside is that pets are allowed, however, this didn't cause a problem just not used to pets in a hotel !
An excellent hotel, situated on the outskirts of the city, just over the road from a shopping centre/petrol station. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of very good pastries. The pool outside although small looked inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The location of this hotel, opposite a commercial centre and alongside a major road, did not bode well. However, although the general appearance & design of the building and, especially, the bedrooms are typical of the Ibis chain (i.e. a bit basic and dated), the cleanliness and standards of maintenance were beyond reproach. The service received from all staff was excellent and our dinner was of good quality, well-presented and very reasonably priced. Worthy of particular mention is the swimming pool which was the best that we encountered on our three week trip. We most certainly would use this as an overnight transit stopover again.
Very good hotel for an overnight stop. All facilities relatively new and restaurant first class. Location near to town centre and very convenient to motorway links. The food in restaurant was very good with an excellent plat du jour choice plus a la carte. Breakfast was to Ibis standard.
