We ordered the online menu for the first time and won't do it again. there are too many restrictions and was confusion amongst the staff as to what is included. Some of the staff were a little surly, which is quite unusual.
Room was comfortable, breakfast was plenty and front desk personnel was very helpful. Location was close to city centre, easy access by car or walking. Would book again or recommend this property again.
We were travelling from Normandy to Switzerland and found chartres an excellent place for a stopover. The hotel was easy to access and had its own parking, while well situated for visiting the centre on foot.
If you want to visit Chartres this is the hotel for you. Central location and easy parking in the underground car park. Only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and all the wonderful shops and cafes. The food at the hotel is simple but good and wholesome. Well worth a visit.
Friendly staff. You will be charged to park in the garage/yard. I didn’t have breakfast, but I checked it out and it seemed certainly worthy. Walking distance to the Cathedral and restaurants. Italo méditerranean restaurant on-site.
Typical Ibis, nothing fancy but all you expect from the Chain, good location short walk to the cathedral and town, wonderful selection of bars cafes and restaurants, hotel easy to find good secure car park, all as described in the hotel guide..
Typical Ibis hotel with modern rooms, good beds and clean bathrooms. Our room had an excellent view of the Cathedral, which was a bonus. Staff very pleasant and helpful and there was 'Blue Badge' parking outside, as well as underground parking. Decent restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
We used Chartres as a stopover location on our journey from UK to Cognac. The location was easy to find as it was quite close to the main roads into the town. The secure parking – despite costing an extra 9.5euros and a dash to reception for the entry code – was very welcomed. Julie on reception was wonderful! Very helpful, chatty and friendly. The room was not massive, but it was clean and quiet and there was enough space for walking around our luggage. Comfortable bed meant a good night’s sleep. About a 10 minute walk away is the cathedral and main town area. Unfortunately, most was closed on the Sunday we visited, but it did mean we had a relaxing evening walk. There were some bars and cafes open, but mostly empty, so we ate at the hotel – basic but ok. I had considered staying at the Mercure, but when we saw where it was located while walking around town, decided the Ibis was a better location. I’d definitely stay here again.
Very good all round value, friendly staff, very good location, comfortable rooms and secure parking. Have stayed there twice now and would so again. thoroughly recommended. Also very close to the old town and cathedral for those who wish to sight-see
Very good clean room, with a comfortable bed,and lovely shower. Underground garage well worth booking, for safety of car and belongings.Hotel nicely situated for a short walk into Chatre.Excellent breakfast range available.
The Ibis is in a good location for visiting the town, although you do need to be quite fit as everything is uphill. There is good safe paid parking under the Hotel as well as a public car park outside.
Stayed for one night as stopover, family group included adult children. Position great for Chartres which is beautifull especially with the illuminations at night.Good secure underground parking just under 10euro Pleasant area to walk around too. Double room OK but drab. Battleship grey looks great in a large period room but looked cell like in a small modern pebbledash room.. Twin room not suited to 2 single adults. 2 single beds with no room to move apart. Twin room smaller than double. No space in front of toilet in twin either. Good short stay hotel for couples because of location and parking but the two single adults in the twin room were very disappointed.
Used as base camp for a visit to the area and attending the French MotoGP. The only minor complaint i could offer was that toilet was too close to wall rendering it somewhat restrictive for an 188cm tall male, leading to me having to use it 'sidesaddle. ' The rest of the facilities were excellent, the staff were helpful, polite and eager to assist. The extremely secure underground garage a bonus for anyone touring on a motorcycle. Genuine peace of mind
This hotel was easy to find, centrally located to all local sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby was cozy, rooms were okay. The towels are small, but you can get extras if you ask. Breakfast was good.
Pierre did a terrific job of making us feel welcome and valued as a customer. He fixed a minor booking issue to make us comfortable. Then he had great advice on the amazing light shows going on at major buildings throughout Chartres.
Stayed here one night on our way to Paris. Great location just a few blocks from the beautiful cathedral. Got a clean/comfortable room(although kind of small). Quaint little lobby and bar. Good breakfast with ample selections of breads, meats and cheeses. On site underground parking makes this a great value hotel.
It's an Ibis: you know what you're getting and as far as the room goes, you won't be disappointed. This was the third time we had stayed here and we will probably go back. But not to the restaurant. Pizzas (the 'speciality') were dull, tarte citron was disgusting but worst of all we were in an empty restaurant and our waitress kept trying to steer new arrivals to sit right next to us, despite all the empty tables. Then, as we had prepaid for the room, we settled the restaurant bill when we were finished. Leaving the following morning, I was astonished to have the receptionist demand to see our receipt for the meal. I am not a criminal and don't lie being treated like one. By far our most disapppointing stay at any Ibis (and we have stayed at many).
We have stayed here before and thought it would be nice to stop in Chartres again The hotel does suffer a bit as the quality level is not as high as a "Mercure" but the prices are rising so it will soon be more beneficial to stay in the Mercure range The room at the end of the corridor had the advantage of no passing traffic, and a long way from the lift, however it was small and felt slightly damp It appeared to have been renovated in the last few years but is already showing its over use Woud we stay here again probably not Like so many if not all hotels in France it is the extras that are adding up to an expensive stay - parking 9€ a night - breakfast ?€ Chartres on the other hand has been doing a lot to enhance itself and become more pedestrian friendly well worth a visit
Entire hotel spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Bathroom was very well set out and everything worked although the lack of hand towels in Ibis hotels continues to be very irritating. The bedroom was very cramped for 2 of us with strange elongated layout. Ate dinner in the hotel but disappointingly plain and boring and don't bother with the cafe gourmand as all it consisted of was a scoop of icecream, a tiny amount of apple puree and an overcooked tiny gauffre which was anything but gourmand!!! Breakfast was good but only because we got it at a reduced rate when we booked the room.
Overnight stay very comfortable resteraunt food was good with very friendly service. Italian style food well presented. Breakfast had a good choice of food & drinks. The room was comfortable and clean with a good shower in the bathroom
