Small hotel in the centre of town near railway station. Only disappointment was no evening restaurant Breakfast very good. TV good with BBC World but no CNN. Workmen doing repairs during the day made a lot of noise

nice place, well located near the tramway. cheap rates and pleasant stay. Breakfast was simple but fine, croissant were really good, and people working there were really nice and hospitable. The Hotel is 5 min walking from the tram stop and 20 minutes walking from the heart of the city.

In unsavoury part of Bordeaux. Late night noise, drunks urinating everywhere and vomiting on nearby parked cars. Never again at any price. Place needs security guards or police attendance. Screaming at 4 am after a cadence of un,deux , trois so no accident or fear of consequences

This was a short break to Bordeaux. Hotels in the city centre were fully booked due to our late decision to travel. Staying near the train station was not our first choice, but it ended up working quite well since there was private parking and public transportation (Tram) was just 2 blocks away. The hotel staff was very attentive to our requests and breakfast was excellent.

We were more than satisfied of our stay at Ibis Bordeaux Centre Gare Sain Jean. It was Walking distance to the railroad, the room was better than expected, larger than expected. quiet, good bathroom, wonderful bed and a very fresh breakfast buffe.

the young lady on reception was very helpful, and was also very busy, answering phone, replying to computer requests, serving coffee, serving drinks, she was doing all this with a smile ,but i thought she needed assistance, the rooms as expected clean and tidy.

This hotel was very central. By shuttle bus from airport it was only 30 mins. It's location was a short walk from the train station and tram. The room was clean and serviced daily. Hotel staff were friendly and most helpful.

A very disappointing experience. When we arrived we did not notice that the window in our room had been left slightly open the consequence of which we were attacked by "mustiques" during the night. Also very annoying was the ineffective air conditioning system in the room given the very high temperatures at that time. We have stayed in many ACCOR hotels over the years but this stay was truly memorable given the unpleasant experience.

We enjoyed our stay at this Ibis, which is a little distance away from the main sights of Bordeaux but very handy for the railway station. Staff were very pleasant, our room was adequate, quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection was standard Ibis fare but there was no tortilla. The hotel has an enclosed paying car park. The front of the hotel faces Quai de Paludate which could be noisy, so opt for a room that faces the car park - not too inspiring but quiet.

I attempted my poor french, though was greeted by a person who spoke back in English and spoke a number of languages. The staff where helpful, gave us a pack of information about Bordeaux also in English. The room was small (but you expect this for a city centre location), however it was well appointed with hairdryer, flat screen tv and comfortable bed as well as a view on to the river. The breakfast was good and plentiful. We found the hotel well located for walking into the centre and for the railway station.

We were on a cycling holiday passing through Bordeaux and stayed here for 2 nights. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and efficient. We were travelling with our own bikes and they catered for our every need. Their cycle storage area was very secure. The Ibis is ideally placed for getting to the main Bordeaux St Jean train station (5 min walk) as well as the city centre (30 min walk, 15 min cycle or 10 min tram ride). Cost of a tram ride is 1,5€ per journey. In addition to visiting Bordeaux, we were travelling onto other French cities, ie La Rochelle and Biarritz and used the trains to travel with our bikes. Hence the location of the hotel was ideal for the main train station. If you are travelling from the airport, then getting to the hotel is easy. There is a shuttle bus to and from train station every 30 mins.

Hotel location in Bordeaux is excellent. Small bar is nice and room tidy. Breakfast is moderate but content is OK. It is easy travel by tram all around the city and the old down town is at walking distance from the hotel.

Stayed here a few times before. Convenient hotel 5-10 mins walk from the Gare, and though near a main street intersection it's quite quiet. Staff excellent, happy to provide advice etc. [especially Celine - perfect reception staff really making me feel welcome in Bordeaux]. A bit out of town but 3 minutes walk from a tram stop to enable you to easily get to the centre. My only question would be around the bar - there is a beer pump in the bar, but no bier pression! Apparently it has never worked, so only beer available is SMALL bottles. Please rectify this, as it makes the beer you do have very expensive.

I stayed at this hotel from 7-12 September and it was absolutely fine. I booked to stay overnight on 19 September and had a very different experience - the worst I've had at an Ibis hotel. There was an infestation of mosquitoes in my room and the quilt was dirty. I called reception and asked to change rooms but the night porter came and plugged in mosquito repellent (it didn't make any difference) and changed the quilt. After he left I spent the next couple of hours chasing mosquitoes around the room - and I still had several bites the following morning. One of the worst hotel experiences I've had.

The hotel is very close to the main railway station and there is a tram stop 100 metres away from the hotel. It lasts less than 5 minutes to get to the Place de la Bourse or Quinconces by tram. The river is opposite, ideal for runners or sport lovers in the oprn air. Excellent! I will choose it again if ever returning to Bordeaux

The rooms are basic, but clean and tidy...all you need for a short stay (bring your own face-cloth)... Staff are friendly and all that I dealt with Sophie very good English ..better than mine?? Nice little Bar if you want/need a night-cap. And the price us always right with IBIS

Nice and clean hotel. Closed to the train station. Staff was really nice and helpful. The only problem we had was that the room was full of mosquitoes so we didn't managed to sleep that well even after killing couple of them :)

Hotel is easy to find and has on site parking. Although a 20 min walk into the main centre it is well located and near the Rocade and thus convenient for getting to the Airport. Rooms a bit small but very clean and beds are really comfortable. staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

Good hotel, friendly helpfull staff. Decent breakfast at reasonable price. Very convenient for Main railway station, Saint Jean. Airport bus also leaves every 45 mins from the railway station. Bedroom decent size, clean, free Wifi easy to use and reasonable speed. Walk along the river front starts next to the hotel. Old town is a 15 min walk.

Anyone going for a short visit to Bordeaux and you need to be close to the train station? I would highly recommend staying here. Actually even if you don't need to be close to the train station, the hotel is not far from the city centre - about 5 tram stops away or you can walk it in 15 minutes. The room was pleasantly bright, modern design, clean and spacious - for the price of €49/night, it was probably the best value for my money yet. Although the room faced the busy street and train tracks, with the double windows we heard no noise at all! The bathroom was spacious, modern again with a glass wall for the shower instead of an icky shower curtain. It could have been just slightly longer so the water didn't splash onto the floor while you showered but with the bath mat that was already provided (and I didn't have to go ask for one as you normally have to!) it wasn't that big a problem in the end. There were extra hooks to hang your clothes or wet towels which was very thoughtful too. The soap was sufficient for washing your hands and face and hair plus the hairdryer worked well! Definitely a place to go back to if I am going to Bordeaux again and I would recommend it to anyone!
