Good 3 nights at the hotel which I have stayed on numerous occasions, well located for travelling around the region .Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Enjoyed the specials on the dinner menu , can recommend the asparagus dishes!
Nice welcome, staff very pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast with nice products and large choice. Clean and spacious room. Would return for a short stay in the city. Free parking. Good value for the price.
We stay in this hotel every year on our way to our ski vacation. They have improved the beds this last year with a foam topper which is very comfortable. Rooms are quiet, parking easy, breakfast is 'continental' but fine. Its 2 minute's drive from the autoroute and a short bus ride to the charming town of Sion
I compliment the staff in IBIS Sion Est. for their friendliness and high standard of service . The room was comfortable and spotless. The food in the in the restaurant was excellent. Location very good
Ibis Sion was one of 3 Ibis hotels that we stayed in on our recent tour of Switzerland and rates it as the best of them. We had stayed there for a week several years ago and were more than happy to return. The food was excellent - both buffet breakfast and dinners. Also full marks for the staff.
Had a recent one night stay, whilst passing through the area. Room fine - clean and everything in good working order. Slightly warm in the room, although with a main road outside, I couldn't keep the window open overnight to keep things cool. Staff friendly and welcoming, both at reception and in the restaurant. I did eat at the hotel, and the food was good too. The hotel is a short distance away from Sion centre, but there are buses available from the station that will cover part of the journey to the hotel.
I spent more than a week in the Ibis Sion with my wife and our two daughters of 17 and 12. Rather than booking an hotel in a resort in Valais, we decided to book the Ibis which is at the center of a region going from Saint Maurice/Martigny to, say, Zermatt. The hotel is 500 meters from the East Sion motorway exit and 100 meters from a new Migros supermarket (quite helpful with the children). We (re)visited the new Spa of Ovronnaz, Veysonnaz and its bisse going to Planchouet, Thyon 2000, Evolene, Montreux on Lake Geneva, the Swiss Steam Trains in Le Bouveret, Saas-Fee and Zermatt. We saved a lot of time, petrol and money compared to any booking in any resort. The hotel itself represents the best of what this Accor brand offers in the sense that you need to think really hard about what could be improved by remaining within the price range of Ibis. You receive with Ibis 100% of what is promised, nothing more but also nothing less. In the case of Sion however, what you get is I think the very best that Ibis can deliver: spot clean room, kind staff from management to the receptionist, waiters, maids. Each staff without exception delivers a first class service with typically Swiss qualities: discretion and efficiency, politeness without familiarity. The restaurant is a plus with Swiss traditional meals next to more standard international cuisine. The terrassa of the restaurant with swings, etc. for kids is of course pleasant in the evening as is the large parking, perfectly secure. The only recommendation I can make is to ask a room on the quiet (parking) side of the building as there can be quite a bit of traffic on the other sides. A last point, if necessary, the general hospital of the canton is at 300 meters from the hotel. I will certainly go back to the Ibis Sion. Booking well ahead allows benefiting from better room rates, which is welcome in view of the Swiss franc current strenght
Just stopped by to sleep in my usual room :) Reception very friendly. Sorry for them to have to wear this ugly new uniform. Very well accessible for wheelchair drivers, functional and spacious bathroom. Room small and well soundproofed. Good mattress. All the essentials and some +.
The Ibis Sion is close to the Sion Hospital and health related centres. The main shopping precinct is across the river about 5 min drive away, though an Aldi and other specialist shops are a within walking distance, down the street - turn left and up the road sort off ... probably a 15 minute walk. The front desk service and cleanliness of my particular room was very good. There's free outdoor parking and an outdoor area to sit down for your morning coffee. The staff are very helpful and take care of you as soon as you arrive. The free WiFi was also very handy. The in-house restaurant is also very convenient and not too expensive for those who want to eat in, there is also a very good laundry service (24hr turnaround) which I used. The usual features - bed side lights, strong hot water, quiet sleeping, a comfy big bed, a big multi channel TV were all working or of high quality. I used the Sion as a ski base and for this purpose it is very well situated for access to all the ski fields via Veysonnaz. I would definitely stay at the Ibis Sion East again and recommend it to fellow skiers. My favourites were the free parking, WiFi that worked, comfy quiet sleeping and attentive , personable staff.
