I stay here often to visit niece. Convenient, predictable, clean, safe. Quiet on backside of hotel. Don't have room on canal side if you sleep with windows open. Early morning trash collection is noisy there. Lots of shops and cafes along canal. Fun!
We very mich enjoyed our stay in Ibis Patis La Vilette Cité des Sciences very much. Easy check-in and check-out and friendly personnel. Good breakfast and service. The neigborhood has nice cafés and restaurants.
Well, it is very IBIS style hotel. You know what you will get. The advantage of this hotel is proximity to the metro station Corentin Carieu of line 7 and the parking garage connected by lift. And, possibly I should write it at the first place is the friendly staff at bar and at reception as well.
This hotel has a great position and offers a reasonable breakfast although with a limited choice. We stayed as part of a family group for a wedding. As I had booked several rooms in my name, I wrote to the manager in advance to explain the position. After three attempts i received a reply. On arrival at the hotel there was once again confusion about our bookings. I briefed the reception on the position and all seemed sorted. However when my 90 year old father arrived later that evening he was kept waiting 2.5 hours before getting into the tight room after a ten hour journey from the UK. Three times he was allocated a room on the seventh floor already occupied by someone else. In the Ibis reception there is a promise that any delay of more than 15 minutes at reception will result in a night's stay free. After raising this with the hotel four times the response after five days was to admit "confusion" and offer me some Accor points. Since I hope never to stay at an Accor hotel again this offer is useless and doesn't meet the promise in the Ibis reception. Recommend you avoid this hotel unless you enjoy disappointment.
Front desk people quie rude and not very accommodating. Could not find our booking at first then said we only have booked for a night then they just gave me a room probably the one that they had spare. Booked parking but at hotel been advised to park somewhere else quite a few streets away. Not impresed at all. Definitely not going there again. Hotels' decor quite "strange". Breakfast quite average not worth the monies paid. Disappointed
Quite a good location. A bit away of noisy Paris. A nice walk from the metro station Porte de Patin throuhg Parc de la Villette. Calm. Very nice staff. I think it was the 20th time I slept there. Or more. For my work, I'm one time a month in Paris and that's one of my favorites adresses.
We had a twin room for 4 nights, although the bathroom was very small, the bedroom was a good size and certainly accommodated 2 adults very well. The downside was that the room was very warm at night and the air conditioning was not available. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast was continental with meats and cheese, yoghurt, fruit, pancakes, bread and pasteries and there was plenty of it it.
We use to stay in this hotel for more than 15 years at least twice a year. It gives the opportunity of car parking for acceptable price, it is close to metro station line 7, I know some people from reception and I have few friends in bar service :-). This stay I have decided to use offer of package that includes accomodation, breakfetst and boat trip. The reception and bar worked as expected - well as ussual BUT the breakfest was very ugly experience. We camecto breakfest room about nine, the offer of food was limited, but acceptable. What is not acceptable was behavior of the service staff. Two men, older and younger, ignoring tototaly that we are just taking our morning coffee, started clean one part of room just behind our backs, made noice, used hoover and clening meanings, simply it was like to have a breakfest at fhe public toillet under the cleaning. Both spoke Italian, seems to me. The next day we had breakfest in half eight, the situation was a bit better, the cleaning lady did not use hoover yet. But the inorance was oresent as well. I cannot recommend to buy a breakfest in this hotel, for the same money you can get a better one in any café at the Avenue Flandres. Without ugly unfriendly faces.
The IBIS La Villette Cité de Sciences 19ème Paris is a bit old and run down with very small but functional rooms. My room and bathroom stank of cigarettes, but the main problem was that the air conditioning was not working. One can understand it needs to be inspected and upgraded once in a while but doing so in the month of July is not very clever and bad customer service. The room was extremely hot - no chance of getting a good night's rest. Moreover there is a lot of noise from doors opening and closing and even plumbing through the building all the time. Breakfast was overrun by two big groups and the staff were not able to cope with the rush.
Pros : Clean and good location. Very near to Metro Sation Corentin Cariou. About 5 minutes walk to the station. A lot of restaurants and also halal food. Very convenient. The hotel staffs are very helpful and able to speak English well. Room is clean. Cons : Very small bathroom.
The room was ok but small, then comes the bathroom. I couldn't get in the shower without leaving the bathroom door open. The extractor didn't work. We were moved from our first room as the heater didn't work. No in room facilities like kettle etc. The reception staff were good altho the"priority" staff was rude "demande ici " when I asked a simple question
In spite of bad weather, the hotel room offered comfort, recuperation as well as a stimulating view (from the window) of the peaks of the center of our Paris activities: the city of music. Staff: very friendly, helpful 'around the clock'!
Most staff great, other than the one that accused me of not paying for breakfast about three times... No tea/coffee making facilities in room, and not always staff in bar downstairs to provide such luxuries! No room service and kitchen closed on a Friday and Saturday night. Very clean and perfect location with a view out on to the canal.
The hotel is located in a calm and rather picturesque area. The room was clean, the bed good. Everything one expects from a good Ibis Hotel - apart from the aircon, which could not bring the room temperature down.
The hotel is in a beautiful location and not far from a metro stop. There's a little supermarket behind and a nice little cafe by the side of it called La Plage. The Parc de la Villettes is great for walking and exploring and lots for kids to do. We spent a good hour there every morning and kept finding new things to do and play on. The canal is lovely and great walks along there. There's a bike hire station just behind the hotel. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is probably in need of a bit of a face lift in places. The toilets in reception leave a bit to be desired. Our room had a large cigarette burn on the desk, a broken electrical socket and part of the rubber seal to the shower door was broken causing a lot of water to escape onto the floor. The control for the shower was very loose from the wall. However I didn't come to spend the three days in the room but to see Paris. The rooms are very small and its quite difficult to man oeuvre onto the loo if you are big or tall. But again we only slept there, so didn't focus on that. The beds are extremely comfortable with a memory foam topper. So only really condition of the rooms that pulls this down to an average, otherwise very good.
The service at reception was excellent. The gentlemen who checked us in was very helpful and friendly, and whenever we had a question there was always someone there to help us. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were both good. Our room was similar to most you will find in Paris hotels, and quite comfortable for our two night stay. The hotel was a short walk to the nearest metro station, and there were some cafes and shops in the nearby area.
Clean room and very friendly staff. Lovely serve yourself breakfast was a great start to each day too. The location of the Hotel is brilliant; having a coffee out by the canal with my first cigarette of the day was calming.
The room is small but that is expected in Paris. It is outside most of the touristy spots but very close to the metro and the front desk was great about helping us with our queries and most importantly they speak in English.Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room. There was free Wifi, so this is excellent. Would be nice if they would have given us a queen size bed rather than combining two single beds and make it into one.
The hotel is in a vibrant mixed district and is attractively located on the canal. It is well appointed with pleasant open areas, a good bar and an excellent eating area for meals looking out onto the canal. My room had a splendid view and a lovely comfortable bed. As with most Ibis the bathroom is rather small but had a very good shower. The room was clean and had everything needed for storage and sitting. The metro is nearby and one can be in the city centre in around 20 minutes. For those attending events at La Villette park it would be most convenient.
I really would not associate this hotel with the Accor chain. Horrible outdated rooms with no facilities, very hot and unbearable rooms, no soap, shampoo or cream in bathrooms - just all in one tube for everything. Staff not helpful.
