Nice hotel, Good locaties, limited parking space outside, at a fairly high price. Quiet rooms, good beds, but very small bathroom. I had a good stay in this Ibis, but it was only "OK" if I compare it to other Ibis hotels. Diner was OK.
In visiting for the first time Maseille, this hôtel was the best choice. Service at the Accueil was friendly and respectful. Services at Bar and Restaurant was nice and the prices very affordable. It is nice to be close to everything and especially to the Port. There, where everything happens.
I know that an Ibis hotel will usually be a quality one and am rarely disappointed. The city centre of Marseille is on different levels and this hotel, being on the top level, is quite quiet for a city centre location, and despite being just yards from the railway station, noise from outside was very low - this is also ideal as it is easy to find. The staff were friendly and the hotel clean and comfortable, although the lifts (elevators) are very small. I did not use the bar or have breakfast so cannot comment but the bar was quite busy during my visit.
The hotel is located beside Marseille main station. It was very convienient for not only train users but also airline passengers. Our stayed room was narrrw but good for just sleeping. The room charge was reasonable.
Great location right next to the train station/metro stop. Room was very clean and comfortable but bathroom was incredibly small. Visited just as the seasons were changing so the room heated up quickly and the cooling wasn't turned on yet in the hotel. Delicious breakfast buffet. Very friendly service.
Room was clean and the hotel was literally 5 minutes from the station! Good location, staff very helpful and friendly, great views of the city but ..... there were rats in the outside dining area!! Hence only three stars for cleanliness.Really put us off staying there again which is a pity.
It was nice, everyone was kind and helpful. My only problem was the the bathroom was almost always dirty, as were the pillowcases.I would go back because it is very well located, even though the area doesn't seem as safe as one would like.
I had a very quick stay in Marseille. This hotel is good, very conviniente for whom is traveling by train. Just accross the street from the train station. The rooms stay true to the ibis quality, clean and a decent size. They offer a good dinner and a good breakfast.
Arriving on a hot day (4th August) I had a small parcel with meat and cheese provisions with me. As you have no fridges in the rooms I asked the receptionist to keep my parcel in a fridge or coldroom until the next morning. I was told dryly "No - we have hygiene rules!" and she wanted to walk away without suggestions or excuses. When I insisted they called the manager, she was nice, I signed a form and from then on everything was fine, friendliness included. This has never yet happened to me...
This was a return trip, based on a previous enjoyable stay, and the ibis Marseille/Gare St. Charles did not disappoint. The hotel is large and busy, but the rooms are quiet, and almost all graced with nice views. Furnishings and services are standard ibis: beds are comfortable, water pressure and temperature are reliable, and good wifi available throughout. What is well above standard is the lovely shaded patio, particularly inviting at the beginning and end of the day (breakfast, drinks and snacks, dinner). There is a smaller outdoor area outside the bar as well. Staff are professional, efficient, and helpful with travel and tourist advice. The hotel is located an easy, level stroll from the Gare St Charles, and is an ideal "base" for travel to and from the station. Marseille itself is literally at your feet.
We had been on travels through Germany , Austria, Italy and France and this was the Smallest hotel room of our entire 3 week journey. The room was only big enough to sleep in and to get our cases in. We could only do packing activities one at a time as the room was that small. Initial reception was frosty when we arrived, thankfully when it came to checkout that we had a very helpful gentlemen on reception. The bathroom was also extremely small.
Enjoyed the stay. The location was perfectly situated near my friends party & convenient for the the train back to Paris. Would recommend it for anyone looking to make a short trip to Rennes and see parts of Brittany.
Ideal location for getting off Eurostar from London. Just remember to turn immediately left at station level and not go out the front or downstairs. Only 50m to hotel if get it right first time, much longer if you don't! Restaurant was good for breakfast and dinner. Staff very helpful.
We arrived at 10:00 am and a room is ready for us. The staff was very helpful in showing us where to go, which bus we should take and etc. Since we only stayed in Mstseille for one day, we appreciated all the tips we needed. We left very early in the morning and breakfast was ready at 4:00 am. Much appreciated.
As last year, excellent service from friendly, competent staff. Restaurant crew clearly understaffed in the evening, resulting in very slow service at times but still with a high level of professionalism and customer care. Having chosen this hotel for a six night stay because of its excellent access to all forms of public transport, the extra space in a superior room was well worthwhile.
The Ibis Marseille is true to the Ibis brand - it is modern, clean and tidy with comfortable rooms, it is well managed with friendly staff. It also has an excellent restaurant and is perfectly located for access to public transport.
nice friendly hotel.reception staff are very helpful and speak very good english. there are plenty of lifts to the bedrooms.the rooms are very clean and spacious. the beds are very comfortable. no safes in the room. large dining room with very good breakfasts
One of my top favourite Ibis hotels, checked in very quickly indeed which is exactly what I needed after a horribly late arrival on a delayed trains. Nice quiet room as well so window open and cool room.
A convenient, comfortable and economic place to stop for the night after leaving the car at the nearby AutoTrain depot before taking the IDTGV to Paris the next morning. Room not large but clean and comfortable. Only an in room tea/coffee facility missing compared with similar types of hotel. A simple but tasty meal was provided in the restaurant.
Clean but basic room. Shame air con ineffective so too hot for comfortable sleep. Room backed onto railway tracks so had to keep window closed for noise. No problems with noise when closed. Friendly efficient desk staff.
