From the outside the hotel looks like a Bavarian or Austrian style hotel once inside the room corridors are terrible. They are "cold" without an welcoming ideas. The resturant is not very good and be very careful if you do not get a room on the ground floor there are lots of stairs - NO LIFT so if like me your a bit older its difficult. Just one more thought staff not very helpfull !
We arrived very late to a friendly welcome from the Hotel's night porter who happily served us a nighttime snack - only drawback we were too late for a glass of wine as not licenced at that hour! Very good nights sleep had by all the family, and a truly excellent breakfast buffet - plenty of healthy options, fresh fruit and juice etc - even the option to help yourself to fruit for later in the day as you left the restaurant. Will definitely stopover there again.
Hotel in lovely setting, plenty of parking. The room was a little smaller than most Ibis we have used, but adequate. We were particularly impressed by the evening meal from the a la carte menu. Very good selection available, very well served and particularly tasty.
A convenient location across the river from the town centre, and convenient for sightseeing and restaurants. Quiet room, clean and well-furnished. We considered the cost of a buffet breakfast too high. Good free WiFi service. Good for an overnight stop, or for a longer stay.
This was a stop over for us en route to the south of France. Having driven for 10 hours, it was supposed to be a welcome recharge and we had reserved two adjoining double rooms. The receptionist was very courteous and we were checked in fine but then discovered that one of the rooms hadn't been cleaned and the key didn't work on the second. We were advised that the room wouldn't be cleaned as the housekeeper didn't have time and after much frantic scrabbling we were allocated another room some distance away from the kids and which amounted to little more than a box room. The key continued not to work on the other until after three changes of keys. The whole process took about an hour until we finally got out for some dinner. Apologies from the receptionist but nothing more and our subsequent complaint to Ibis Head Office was met with no response. Ibis Troyes on the other hand was fantastic for the return leg so probably just an issue with the Nevers hotel rather than a widespread problem.
