The place to be when you have to work in town ... not far from the railway station and located nearby the "vieux port" I had meetings in the city and at "les minimes". l'accueil comme le service de petit déjeuner était parfait.
Modern, well designed hotel in the ideal location for exploring everything La Rochelle has to offer. Great restaurants and bars within several metres of the hotel, and easy walking distance to Place de Verdun for the airport bus, or the railway station to catch a train down the coast. Simple yet varied breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, etc with lovely pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice - a must for someone who doesn't drink tea or coffee!
Great location but the lack of a hotel car park is a severe drawback. Room great and usual Styles standard of cleanliness and hygene. Breakfast room great and content typically French. Would probably choose another hotel with car park next time.
Great location, bright clean and frirndly hotel. Very near the port, loads of resturants, and the shops of the old town too. The check in time of 12 noon was useful, and the check out time of 12 noon even more so, time to pack after breakfast
great hotel with a perfect location in La Rochelle. Can easily let the car in a car park during your stay and walk around. Room has a quite nice design and clean. Staff is very helpfull for any questions
We chose the Ibis Styles due to the central location, which proved excellent with many restaurants within minutes walk. The hotel was spotlessly clean, rooms large enough for comfort and very adequate lighting - something of a rarity in hotel rooms in our experience. Either hotel is very new or recently renovated since everything was in tip top condition. The included continental breakfast buffet was excellent and plentiful. The staff were all very friendly, many speaking English. Originally we'd booked a 3 night stay, but this was extended at the last minute for another 3 days due to cancellation of our return flight. We'd like to thank Michael, the manager, for rearranging rooms for us to stay on when the hotel was practically full, and for his assistance in making new arrangements. We'd happily stay here again when visiting La Rochelle.
The hotel was good for a weekend stay being central to the town and all amenities. The staff were welcoming and because we booked in online no fuss and very quick to get our room. The room and shower room were a bit on the small side, but very clean. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of food and very reasonable and the staff were on hand to refill the food all through breakfast. In all all it was a very good weekend, apart from the weather which can't be helped
We were en route from St Malo to Perpignan and booked this hotel for an overnight stay. We found the Reception staff most helpful and welcoming. The hotel was centrally situated in the town, near to the sea front and surrounded by a large number of multi-national restaurants. The hotel appearance was smart , clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Our room rates were inclusive of continental breakfast of a very high standard. Thus we would have no hesitation in giving the hotel a 5* score if it weren't for the following minus points encountered by us: 1. Hotel is situated in a side road with restricted vehicle access. 2. Limited public car park facilities 400 metres away. 3. Lack of on site dining facilities. It would have been most helpful to us travellers if such points could be made known at the time of making on line booking. However, we did enjoy a very restful stay and have no hesitation in returning again.
Our first stay in an Ibis Styles hotel of our trip to and from Spain, great location to a lovely city. Really quirky theme to the carpet on our floor corridor looked like cobbled stones with a tram track :) Usual Ibis /Accor top quality room, beds to die for, food wanted for nothing. Staff service excellent. Pet friendly with our 2 dogs.
The family did really appreciate the design of the hotel & the team has been very friendly. A special thanks for the children gift bag which is truly complete (air balloon, cards, ...) Additionally the location on La Rochelle port is really nice even it does truly complicate the "parking the car " task
Location was good and hotel was up to the standard expected. Beds and linen were typically French- Once in bed you do not want to get out. A most comfortable nights sleep after a long drive.Breakfast was well worth the effort of getting out bed for.
The two-level suite (we, husband and wife, didn't need the two single bed on lower level) was located just a 100m or so from the harbour, and right at the edge of the old town. We enjoyed the hotel (in all the years -- since 15 years ago -- of staying in Ibis hotels in France, wife was particularly pleased with this hotel) and the town. A pity that we only spent two nights in La Rochelle, and a pity that there is no significant monument to the Knights Templars.
The room is tiny, few space around the bed and inexistent table for laptop/working. The air conditioner was without cover, so the wall has a big hole. Just one single towel in the bathroom for everything, no soap in the shower, when I call to signal, they said "ok, come down and we give one full", like at the camping.
lack of draught beer on arrival and poor bar service , we sat one evening for twenty minutes waiting to be served whilst the assistant chatted on the phone - we gave up. Otherwise the staff were attentive
