Quite easy to find as it's next to the main station and not far from the motorway. Car-parking is next door in an underground car-park with favourable rates if you stay in the hotel. Excellent and efficient check-in. Quite standard rooms for an IBIS and you need your electronic key to access the lift to get to the bedrooms. Very busy hotel, but very quiet and within a short walk to the old town with a wide range of restaurants, cafes etc. Very busy at breakfast but the buffet was being constantly replenished and very swift to provide my wife and daughter with the gluten free options.
This is a good hotel - a little bit dated but perfectly ok. Good location for the train station, though a 10 minute or more walk to the city centre. Definitely worth the value. Parking right next door with discount for Ibis residents.
Altho both hotel and breakfast were good The reception staff left something to be desired I paid for breakfast and parking upon arrival but did not feel the need for a receipt. Different reception staff on check out had no record of this and required me to pay again. My only complaint
Looking for a hotel room in Paris last week and nothing is below 200 Euros. I've spent many years in Tours (many years ago) and knew I had the urge to go back and visit. One hour by train and hotel room rate at less than half, it was the right thing to do. Now I have seen review of this hotel (and I have stayed there before) complaining about the size of the bathroom, the food, the location, the neighborhood ... the whatever. Those reviews are either written by people who seldom travel and still think you can get a luxury suite for nothing, or people who just like to complain about everything. The bathroom is less than 2 square meters. Perfect!, so I can reach the towel rack while still in the shower. The food in the restaurant is not great. Get out and walk! Rue Colbert is only 15 minutes walk and there are plenty of good restaurants there. I recommend the Turon, or Les Canailles. Besides, walking before and after a meal is good for your health. The buildings around the hotel are ugly? Of course, Tours center was completely destroyed during WWII so you can see the post war architect style... Not to mention that the hotel is right in the administrative district, which means, it is VERY quiet at night, and this is something that I personally appreciate very much. What else? Oh, its 5 minutes walk to the train station. The bar is always open. The staff is friendly if you are friendly with them (bad treatment is what arrogant tourists deserve).
The Ibis Tours centre has put me up endless times over the years. Always a good sleep, quite a good breakfast and a perfect indoor parking next door. The restaurant now has a new menu and is worth a try. Food was slightly cold yet otherwise ok. Quite dedicated service for such a place. The reception is really helpful.Bathrooms are very small indeed, yet quite functional.
The proximity to the train station of the city of Tours is a great advantage. This hotel is a great opportunity to visit the castles of the Loire Valley nearby. Excellent facilities by the proposed price.
Ibis hotels are not five star but they offer reasonably-priced, clean and well-equipped bedrooms, excellent breakfasts, pleasant and welcoming staff, and are generally situated in central locations. Ibis Tours Gare is no exception and we have stayed there more than once. Sadly dinner was fully booked (it was a mid-August Saturday) but we found an excellent alternative in the Station brasserie, Cafe Leffe.
This is a modern, bright and very clean hotel. The rooms are quite small but the quality is good. The restaurant was a surprise....had a delicious evening meal and breakfast. Good location....can walk to Old Town and train station.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, in our Loire Valley visit. The room was not very large, the usual French Ibis size I would say. The double bed was large and comfortable. We had both breakfast and dinner in the hotel, quite good both of them. Parking entrance is right near the hotel entrance, stop to the reception first and ask for a parking ticket before going in. The hotel is <1km from the train station, and ~2km to the historic city area, but we used the car to move around.
Located some distance from town near the railway and a large number of flats. Had been once previously, was OK. Bedrooms small ,door hits bed, bolt in bathrooms. Obvious security issues as one needs a key for the lift, plus need to book in prior to entering public car park. Food was awful. Unable to bok for required dates as I was not booking enough rooms !!!!!
A nice clean and safe hotel, has all you want, except you need to be a contortionist to use the bathroom and toilet. Well positioned right at the heart of Tours next to the central station. Did not eat here, was room only.
First of all the rooms are tiny, and the bathroom looks like a cabin shower on a cheap ferry. I could not sit on the toilet without hitting my news on the wall... The welcome was mediocre. We had twin beds, which were so huddled together as to merge into a double bed... Would I return? No, it does not belong to this class, it should be. Uhe class budget minus...
I have stayed at ibis hotels many times, but never had the surprise of such a small room. You could barely enter the room or the toilet. Positive: location is very good, nearby the train station, rooms are clean, good wifi.
When compared with those Ibis hotels which are close to (or just opposite to) the railway station, this one need a little bit of walking, but still this is just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the SNCF Gare. The area around the hotel is a bit quiet. Strolling to the more lively town centre from the hotel takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and to the old town about half an hour. Nevertheless, this is still a good choice if you pick Tours as a base for touring the chateaux in the Loire Valley. As the hardware and software of Ibis chains are pretty much standardised, so there are no great variations or differences in their standard.
Clean and modern hotel within easy walking of Tours old town. Secure, but public parking next door. We've used this Hotel several times previously and would not hesitate to use it again, the breakfast is the same quality and variety as all Ibis Hotels.
the hotel is walking distance from the Tours train station and it was great value . We would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it. Tours was a very nice town. We walked everywhere.
We stay in this hotel just for one night. Hotel location is good. I was driving a car and I could purchase a 24 hours multiple in-out pass to park my car just next to hotel. Room was generally clean and good. Staff in the front desk is helpful. Would recommend this to my friends.
The hotel was very good and the position to the town and railway was great. The air conditioning was not working very well and the rooms are very small, but definitely value for money. Has a. Dry nice court yard to have a drink and relax.
En route across Europe and the Ibis Tours Centre Gare was a very convenient place to spend the evening. The hotel is well appointed and the staff are helpful. Tours is an interesting City, especially in the old part of town where there are some excellent restaurants. Try L'Atelier Gourmand.
The hotel was ideally placed to intercept the Tour de France at Tours and is ideally placed to visit much of the Loire valley chateaux and wine regions. Tours is a really good town to stay, being small enough and with great history itself to appreciate. The hotel is good and was surprisingly comfortable in our hot weather as the bedrooms are tiny and do not have air conditioning. The service was good and the personnel were very pleasant and accommodating.
