When staying in Lille, we always use this hotel (ie 12 (ish) times a year). The location is excellent, being situated in the heart of the old town. It is therefore in an old building and this needs to be taken into account when booking! Breakfast is the standard workable French Ibis, "eat as much as you like" and OK (ish) - for a couple of nights! Restaurants are close by (try La Paix). Outside the hotel can occasionally be a tad noisy, but with beer in bars at 9%... Of note, there is no bar in this Ibis; that said - the staff are spot on. Recommended but note prices change day by day - so book in advance and lock in.

Just off one of the main squares and a short walk from the railway stations, this hotel suited our needs perfectly. We had a top floor room with a beautiful view across the rooftops of Lille. As the weather had cooled, we were able to sleep with the window open and the surroundings overnight were very quiet. The multi-lingual personnel on reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was up to the standard we have come to expect from Ibis and the breakfast rooms were bright and comfortable.

There is nothing about this hotel that can be faulted. The staff are great, service friendly and the room comfortable. The breakfast was good value for money and the location of the hotel is very good. If you have a car with you, be prepared to pay extra. Many local parking lots charge around 17 euros for 24 hours, which adds considerably to your daily cost. The hotel has a parking lot, which costs 11 euros per day and is quite a walk from the hotel itself.

Good location. Car park 5 mins walk away but enclosed and private. Staff good as usual. Our room on 5th floor was quiet but tiny, really a single which as we had our dog (paid for) was very difficult. A bit tatty and towels were clean but stained. Would not return, go for Ibis Styles or Mercure both very close.

The hotel was of the usual standard you expect from Ibis and the staff were very helpful both about the hotel and Lille itself. We did have difficulty finding the car park for the hotel and it seemed to be further than was described. One of the things we did find surprising was that tea/coffee was not available in the rooms, although we were supplied with a kettle when we asked. There is tea/coffee available from reception, but you have to pay extra. The streets around the hotel are kept very clean by the local authorities, but the down side is the noise during the night when the bins are collected, although this is not the fault of the hotel.

We arrived on a Friday evening by car and found the hotel fairly easily by sat-nav although the roads in this big busy city are quite difficult. Everything was up to the usual Ibis standard, good value, clean and comfortable. A bit of noise at night from drunken revellers but only to be expected in the city centre. Although we were attending a WW2 commemoration outside the city so therefore had little time to explore, Lille was a revelation a great place. a real city and not a touristy disneyland experience. We'll definitely return and probably stay again in the Ibis. Only downside, the hotel parking was full the first night but we found a car park easily, the next night we used the hotel parking which turned out to be more expensive (one euro) and further from the hotel. We recommend the Le Barbue d'Anvers restaurant in the rue St.Etienne.

Perfectly situated to explore Lille's Christmas market, plus the many other sites & restaurants of this underestimated town. However, beware the lack of parking nearby (the excellent reserved parking at E10 per day is about 400yds away) and the cobblestones if walking a lot!

The hotel and rooms were a little tired compared to other Ibis hotels I have stayed in, but clean. There was quite a lot of noise from pipes so I did not have a very good sleep. On one occasion my towels were taken away and not replaced so I had to contact reception but this was sorted quickly. Great location though.

If I had known how difficult the hotel is to reach (by car) and that the garage was a long way from the hotel I would have booked elsewhere. The maps provided on the website were inadequate. The hotel however was good value for money.

The hotel was an absolute nightmare to find on the Sat Nav due to Lille's Quirky one way system. However the Hotel is right in the Centre of Lille and the staff were extremely helpful particularly when we had a problem with the room

Just off the Grand Place in Vieux Lille, this is a small and pleasant hotel. Perfect for a weekend away, or for business. Please don't rush to book it though, I want to have a room free for my next visit!

I like to chose Ibis Hotels because in general I have no surprises. What I look for is a clean, convenient place to sleep, with garage and Internet at an acceptable rate. I don't spend much time in the hotel and I like to eat outside. The staff at reception was very professional, welcoming and helpful. The position ideal, bang in the centre of town and perfect for exploring the city. I haven't experienced any particular inconvenience like other travellers have described, no mosquitos, no noise and found the bed comfortable. It's true the room and bathroom are small, but I live in central London and my home is not much bigger, so that was not an issue with me. The parking is not at the Hotel, but close enough. I arrived at weekend and it wasn't too complicated to get the luggage off the car into the hotel and then go to park. I would happily go back when I visit Lille again.

I needed a Hotel close to the train station for travelling the following day, this hotel was well located with a number of restaurants close by. The rooms were small, which is usual for an Ibis, however I found mine smaller that usual. Good hotel for a short stay.

This is our fourth stay at Ibis Opera Lille and as usual, the bedding is very comfortable even though the rooms are somewhat tiny. Friendly And efficient staff and the hotel is ideally situated for tourism, shopping, etc.

I have stayed here before with friends, which was great. I have just stayed again and although I would come back and it was mostly fine, one of the rooms we booked was not so great. The "double" bed was really a large single and the room was really small. My friends really struggled to sleep properly but being British we didn't complain but I did mention it when we checked out and this was a waste of time really, it wasn't really acknowledged, so that was a bit disappointing. The breakfast is brilliant for an Ibis, or are they all this good these days? The location is brilliant too, just off the main square and in the old town. There is private parking at a very reasonable price, it's not on site but is still very convenient. Overall another good stay but with one niggle.

Everything you would expect from an Ibis hotel. It's clean, convenient and really good value for money. The location is excellent. A quite quirky breakfast area - not where you would expect it to be!!

If you are looking for a no frills budget hotel in Lille, look no further than the Ibis Centre Grand Place - Right in the heart of it all and close to the Opera. Parking is not available outside the hotel, but public parking is available close by I'll definitely use the hotel again

Great location in the centre of Lille, with no problems finding secure parking. Friendly helpful staff and comfortable room. Only criticism would be that breakfast items were not replenished at 9.40 (10.00am finish) - bit cheeky for a 9euro charge.

Stayed for a Sunday night - really good hotel in a great location. Staff recommended local restaurant which had wonderful atmosphere and good food - an excellent find on a Sunday evening in Lille when almost everything is shut! Looking forward to going back to this hotel in late autumn, with other family members, to explore Lille further.

Staff very helpful and courteous. Hotel right in the centre of Lille, with nearby secure parking, ideal for our purposes. Rooms were clean and had tv etc. an enjoyable overnight stop. Thought noise from square may have been a problem, these worries were unfounded, obviously very good soundproofing
