We often stay at this Ibis travelling to and from Italy. Like all Ibis it's excellent value. Out of Colmar city which suits us, beautiful tho the city may be. My only current complaint is that BBC World seems to have dropped of the list of available TV stations.
Excellent disability facility and general refurbishment make this a very good out of town hotel, convenient to Colmar. We have stayed in past years, always found service and menu more than satisfactory.
The rooms are clen and are new renovated. The breakfast were poor. The cups of coffee were finished and when I ask the lady from there to bring few more she said very easy that are over !! Also two builders were working on the reception and the lobby ( were we are eating ) was with dust.
First time no welcome drink. Not one word useful info.In the Alsace choucroute is a must for dinner. It was served in a rectangular shape dish, about 15 cm deep. The choucroute deep in this dish at the bottom." potatoes, and all the meat on the top.Impossible to cut. Horrible wrestling to eat as it was served.
We have used this hotel over a number of years and have found it to be most convenient. Our stay in Later July was fine however o0n our return last week thew room we were offered absolutely stank of old cigarette smoke. All rooms are non smoking and I thought all Accor hotels had a policy of charging guests who ignore the rule. If not they should do. It was awful. Our room was changed amidst many apologies to a twin as all doubles had gone., which was fine. I felt sorry for the receptionist who was having to deal with an issue that should have been sorted earlier in the day. We will stay there next year but the issue of the very few rule breaking smokers needs to be tackled.
Although we arrived late in the evening we could not have wished for a pleasanter welcome, thank you. A very quiet location and smashing staff made for a great stay. Lots of local information pamphlets at the reception was helpful.
Arriving at 00h30 on the busy first weekend of August, we received a friendly welcome. Descending to room 102 on level -1, we were struck by the damp atmosphere and accompanying smell, probably from the unventilated bathroom. The modern shower fitting is over an elderly hip bath on two levels, boasting some smashed angle tiles. Steam condenses on the bedroom window, which is cobweb-clad on the outside and in deep shade. Throughout the night, an electric motor in the adjacent plant room ran in regular, 30-second bursts. When I mentioned these drawbacks at reception, I was granted a 5-euro rebate on the 95-euro price of room 102. I would avoid staying here again at this peak time.
I needed a hotel to stay overnight on my way back home to Switzerland. This hotel is very clean, the night was very quiet, excellent bed to sleep in. Dinner was enjoyable: nothing fancy, but very tasty. Hotel staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. This hotel is now on my list of "no-fuss-places" to stay...
I think your financial routines are bad. When I check out from the hotel I pay by credit card. Then you block almost the same amount from another credit card. That means that we have to reserve the double amount to be able to stay at your hotel. Bad service regading the payment. We are frequent guests at this hotel as we think everything else works fine here.
We had a very good time in Colmar. The city was very-wll decorated and brigthing because of Christmas celebration. The hotel is a little bit far from the center of the city (+- 6 km)., but it was no problem for me since I had a car. On the other hand, the parking in the hotel was free. We enjoyed a lot our vacation!
Only a stopover however wish to return for a longer stay. The hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful and we would like to return to investigate the area further. Our only complaint was that the two meals which we ordered as specials for the day we unfortunately unavailable, I guess the earlier guests had eaten them!
A really nice small Ibis hotel with a good restaurant. Staff are always friendly. Decoration in rooms getting a little tired but still ok. Stay often enough in Accor hotels but have never accumulated any points?
We stayed here as an over night stop from italy to uk and would stay again. It has a bar and restaurant which is great. the staff were friendly and welcoming. only complaint if i have to be very picky is the bathroom could do with a upgrade as it was tired. the town itself is a short drive with lots of parking and is stunningly beautiful. so well worth a visit.
Second time I have used this hotel and found it as before adequate for an overnight stay. Reception a bit slow, had to wait for staff to appear. Given a room on the second floor, which was facing away from the road, almost guaranteeing a quiet night. Room functional, clean and bed as I like it to be. We dined in the restaurant, meal was satisfactory, service pleasent, but in the bar, I thought the prices high for a glass of 1664. Breakfast was from adequate to good. The whole experience positive and I would use the hotel again.
Overall, a good hotel, with a very nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The hotel itself, however does need updating, as it has a very 90's feel to it. The rooms are very warm, even with the window open all night.
Stayed here many times. It is a good stop off on a journey to and from Italy. The staff are excellent, however, the decor is getting tired. A lick of paint in the rooms would freshen it up, but the shower over the bath is not best suited for older or less able clients. Outdated! Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast as always was really good. Dinner was average. Drinks .... a single G+T at €9.70 is a bit greedy! This is not the Ritz! Time to look for an alternative until they smarten up!
Horbourg Whir has been on overnight stop since about 1999 and have stayed on about 14 times - sometimes for two nights. This must give some idea of our degree of satisfaction. We would prefer a shower unit and not a bath with a shower. We were disappointed to find that the breakfast buffet lacked any cold cooked meats. The evening meals were good.
We invariably choose Ibis hotels for overnight stops in France, particularly those away from town centres, main roads and industrial estates. This Ibis is looking rather tired, particularly in its bathroom equipment - chipped bath, rust on chrome towel rail - and the overall carpeting a is in need of renewal. The rooms are small but adequate, but I have to say the beds are so comfortable, with modern bedding and very good pillows. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening, thought it rather pricey for what is a fairly average hotel, but the breakfast selection was one of the best we have come across in Ibis hotels of this standard. Although on a fairly busy road the traffic noise at night was hardly noticeable. There really should be instructions in the room on controlling the air conditioning.
not so far from the center of colmar, 3km , price/quality ratio good for a room with bath , sanitary and smart television in the room, we have also tried the restaurant inside of the hotel and it was good and quite cheap in regards of prices in the center of colmar
I use Ibis often since you know what to expect and at Colmar the staff managed to exceed the expectations. The hotel, food and internet were good. The hotel is nicely located and accesible from the major roads.
