The hotel provides a quiet retreat with good service. The room was small but clean and functional. The bed was very comfortable. It was an excellent value for money, except that the in-house WI FI had very low internet speeds. Download of around 1Mbs, upload about half that. The manager was very understanding, and he blamed it on the local service provider.
Reasonable stay, but very upset to find that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. No mention was made of this in the hotel guide or at the time of booking. Soundproofing not very efficient, and as often is the case with Ibis the heating/air conditioning was not working. John Padstow UK
The resturant was a disapointment to us. The tomatoes on the starter were not ripe. I then had the chicked with green beans. The chicken had no flavour and the beans were terrible, limp and soggy. My husband had the steak and chips which was OK. Puddings were also OK. At breakfast there were no staff and the coffee machine was not work. Had to compain to the main desk before someone came to sort it out. All it needed was empting.
Beautiful location with outside terrace next to river. That was a real plus. Clean, friendly, helpful. Only stayed one night. This was a Sunday and a bit disappointed that restaurant not open. Reduced menu available but not enticing. A shame as only other venues open on a Sunday were Buffalo Grill and Potato Place!!
Typical Ibis hotel with comfortable rooms and what could be an excellent restaurant if they get the service sorted out eg bringing a dessert we hadn't ordered before we ordered dessert, not making sure breakfast fare was kept topped up - no ham, 10 minute wait for bread, etc.
This hotel is in a pleasant setting on the outskirts of Chateau-Thierry, easily accessed from the ring road. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant provides good evening meals and breakfasts.
Often use Ibis for their high standard of rooms and service, with an adequate level of facilities. This was a real disappointment - located on a ring-road in a commercial centre; ignored by receptionist for 15 minutes who then claimed not to have our central booked reservation (whilst turning away another family with a written proof of booking); 30 minutes to place a order in the restaurant; most menu options were not available; room noisy and hot - with loud voices from Reception at 3 in morning; and cars doing burn-outs in car park. I will never stay there again.
