This was a great central hotel experience, perfect for our two day stay in Aachen. The online check-in made arrival and check out fast and easy. The room was simple and clean, EXACTLY as it appeared in the images online. We appreciated the location a lot, he central downtown area and basically everywhere else we wanted to go was within walking distance. The morning brunch was just what we needed the morning of our departure. Tasty food, helpful and patient staff.
The hotel was located near the main railway station. Distance to the city center was abt. 2 km. Our room was really tiny, no reasonable space for our luggage. The view from the window was poor; to the opposite hotel wall and windows. First morning we took breakfast but there was some mess-up an we were told that we are not allowed to eat. Soon the situation was straightened and they found that we had paid already the breakfast. Next mornin we did not take breakfast.
Good location (10 minutes walk from historical townd centre), breakfast was perfect (you can make your own pancakes, breakfast until 11h), room was basic (very small bathroom) but clean and comfortable (good bed). Perfect for a weekend.
Good hotel in good location for the city centre and also train station. Has secure parking for those travelling by car as we did. Did not use restaurant but has a large breakfast room and snack facilities. Also has a small bar.
The personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was ok, only the small bathroom was a slight disappointment. The electric heating was a bit surprising as it had to be manually controlled, but good comfort was reached.
The hotel is very close to the train station. I chose the checking in advance and everything was ready. The room is quite small but functional. WiFi connection worked pretty well. The staff is smiling and available A blanket could be proposed to replace the duvet
Rooms very cramped, particularly the "bathroom" which is too small for larger people. The floors are usually full of fluff (the soles of our slippers verify this) and this seems to be a common problem with Ibis hotels. One of the reception staff was most unhelpful and made every request a problem. If we stay in Aachen again, the Marschiertor Ibis is much better.
Small room with a super small bathroom. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Noisy location but close to the city centre at walking distance of major cultural and shopping points. Protected car parking in the basement.
Arrived hurly at hotel.Being frequent travellers we known hotels have secure area for luggage until check-in time so you may enjoy your day. Not giving me any time to talk the employee lectured me on check-in time.Good one for customer service.
I was awoken at 1 a m by television blasting out and lots of people talking. The noise was coming through the heating vents which rise vertically from floor to floor/room to room throughout the building! I eventually managed to get moved as the hotel was not full, but I could NOT recommend it to anyone who was not a heavy sleeper! A shame as the staff were helpful, room was comfortable and breakfast good.
Hotle and breakfast were ok, I just encounter an issue with the chair in the breakfast room which are made of wood and have some eneven angles, leading to my stockings to be broken, brand new stockings with a ladder , not so nice , I guess they need to change the chair for plastic ones , yes Women still wear stockings .. and are in Business too ..otherwise Good hotle no worries.
we now took this place for the 4th time because it is very close to the station and has an excellent price-performance ratio. The city is reachable by foot in about 15 min. The rooms are very compact but all facilties are appropriate, good in shape and very clean. There is no disturbance by any traffic noise from the street, only activities of other guests in the floor are sometimes audible. Recommendable for people who want to spend some days in Aachen without car and need a convenient place to sleep.
The hotel is at 250 m from Aachen mainstation, which is very comfortable for travellers. High speed trains Thalys and ICE stop there. In addition the city center and main old buidings are at 20 minute walk. The hotel itself has the usual Ibis type of accommodation, which is fine. The reception is helpfull and cooperative.
Ibis Hauptbahnhof is situated near the old Inner city of Aachen, and a very good starting point for visiting the Christmas Market. The Townhall and the Chapel of Charlemagne with their beautifull lights were a wonderfull background.
Well positioned, 10 min. walk from centre and Christmas markets. Has private car park, but get their early to get place. Staff friendly and speak English. Second stay here, first time had very big room but this time just average size. Clean rooms. Good value for money.
A typical Ibis hotel, clean and functional. The staff are friendly and the rooms reasonably sized. Breakfast was ok but could do with hot food other than just scramble eggs. No restaurant in the hotel but there are several within 5 minutes walk.
OK location for the price, just a standard cookie-cutter Ibis with fairly small rooms and an underground car park. The staff are not the friendliest we have ever experienced - when I stopped at reception on our way out simply to ask for an extra pillow the receptionist (male) immediately interrogated our account on the computer and started lecturing me about having to pay for our dog and for parking - which we already knew and assumed had all been sorted out when we checked in as we had arrived by car and had the dog with us at the time! To add insult to injury he then told me to ask for a pillow later on when we came back! Other than that it was OK, about 15 minutes on foot from the centre.
The location of the hotel is great.. really close to the center and the stuff was really helpfull at all times. Also the parking is really cheap which is great since parking in Aachen can be really expensive. The only minus point was the room, really small room and ridiculous compact bathroom. Also it was a bit noisy at night and we couldn't get a good sleep. not sure i would stay in this hotel again.
The hotel was very basic. Rooms and bathroom very small. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Location was great though - in walking distance to the Christmas markets. Requested adjoining rooms but the children where placed two floors down.
What you would expect of Ibis, but I think the other Aachen Ibis is actually slightly closer to the train station, despite the name! Service level varied - night staff were very good and accommodating, day staff seemed less interested, maybe distracted.
