I have stayed at the IBIS here in Regensburg many, many times for over 13 years. It has always been a very clean and friendly hotel that gives good value and is well positioned for visiting the city on foot. There is a good Mexican themed restaurant next door (15 meters) called Margaritas that does great food also!
The hotel was what we expected for the price we paid. We are a couple in our 50's and were given a room on the 1st floor next to the stair well. Being on the 1st level, the stairs were used constantly and the door was quite heavy so it made a very loud sound at all hours of the evening. We put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door but it made no difference. We didn't sleep very well as there was also a scratching, dragging sound from the floor above. It sounded like a metal chair being dragged across the floor for hours. The Receptionist was unable to explain the noise.
There is only bad in the room. I mean the room is only for sleep. No mini refrigerator, no bath materials such as shamphoo etc. The worst Ibis hotel I have ever stayed. Moreover, prices are so high. I really don't like this hotel.
In the room reservation you need to specify clearly if you want a quiet room. Most rooms face the main road.. It is really very noisy day and night. If you need two single bed room, need to specify clearly. Bad news according to the Ibis staff who confirm that all such rooms are only available facing the main road. It is quite ridiculous, there are no such rooms in this hotel on the quiet side not facing the main road !!!
easy to get to from railway station good location for sightseeing would liked to have more pillows on bed did not have the breakfast or use the bar reception easy to book in quiet hotel bedrooms and bathroom ok
I had to make a late booking and the Ibis had a room available. The hotel is quite close to the railway station and handy for the city centre. The room was clean but nowhere to put my suitcase - not a big issue though as there were two beds in the room. I arrived at 9.30 pm but no food was available except sandwiches. I would go there again.
This hotel is very well located if you travel by train. Unfortunately the airconditioning does not seem to work. Even in the middle of winter the room was very hot. Opening the window only results in lying awake because of the sound of heavy traffic in front of the hotel.
The hotel was conveniently situated near to the train station and busses, also to walk over the bridge into the palace and old town to visit the Christmas Markets. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room clean.
Excellent location. Less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Danube. Rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. A mall across from the hotel has several eateries. This was our 2nd stay at the Ibis in Regensberg.
I have stayed at the Ibis near the mall many, many times in 11 years. It has never changed... this is a good thing and a bad thing! The WiFi is poor and slow, and the breakfast overpriced with little choice. BUT, it is clean, tidy, pleasant, warm, and easy to find. There is a great restaurant/bar next door (Margaritas Bar Y Cantina Mexicano) where the food is great (if you like burgers and Mexican food)... Overall I like the Ibis but it could be better!
Clean, friendly, efficient. Small rooms and tiny shower but it was in a good location - close to the Old Town and a very large shopping mall. Meals were pretty simple but did the trick when necessary.
Great proximity to the downtown, bus and train stations. The service here is always excellent. I made a mistake with online booking for a non-refundable rate and they still helped me with date changes
As this was a family reunion trip which involved regular trips to the University Klinikum, the location and reasonable price of the Ibis hotel was the main attraction. Centrally located near the Central train station, bus stop and shopping centre it is very convenient. Easy walk to the beautiful old town and the river.
This was my 2nd stay at a hotel in the IBIS group. The first stay, at an IBIS Styles hotel, had left me uninterested in trying again. However, the Regensburg IBIS was recommended by a friend so we tried it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, was sparsely decorated, but a bit bigger than some European hotel rooms. It also made it easy to double check that you hadn't left anything behind. I really liked that the bathroom was off of a small entry hall, rather than directly off our bedroom. I don't know if that is their normal room design, but I hope so. Based on this stay, I will consider IBIS in other cities I visit.
A relatively modern Ibis hotel a short walk from the old town of Regensburg, a World Heritage Site, and just across the road from the railway station. The hotel has a restaurant providing relatively inexpensive (for Germany), freshly cooked evening meals but there are plenty of other restaurants in the town. The staff were most welcoming and helpful from check in to departure. The room was light and airy with the decor and furniture typical of the Ibis brand. We had a quiet room facing inwards towards the spacious hotel parking lot, rooms at the front facing the busy main road may have been noisy. We spent an enjoyable week in Regensburg staying at the Ibis hotel.
The hotel was OK and met our expectations for the most part. As it was only overnight, we were satisfied with basic accommodation. The room was very small, and the bathroom even smaller. It was disappointing that no hand towels were provided and the shower was downright dangerous - small and, with the door opening inwards, hard to get in and out of. Breakfast was excellent although basic. Service was generally good to very good.
This Ibis is in a position that makes it easy to get around and handy to the main train station when you leave. The large shopping centre means you can get a variety of reasonably priced meals. There is a great Italian restaurant just across the road which is cost efficient as well. Just make sure you get a day pass for the city and you can hop on and off wherever you want.
Staff were excellent when we arrived early and allowed us to leave the car in underground car park while we went into town while the room was made ready. We have stayed here a number of times and the staff have always been excellent. We enjoyed a free complimentary drink in the evening The only downside was that when my husband moved the chair out from under the desk the chair came apart as the seat was only attached to the frame by one screw which fell to the floor! (instead of at least eight). A phone call to reception brought us a replacement chair in 9 minutes. One would, however, think that this should have been noticed as the remaining screws must have been swept up earlier and an accident could have been caused. The outside at the entrance is looking tired!
Positives) Breakfast is fantastic, Room was nice, Staff were very nice especially the barman (Mr. Hamza) many thanks to him. Negatives) No minibar in room, 68€/n is quite high, if 50€/n is excellent..
The hotel is very close to the Regensburg Railway Station. We were given a room close directly facing the road (bridge) and it's a bit noisy until the traffic dies down later in the night. The room was neat and just as what an ibis hotel should be. As the hotel is located in the new town, it is necessary to walk for ~5 minutes to the old town.
