Again, we had a wonderful stay at the IBIS at Pornichet - I've lost count of how many times we have been there and it will not be the last. The staff were excellent and attentive as usual. The only suggestion I would make is to ensure that the water container for the boiled eggs for breakfast was kept at a boiling state.
Stayed here for three nights, English spoken, nice clean modern rooms, bar area superb as was the restaurant, not far from Pornichet centre, underground parking which is good. Beds made up every day & towels changed. Will certainly use again.
we had booked to stay for two nights and were looking forward to the trip after a successful stay at Ibis Honfleur. Unfortunately our hopes were misplaced. We arrived early in the evening to be told that the car park was full and we could go and look for somewhere to park in the surrounding streets but the world and his mother had descended and I ended up parking some distance away - much closer to other hotels in fact. We, along with other English people, were placed in the rooms without balconies - I don't recall any French voices in the corridor - but we paid the same price for our rooms as for those with a balcony - how odd? The service in the restaurant on the first night was appalling with the waiter trying to convince me that the short measure that he had served me was correct and various items that were ordered didn't materialise during the meal. The hotel gave us a 20% discount on the meal, which hadn't been expensive, but the whole thing left a bad taste in the mouth. And niggling things, like the telephone was broken before we arrived. After leaving the Ibis we spent another night further south which was much better value and much higher quality - disappointed.
The hotel's reception area, bar and restaurant appear to have been updated and are modern. Our balcony (small) room was good although the view was uninspiring. The bed was to Ibis standard being v comfy.
I fell down in the bedroom shower because of the floor was slippery, and the personnel did everything to help having a medical appointment rapidly, as I felt shoulder pain . That was perfect arrangement..
A charming getaway hotel that allowed you to enjoy the La Baule beach and relax at the delightful spa. And the ability to take in the charm or Pornichet and La Baule seaside shops and restaurants!!!!!
A hotel that has much to offer but the rooms let it down, on an average July night the rooms became overbearingly hot to sleep and when you opened the balcony windows the noise from the clubbers coming home in the early hours prevented meaningful sleep too. This hotel needs to install air-conditioning as a matter of priority.
Great location 50m from the main beach, walking distance to train and shops, simple rooms but good bed, very friendly and dedicated staff, good food, good rates available online, very good deal overall
Room was typical IBIS and was fine but getting a drink at the bar proved to be difficult, we asked the service manager if the bar was open as it was not attended (this was at 1830 hours), he said yes what do you want? Told him what drinks we wanted he then resumed his conversation with another member of staff and we had to wait quite sometime for him to eventually finish his chat before he was able to serve us with a drink. The restaurant was perplexing in that we were the first to enter after it opened, we asked where we should be seated and were told "anywhere you like" we selected a table and sat down and were then told by another waitress that the table we had selected was "reserved" - it was not marked as such and we were the only guests in the restaurant! After some debate we were eventually permitted to stay at the selected table - it was more like a scene from "fawlty towers" and was not a relaxed dining experience. Food was good.
We enjoyed our one week stay. Almost everything about the hotel was either good or very good. Good, helpful reception staff, clean bedroom, service in restaurant, and excellent food served an buffet breakfast and at evening meal. Although the hotel is virtually on the beautiful La Baule beach, no bedroom has a sea view, which was a disappointment.
Great location! Easy to find. Beach, restaurants, bars right next door yet no noise at night! The staff were friendly, room great as always at IBIS just far too hot overnight, very difficult to sleep. Not as bad second night after had left window wide open for entire day. Difficult to find on street parking drove round for ages as so close to beach, they have car park but costs 12 euro per night which seemed expensive. Can use pool but the website doesn't make it obvious that there is a charge 8.50 Euro so not insignificant - we never bothered. Bar also pricey but as it was so close to local bars this didn't matter.
Well located hotel, close to the beach and not too far from La Baule golf courses. Early breakfast availability was a big plus for me. Staff were very efficient and pleasant. All in all a very pleasant stay.
Had little trouble finding the hotel which is in an excellent situation at the central point of the 2 beaches at Pornichet. The room was large, en suite (with a large shower) with flat screen tv. The restaurant was excellent - good a la carte menu which was competitively priced which came with excellent service. Parking was on the street for us as our vehicle exceeded the height limit of the underground parking. We were both highly satisfied with our visit and would have no hesitation in returning for more than our 'flying visit' on this occasion
As a member of the service industry for over 36 years, I greatly appreciated the above and beyond that was offered from the staff at this hotel especially "Sylvie" at the front desk......A great employee......Thank you
The hotel was comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was good. Sadly, for British tourists, the Euro exchange rate makes the Ibis almost as expensive as hotels in the centre of London! It is therefore difficult to say the it represents value for money.
