Very good hotel. Pleasant, professional, helpful staff. Great location. Easy access to local transportation and convenient to Frankfurt Int'l Airport. Numerous local dining options, including a great local brewpub.
Staff are wonderful. Rooms are clean, basic. Would be nice if morning coffee was free or discounted rate. Great location, short walk to markets and old town, train station. Used this hotel the last four years.
Big room but small bathroom. The bathroom should be renewed as it was old. The heating system was loud and the tv control was not working. We asked for hot water to warm the food baby but the water was not warm...
My stay at Ibis Mainz was ok. Nothing special. Nothing bad. Everything seems to be predictable, service at the average level, a little bit poor choice of food. The only issue was a quality of room service (cleaning). No special privileges for platinum members, but it is often practiced at Ibises. To be clear - I recommend this place. Great location, kind staff, acceptable prices. If you know, what ibis means - don’t hesitate to visit Ibis Mainz.
Stayed here last weekend ,as always I enjoyed my stay in mainz. I always get a comfortable quiet room but this time my room was located next to housekeeping storage area. Every morning from 7am and on through the morning the cleaning staff made it impossible to sleep in dreadfull.
I stay here frequently and always have excellent service. Good room with good shower, good location and the breakfast is substantial. The staff are always pleasant and helpful with any requests and the value is very good.
This ibis lived up to the usual high standard of the ibis hotels; they are the go-to brand of my husband and me when we travel in Europe. It was in a very good location, a few minutes from the River Rhine and the Old Town with the Cathedral, Gutenberg Museum and other sights. We were given a friendly welcome, and the rooms were spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. Every day of our 5-night stay the rooms were cleaned promptly in the morning, which was super-convenient and not something we take for granted in hotels. The usual supremely comfortable ibis beds - bliss - and the rooms were quiet, so we always enjoyed a good night's sleep. We love the no-fuss convenience of the ibis hotels, and this one was thoroughly enjoyable. An easy 5 stars.
The heater was not working and it was freezing overnight. I requested for the repair at the front desk on my way out on the next morning. But there was no record of repair request and the no working condition was still the same. So I had to get the electric heater. The beddings were stinking. The toilets were stinking.
The hotel is located near the old town by 10-15 mins walking distance but need to take S bahn for 1 stop if you arrive at Mainz Hbf. The room is large and clean, especially compare it to tier 1 German cities. The staff was also helpful as I stayed in the City on 25 Dec., which I didn't expect any restaurant would open on that day. However, the staff checked the available option for me and gave some constructive advices. Moreover, the breakfast was also good.
We enjoyed our two night stay at the Mainz ibis. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was fab. One block from the river and a short stroll of about 10 minutes through the old town to get to the Centre. The breakfast had something for everyone. The only drawback was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
I'm suggesting that the language barrier in the office, was the reason that my requests were the OPPISITE of my reservation requests: higher floor - got the lowest: NOT near the elevator - got the nearest and right next to maids room which was very noisy - I must add I did not get the noisy street side. Water pressure in shower was not strong and interchanged from cool to hot while in use so almost scalded myself.
Great location within walking distance of city. Unfortunately, only one coffee machine for the whole breakfast room and 20 people queuing for coffee on Saturday morning - so we were unable to get a coffee!!!!!
Could be better for the price. The room is not so big. However, the hotel is well located at the city. Its easy to take the train in a station next the hotel. The street is clean and you can go to the turistic points walking.
The rooms were clean and had everything we need but the staff were cold and not interested in welcoming their guests. There was one gentleman that helped us on the first night that was good but the rest were just doing their jobs. It was a decent location close to downtown but other than that it did not stand out at all.
I am staying at this hotel pretty often when i am traveling to mainz for business. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. This helps the travel to be efficient and convenient. The location of the hotel is perfect: 2 minutes to a train station and it is in a center of the city near by many good restaurants.
Comfy beds, normal size pillows (don't laugh, try sleeping on square pillows like in other hotels in Mainz) breakfast has good selection, and aircon for those hot days. Also great location for the old town, and for arrivals from Frankfurt airport with the train.
Good Ibis hotel with decent room and showers. Well maintained and very reasonable prices. Air con in most rooms. Best to take one at the back although it is double glazed. There is a nice terrace at the back for when it is hot.
Good hotel spoilt by excessive car parking charges. I was charged Euros 27 (one charge of Euros 9 and a further one of Euros 18) for one car in the garage overnight! Totally excessive! Also, no good restaurant nearby.
The room was nice, bed comfortable and it was very central. Would have given it 5 stars if the staff would have explained how to leave the car park. Which took me a while to work out and I had to go back to reception to ask them, which then only prompted them to give me a coin that would open the gate. Similarly, with the door key that need to be inserted in a wall mount in order to make the electricity in the room work, no explanation for that either.
Having lived here for over 10 years, and travelling back and forth for work, you know what you need in location and amenities. As such this hotel scores full points. It does have aircon that works perfectly (it was 38 degrees in the shade outside), the breakfast has all you would expect from a continental breakfast, and a coffee machine which does a good selection of coffee types (mocha, cappuccino, cafe au lait...). The room is spacious enough and shower facilities in the bathroom great (nice power and good temperature controls). The bed in my room was too soft for my liking, but after mentioning it to the man at reception, I came back later in the evening and found they had changed the bed for one much firmer and I slept perfectly on it. Location perfect for train from Frankfurt airport (Mainz - Roemisches Theater), and 5 mins walk to the old town's shops, cafe's restaurants (10 mins to the cathedral).
