We arrived late 11pn and were given single beds in a disabled room with a shower that didn’t rise above 4ft. When we asked to change we were told there was no other room plus there was a £9 parking charge from 11.30 till 6am
Highly recommend Ibis Luton, have stayed previously and hope to stay again. Great for overnight stay if flying out of Luton. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good price for nice room and comfortable bed. Quiet too.
Very hard bed, nothing like Ibis beds normally. Shower curtain was stuck to the bath by mould. Disgusting. Air in the room reeked of chip fat. Really gross. I've stayed in much better hostels when I was a student backpacking.
Hotel clean but maintenance in room not good 2 lights not working and one had no switch on at all which was very poor and could have been dangerous had a child stayed in the room.Staff very friendly and service in restaurant very good
Pros: - 12 min on foot from Luton airport - a moderate-size room - a comfy bed - soundproof - window opens - online check-in - no real check-out - just leave the key or drop it in the box - good price (we booked in advance) Cons: - none Will be back.
Another restful night at the Ibis with a good breakfast, which really sets you up for all the trials and tribulations that air travel can throw at you. Our room was at the front on the third floor and we had a great view of the planes landing but could only hear them if we really concentrated. We were quite close to the lift but heard nothing until our early morning call. The breakfast is a good mixture of English style and continental, I was particularly taken to see the egg boiler and timer, you've only yourself to blame if your boiled egg is not to your satisfaction, the Ibis has done it's best. The location meant that we had a 5 minute drive to the car park, rather than a 2 hour drive from home, providing there is no accidents or road works. Well worth the forethought of booking a room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful- food was good. The issue was the cleanliness of the restaurant and the rooms had a funny smell. Just needs a little more attention to detail. Also- there needs to be a covered walkway from the airport- pushing trolley/suitcases in the rain up and down the slopes was not pleasant to get there walking. Its nt easy to walk there.
We used to visit this hotel at least once a year since it was built. Even though we booked a room for four nights, we got a room in the old part of the Hotel. Which should also be renovated. The ventilation of this room (1st floor) is that bad, that we both caught a bad cold already the first night of our stay. The AC was completely switched off the 2nd night, but still blowing air to the headboard of the bed. The ventilation louver is located closed by. Unfortunately the room key had to be reprogrammed every day. The breakfast is poor compared to other IBIS Hotels. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Excellent location, staff friendly and helpful Breakfast was the usual choice in every Ibis, but was nice n hot and plentiful Downsides. I detest paying to park at a hotel, it’s a way of upping the room rate and my room was not serviced for my second night
Very comfortable and clean hotel. Staff very helpful and keen to assist with any query. Restaurant was very good also breakfast was filling and a good start to the day. Location to airport within walking distance or free bus to airport just outside of hotel.
Everything you need for a stay before or after your flight, the menu in the restaurant catered for all tastes.Room was clean, with tea,and coffee facilities comfortable bed,an iron, hairdryer .You can adjust the heating in your room to your personal comfort. No problems whatsoever.
We were only there for a few hours the night before our early morning flight .The staff made us feel welcome .Didnt have any food as we left hotel at 04.30am that morning .If we stay at Luton we always stay in this hotel.
Overall, a good location. The WIFI in room 179 was impossible, I had to go into the corridor and walk about 25m to get a connection. Getting from the hotel to the airport via bus was very difficult. After waiting 20 minutes two buses passed me full. After deliberating a return to the hotel or waing I chose to walk to the airport dragging 2 heavy cases, not a great distance but on an incline and not recommended for a female pensioner in her 70s. if I had realised this would happen I would have ordered a taxi.
Everything would be fine, but please have a red wine in the buffet next time :) Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Surprisingly quiet night, even the hotel is near the airport. Only one thing I would like next time - red wine in the buffet.
Comfortable bed gave me a good sleeping. With kettle in the room I could enjoy my tee or coffee in the room, without even going downstairs to the bar. Quiet and properly darkened room made my sleeping calm and long.
We were very happy with our stay. A warm welcome, comfortable room and a good nights sleep, especially appreciated as given the proximity to the airport we weren't disturbed by planes. This said the hotel is close enough to walk to the airport, luckily as the snow was so bad it was quicker to walk! The only small quibble we had was that the restaurant seemed rather bady organised, or at best short staffed. It wasn't exactly clear how it worked, but we still had a decent meal for a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time. I would certainly stay here again should we have another early flight. Very good quality/price ratio!
Hotel was very comfortable and well presented. Really like the online-check-in idea. Continental breakfast was good. Location is great for early flights out as only a quick walk to the airport so no booking or cost of taxis.
My colleague and I check into the hotel on a business trip to Romania. The large bar area was quite noisy with children running around, obviously excited about their trip. It did get a little wearing as we wanted to discuss our project, and the children were a distraction, some parental supervision would have been welcomed
Very close to airport, careful you don't park in the Hol Inn car park next door, easily done and you will be charged a lot (in fairness they sorted the problem the next day to their credit !). As I wasn't impressed with the curry at IBIS, went next door to Hol Inn (30 sec walk) for a great meal. Minor annoyance and I would stay at IBIS again as the service was outstanding from entering the place and bed was a comfy nights sleep.
Adequate facility, clean, comfy and good value. Would recommend for a one night short stay. Bar and food ok easy walk to airport. Easy check in and departure. Helpful staff and easy to find. Would use again when departing early from Luton
