Staff were cheerful, polite and helpful. Our room was spotless, bed comfortable and it was very quiet. Location perfect near the train station and walking distance to the town. Will definitely go back again.
The cost of breakfast was too expensive, 11euros per person, parking was 10euros per night and difficult to find any spaces. No free wi-fi in the rooms and the connection in the lobby was very poor and slow, also the temperature in the bedroom was too hot with no means of lowering apart from opening a window which was not sensible as the outside temperature was below freezing most nights.
A decent hotel, at a reasonable price. Online check-in was quick and easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. More than suitable for a short stay in Augsburg, so much so that I'm staying again in November.
Nice hotel in quiet area of Augsburg. We got three bed room in the top floor with really good price so this good basic hotel felt like a luxury. City of Augsburg was also worth of visiting. Only short ride to Legoland Gunsburg with train.
I've booked a DBL room in this hotel via a LeClub Accor special offer: 2 nights and free breakfast+wi-fi+1 extra person (kid) free. Location is excellent for exploring the centre - just a 5 minutes walk to the Old City. Covered garage costs 10 EUR per day but you can leave your car just opposite the hotel for free. Breakfast features a variety of food and drinks. The staff was very efficient and polite. And you can get to Legoland within just half an hour drive from the Hotel!
In fact I've been staying in this hotel several times because of kind front desk attendants to take care of everything in your stay. The bar is also great! A big cup of peanuts keep the good taste German beer better flavor. Just wonderful! The location is also very good. Go out and make a right to the popular TRAM station where you can find restaurants, food, supermarket just in a 3-5 minutes walking distance. Go through the TRAM station is the downtown center to enjoy the landscape of old historic buildings and see how the modern teenages playing in this old-fashioned city. If you make a left at the TRAM station and go straight, you'll find Augsburg main station in 5 minutes by walking. The breakfast is very good. A lot of vegetables, cheeses and breads for selections. I like their German cucumber, taste sweet and fruitful. Coffee is good. You can get it from a coffee maker with instant grinded coffee beans. I love this hotel. Only the sleeping quality is a little bit to be improved. Some noises on my room from upper floor.
The hotel was in mantainance and we we were not informed about that before. The air condionated was not working and nothing was informed before, only when we asked for it. There was no carpet in the shower. The smell of glue was all over the place. Disgusting.
Placed in a great location, Ibis Koenigsplatz is a great value for the money. Rooms are clean, well maintained. Staff is very nice and accommodating. There is inexpensive parking in the underground garage. The main transportation hub for public transport is a few minutes away and the train station is 10 minutes walking distance. And they can make some mean coffee...
When I questioned about air con I was told they had none. When I asked what happens in winter, I was told they had heat. I asked 'Why has the control had setting for 5 and 10 degrees, surely this was not for winter only.' I then said 'In other words you have air con and it is not switched on'. The receptionist just nodded.
The staff was very service minded. The room however had carpeted floor which was filthy due to old spillage spots and ought to be replaced. The breakfast next morning was good and fresh with plenty selection.
Fantastic city to visit and the Ibis Augsburg Koenigsplatz is a fab place to stay. Great room and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the "all you can eat" breakfast A must. This is our third time here and will look forward to staying again.
I have stayed in this hotel in the past and have been satisfied with the service I have received. However I was disappointed this time. Although I understand that check-in isn't until 15:00 at this hotel, reception staff at other Accor establishments have always been accommodating and checked to see if a room was ready whenever I have arrived a little early. The male receptionist at this hotel simply looked at me with a blank face when I arrived at 13:30 and said it's not 3.00! He didn't even bother checking. His welcome and manner were not friendly and not what we have come to expect from Accor staff. When we asked it we could leave our luggage at the hotel until 3, it was almost as if it was a big inconvenience for him to move from behind the counter to lock our case in the luggage room. The receptionist is the first impression that one has of an establishment. Needless to say, the male receptionist did not make a good impression and did not make us feel welcome. When we returned at 3, we were served by a female receptionist who was very friendly and met our expectations. On the day of departure, understanding that checkout was at 12, we went into town. Upon our return, we found that our key cards had been deactivated and had to go through the hassle of getting these reactivated before we could get back into our room. Admittedly, we hadn't put the do not disturb sign on the door, but on more than one occasion, the maid knocked and walked straight in before we had chance to signal that we were in the room. The decor in the hotel is now looking tired and is in need of a refurb. It is however clean. Breakfast buffet was good. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again as it is not as friendly as other Accor hotels, and I use Accor hotels a lot so have many to compare it to.
Probably about the worst ibis/accor hotel i have ever stayed in staff were ok on the whole but lacked the sparkle of staff in other hotel in this chain perhaps because of the dated shabby nature of the Hotel, one of my party decided he would stay in for the night due to a hectic few days travelling he dined in the bar/dining area and reported that despite the lack of atmospere his meal was good, however all three bedrooms apart from the beds and linen were poor with mine having a filthy carpet and very small shower room, breakfast was not taken as we had a very early start, our room was quiet though 3rd floor to the rear
This hotel is within 10 minutes walk of Augsburg Hauptbahnhof; you have to pay for overnight parking but at least there is some. Rooms what you would expect, menu a trifle limited but good value. Not as spacious as some ibis hotels, but ok.
Nice hotel , the location is Very good , friendly helpfull staff , beautiful city , it would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room , i needied aircondetion the room was very spacous , I was satisfide
A little worn but reasonably priced hotel close to the center. Fast and good service, clean rooms and good beds. Breakfast is reasonably good. Parking garage with access to the hotel. Worth the money.
Easy access, reasonable parking. Not far from train and public transportation. Close to Christmas Market and old town. Clean & quiet. Staff spoke english. Shopping and cafes within a few blocks. Be sure to get the right one, there is another Ibis just down the street.
The service was very helpful, it is a good stay if you do your business trips, I liked we were only five minutes away from the Station by foot, Clean Rooms, good breakfast, good to have a parking possibility
The Ibis Augsberg Koenigsplatz was exactly as advertised. Clean, convenient and easy to get to. This is not a "luxury" hotel stay, but the staff were friendly and helpful, the parking was easy to negotiate, breakfast was cheerful and the room was perfect for purpose (I was in town over night for an event and some sightseeing/shopping).
Ibis in Augsburg is a fine hotel. It is clean and conveniently situated near the centre bu also fairly close to the station. But nit is not on Koenigsplatz as the name might suggest. It is near a beautiful Friedhof with a old chapel in Hermanstrasse some walking distance from Koenigsplatz.. The name is therefore not strictly correct. The hotel is very clean and the staff helpful. However the internet access is not up to standard. One pc in the lobby is hardly enough in these days of free WiFi. In all other respects this is a fine hotel. One recommendation: Provide the smokers with an alternative place to smoke than at the front entrance. The smoke screen and several smokers at the entrance does'nt provide a good welcome for non-smokers.
