Above average Ibis hotel in a good location. Parking was very secure with plenty of space . The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms very adequate. As with all Ibis hotels, there were no frills but the beds were comfortable and the breakfast good.
This was an overnight stop between home in the Czech Republic and central France. The hotel was easy to find and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre and shops. The hotel has a nice old character but is very up to date and clean inside. Friendly staff always smiling. A nice breakfast in the morning considering the French hotel breakfasts are pretty meagre. A pleasant experience after a long drive.
The hotel itself is cozy and clean. The breakfast is DELICIOUS. The staff is out of this world - they are so friendly and kind. Would, without a doubt, return because of the staff's willingness to go above and beyond!
I stayed at this hotel over a quick night for business. The staff was friendly and the room as expected for this price level in France....although it could have been a little cleaner. Great location and the breakfast was really good.
As usual, Ibis provide good basic hotel with no frills but no problems either. A reliable brand that I use a lot. Free WiFi a bonus, plus a secure car park for a few Euros a night. Helpful lady on reception, trolleys available for luggage. Easy walk to restaurants etc.
Exceptionally clean. Accommodation spacious. Staff extremely helpful. Excellent on-site secure parking. You get what you pay for, but this hotel exceeded expectations. Wouls certainly stay here again at expense of more pricier alternatives.
The location is very close to the center of town where you can get everything at only a short walking distance. A peaceful place to sleep as it is not located in a busy area. Large parking space, expect that the entrance is very narrow; cannot fit large car into the parking space that is located behind the hotel. The staff were very helpful.
Location in the center of the old town. Reception staff recommended an excellent and well-priced restaurant for lunch--excellent wine and coffee and a good meal about 500 meters away. The Citadel designed by Vauban, is exceptional and merits its UNESCO World Heritage status. I was skeptical about the zoo, which is located in the moat of the Citadel, but it was fantastic. The multimedia show, etc. made a visit there, all attractions inluded, well worth the price. Only problem is we did not have enough time to see everything.
Rooms have all you require but are basic square boxes, white and orange walls with no pictures or anything. I would put them below Premier Inn in the UK. Bed and shower were good, free Wi-Fi appreciated. The combined reception / bar / breakfast area can get a bit crowded at breakfast time. However location is excellent for the city centre and access to restaurants etc.
I would stay in this hotel and other Ibis' when touring, but I would bring my own shampoo, other toiletries, wash cloth, and towel. Otherwise it's everything you want: quiet, reasonably comfortable bed, handheld shower, air con, reading lights, parking right behind, walking distance to mail square with bus to Citadel.
Stayed in Besancon enroute to Provence from London. It was a great litte town and a really nice IBIS hotel. The breakfast was great and the room really comfortable and good value for money. There was some noise during the night from people leaving nearby bars but not te hotels fault.
The hotel is a 15 min downhill walk from the train station on the outter part of center city. A supermarket is 1-2 blocks away as are restaurants and some major attractions. The hotel is small. Staff were extremely friendly. The room was a traditional Ibis experience and was quiet. Great value.
Typical ibis in central Besancon Nothing fancy and parking is scarce (though alternative parking for €1 was just five minutes walk away) but you get a decent comfy sleep for a good price Breakfast is typical French buffet with croissants etc
