Stayed here overnight with my wife on a visit to Luxembourg centre. It is a reasonably priced hotel (paid 90 euros) but don’t expect too much. The room was very small and the bathroom absolutely tiny. Breakfast was a perfunctory affair with only the basics on offer and a long queue for the only coffee/tea machine. On the positive side it is well located, being only 10-15 min walk to the centre of town. Also the room and hotel in general were clean and the staff helpful.
I am a Gold Member of Accor Hotels and booked this Ibis Styles as it was close to Luxembourg station. The hotel is located in the RED LIGHT DISTRICT. There are drug dealers and prostitutes outside the hotel. It was intimidating to walk outside after 5pm so we couldn't go out for meals. Booked a double room which was tiny. The bathroom, which contains a shower, sink and toilet, was the size of a bath! Despite being on a no smoking level we could smell cigarettes. Internet is not open access and requires you to sign up - this is different to ALL other European Ibis and Accor hotels I've stayed in. Breakfast was stale - the same croissants were put out for days. The fruit was well past consumption - on of the pears has split open and was oozing brown stuff. We met 2 reception staff. The man was helpful, the woman was clueless. We asked the woman where there was a gym we could use and she gave us a map with lots of instructions to walk about 1km - she said she didn't know the area where the hotel was very well. Once we walked outside with the map we saw a gym across the road from the hotel - how could she not even notice what was on the street. If you ask you can get a 10% discount voucher for the confusing but nice Italian restaurant around the corner.
Tiny room, you will need to open your large suitcase over the bed. Bathroom is so small, not usable if you are overweight. Bad neighborhood with prostitutes offering their services in the evening. Expensive. Easy to reach the train station.
I asked the receptionist guy for a thin pillow and he said they just have one size, thats impacts the quality of your sleep. The room and the bathroom are so small that looks like that were not planned to have a bed and a toilet bowl respectivelly. On the other hand, the breakfast is very good, with many options of bread, fruits and fresj orange juice. I hope Ibis should review their policy to have differerent sizes of pillow to attend all customer requirements next time.
very simple and a ridiculousy small bathroom. Locations is good, near the center and the train stations. The underground garage is good, with good access. The staff were attentive and keen to make our stay enjoyable.
This hotel is located 5 minutes from the Gare Centrale, from where one can catch not only trains but also local and long-distance buses. It is a 5 minute bus journey to the old town (2 euros during the week, 4 euros for a 24 hour pass, free at weekends). The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. We were on the 5th floor and the rooms were small. The windows were also small and set high up so it was difficult to pull the blinds up and down. Breakfast choices were more limited than at most other Ibis hotels at which I have stayed.
Room is small, but it's ok. It's more a business hotel not for leisure, so if business is the plan of your trip, then this hotel fulfilled the expectation. Location nearby a lot of shops and restaurants. Private parking is available, but if you have a big car then it is difficult to park. For a small car is perfect.
This a hotel where you don't go its charm or design, although it is called Ibis Styles. It is probably an older hotel that has been converted to be an Ibis Styles. The breakfast room is the only place that is 'kind of' modern. The breakfast has a limited choice but is quite good. I believe it is always included in the room price in this hotel.
The location is great, about a 5 minute walk from the central train station and 15 minutes from the old town. Very knowledgeable staff at the front desk and friendly breakfast service. Nice touch with squeeze your own orange juice. Super clean sheets on comfy beds. The rooms extremely small that you can only open your suitcase on the bed. Even with a gentlemans club next door extremely quite.
Should you come to LX for a business trip or for a weekend trip this hotel, just in the street opposite to the station could be a good option. I used already several times this hotel when it was Mercure. My top floor room was small but it is OK for the purpose. Should you have sleeping problem, ask probably another floor as the noises from the flights and the elevator could be disturbing. But it is not so big issue, I will come back probably next time, too. The receptionist(s) were very kind, helpful. The breakfast was really OK. I highly appreciated that coffee /tea machine is available throughout the day. For people with some overweight, I would recommend to ask the reception to allocate room with a larger bathroom. For me it was OK.
No big surprise that in an Ibis styles hotel the rooms are small. In my case both the room and the bathroom were very small. But: you find everything that you need: a comfortable bed, free wifi, a small desk, clean bathroom. Breakfast is included in the price of the room, the choice is not very big but everybody, I mean meat-eaters and vega persons can find something to eat. The free coffee or tea during the day - until 10 pm. is a bonus and the staff is very kind and helpful.Another advantage is that it is very close to the station.
The local bars (strip clubs), may put you off this hotel but inside I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were all very smiley and helpful speaking a range of languages. The room was perfect with very comfy beds and a TV. Breakfast was a self service continental buffet with a juice machine and you could have free hot drinks until 10pm. The hotel is very easy to find and at the bottom of the street is the main railway station. Around the corner from the hotel are a few more bars, a mini market which is very reasonable and a lovely Nepalese restaurant. What more could you ask for!
Appalled that accor permits its brand on this property. Drug dealers on the corner, a bar adjacent with (very mature) prostitutes hanging out, and other very dodgy people on the street. Worse, I was able to walk straight in unchallenged twice...security? Ibis 24/7 standard also not being followed. But..the former comment more serious. How can ACCOR make a mistake like this...I met 3 German ladies who were much more uncomfortable I can assure you.. As a well travelled male who can manage himself I am not "worried" but I would not recommend this location to most people. In around 8 entry/exit of the place I fended off druggies 3 times. Enough already,!
Everything is small. The door of restroom is difficult to close and open. Washbasin is special made in very small size. No space to place the luggage on the floor. I've got black and blue on my legs when walk around the room. Breakfast is under average, not various. No safety box in room. I wont stay here again and not recommend.
it's hotel excellent. also inside room from hotel. i drunk tea hot from night good. it's room is very own. i haven't problem in hotel good. it's wifi excellent. it's bed good. i visited in Luxembourg. it's beautiful. nice to meet you !
Forgot my phone charger and they sent it to me by mail. Good service! Neighbourhood was al bit rough with pubs and strip clubs but not unfriendly or anything like that. Very close to train station and den Atelier, our destination.
A refurbished older hotel close to the railway station that offers the basics you need for one or two nights good sleep without spending too much time in the room as they are rather small but functional. Neighbourhood around the railway station is not appealing but if you are travelling by train it is an easy 5 minutes walk.
Rooms are very very small could not bend over to wash face in bathroom without opening the door to the bathroom... had to enter shower sideways to get in. Internet did not work in first room had to switch rooms.... in a section of town that did not lend itself to a feeling of security and comfort when leaving the hotel to tour the town... was close to train station but with public transportation what it is in Europe any other hotel would have been easy to get too.... never stay at this hotel again!
As always we had very comfortable and nice stay. Additional pluses are free coffee, wifi, luggage storage. We are pleased with very kind attidude of the reception staff. Highly recommended for a stay in Luxemburg.
We have stayed in a number of IBIS hotels and this was our worst experience. There was noise from outside the hotel until 3am, the room was small the bathroom very small and the decor a bit shabby. The car park was extremely difficult to maneuver in and I thought I wasn't going to get out at all! A Fiat 500 would be OK, anything bigger and you will be rubbing against the carpet on the walls, like I did. IBIS should sell this hotel and get a better one to protect it's image. On a positive note the staff were friendly and efficient, the breakfast OK and there was free coffee in the bar until 10pm. But that is not enough for me to return and I am thankful we are booked in a different hotel for our return trip
