although this hotel is older the rooms are more than adequate, bed very good, staff wonderful and always very welcoming and helpful. F00d in the restaurant good without being outstanding but the prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was very good. In all the attitude of the staff made it a very enjoyable stay
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was clean and very spacious, with a good bathroom arrangement (shower totally separated from the toilet seat by wall and door) optimizing use for the family. Excellent location one block from free tram lines and Victoria Market, cafes and convenience stores. Only downside was some noise from the street in the morning. Staff was helpful, 24 hour reception.
I stayed for five days soon after 2018 New Year. Had asked for a quiet room which I got although it looks as though most rooms would be removed from traffic noise. For me the bed is the second most important aspect of a comfortable stay - not too soft, not too hard. It was just right. Servicing of the room was efficient and friendly. An included breakfast can sometimes not come up to scratch but the breakfast buffet was extensive and fresh although a selection of a couple of less sweet cereals and a yoghurt selection other the strawberry would be great. I'll certainly stay there again
It was my first time traveling to Melbourne and it was a great experience. My stay at the ibis hotel made it even better. You are located right in the middle of the city. It was nice because I got to walk around and explore so easily. The room was great and they had breakfast for a small fee which totally helped me save money. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
A great location, close to tram, walking distance to Bourke St shops or Melbourne University. The beds were comfortable and the room was fresh and clean. It was all we needed for a good nights sleep in the city.
this was the second time i have stayed at the Ibis Melbourne .. great room great service and great location. was greeted as customer of the day with a plate of yummy goodies in my room for me will deffs be back when ever staying in melbourne
the first room I was checked into smelt like fish not pleasant. Jay from reception came up to spray the room with Glen 20 and it did not help on the second night the room was changed thank goodness. After this absolutely all good
The service was excellent, issues with the room were dealt with after a 2nd call, but a very nice treat by way of apology was provided as recompense. Only negative was menu was to my liking, - but that is personal to me and not a reflection on the offering
we had a great weekend in melbourne. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was so nice. We got a very nice upgrade which was so nice for our daughter who was there for her birthday. Also the complementary drink was a great surprise.
Recommend not booking through the hotel or Accor group directly. Third parties like woftif/trivago/bokings.com look after the customer better. The Hotel and chain are comfortable taking the money for months in advance and use "terms and conditions" to hold the money even having notice that the room is available. Advise looking around .. there are others way more customer-friendly.
Expecting a pre-arranged wakeup call at 5.00am which was never received. Checked out, finding it was not on the Reception computer along with pre-arranged taxi. However the pre-arranged taxi was at the entrance waiting for my party. So, obviously something had gone astray. Only complaint would be the lack of suitable blankets, as some of us like blankets, due to the irratic aircon temperature - hard to control.
My family always choose to stay at Ibis Melbourne whenever we go back to Melbourne because of its location. The location is nearby QVM, Free Tram Zone area, and Melbourne Central Station. Overall, services and cleanliness are okay 👌
It was a very bad idea of staying at ibis melbourne at therry street. Very rude manager on duty not ready to comply with the things written in the confirmation maik. We reached ibis at around 7am on 1st sept 17 and as requested asked the keys of the room to which the duty manager said that the room is not ready till 2pm. It was chilling cold and we were with our 2.5 years old daughter. Then we showed him the mail we got from accor that the room keys will be ready on our arrival but still he was not ready to listen to it. He was continuously changing his statement. He asked for 30aud extra payment to get the room ready. He was very rude and also threaten us that he can make us leave the hotel. We were in such a situation coz if the cold and small daughter that we paid 30 dollars. It was a very bad experience I was getting a better deal at the same hotel from some other website but after calling them they told us that if we book through accor we can be assured that the room will be ready on our arrival.very rude manager doesn't know what custo.er service is. Will never ever recommend ibis to anyone travelling to melbourne.
Great location easy walk to most places, good amenities, clean, small compared to most hotels but big enough for a very comfortable visit. Would go back there for next trip to Melbourne. Staff very friendly
Just a 100 metre walk to Queen Victoria Markets, Tram stop, restaurants in every direction, 10 minute walk from Lygon St. Reception staff are very knowledgeable, and professional, restaurant on site, good breakfast. Taxi rank outside
Great value for location, comfortable rooms and easy access to the city via public transport and walking distance. Queen Vic market also walking distance. Parking is very tight but still accessible. Staff very friendly and helpful
A well located IBIS apartment but some improvements needed. This appears to be an office block converted into apartments. Basic IBIS accommodation as you would expect for the price but great to have a microwave, large fridge, tea/coffee, toaster available to use. Air conditioning was stifling HOT and we asked this to be fixed every day - it didn't seem to get fixed as our nights were spent sweating like we were spending a night in Bangkok! Rooms were not always cleaned properly which was disappointing. Well located to Queen Vic Markets, the CBD and Lygon Street. Also on the "free tram zone".
Room was very hot. Air did not work. Hallway smelled like a restaurant. Restaurant service was good but that was the only thing acceptable about it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances.
So welcoming and accommodating. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. As Gold Accor members they made sure we were looked after along with upgrades, chockies in the room and drink vouchers. Well situated would stay again.
Great Valued Hotel close to cafe's, shops and public transport, first time i have stayed at this hotel but definitely will be back. staff were great and the rooms were clean, tidy, quite and quite modern
